Abstract

Channa striata is a fishery commodity that has high economic value. However, the availability of cork fish is very dependent on the availability of nature due to the lack of technology in the provision of seeds in a sustainable manner. In general, semi-artificial spawning with hormone induction is done for parent efficiency as well as increasing the quality and quantity of fish eggs as potential fish seeds. One of the spawning hormones that can be used is Pregnant Mare Serum Gonadotropin (PMSG), this hormone contains many elements folicle stimulating hormon (FSH) which can trigger gonad maturation in the early stages of oocyte formation and egg yolk filling in the process of vitelogenesis which will have an impact on egg diameter and fecundity. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimal dose of the PMSG hormone to increase egg quality in this case is the diameter of the egg and the quantity of eggs in this case is fecundity. The female cork fish used has a size range of 30-40 cm with a weight of 500 - 700 g, adapted in a controlled container then PMSG hormone induced by treatment A dose: 0.75 mL / kg; B: 1.0 mL / kg; C: 1.25 mL / kg; D: 1.5 mL / kg and repeated three times. Then wait up to 72 hours to find out the development of oocytes. The results showed that the best treatment for egg diameter with a dose of 1.25 mL / kg with an egg size of 1.04 mm, whereas in fecundity with a hormone dose of 1.5 mL / kg produced 23,612 eggs.

Abstract

Lamtoro leaf flour is a valuable nutritional biological resource for raw materials for carp feed. However, in its utilization the lamtoro leaf flour is constrained by the presence of anti-nutrient substances such as tannins and mimosin. Fermented to reduce anti-nutrients and crude fiber content. Fermentation using Trichoderma sp. This study aims to examine the effect of lamtoro leaf flour fermented and added to the feed on the growth of carp (Cyprinus carpio L.). The research method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments and 5 replications. Fish were given artificial feed with lamtoro leaf flour content that had been fermented by 0%, 10%, and 20%. The observed variables included Specific Growth Rate (SGR), Absolute Growth, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), Survival Rate (SR), Fish response to feed given and Water Quality. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the substitution of fish meal protein and corn flour with lamtoro leaf flour which has been fermented with Trichoderma sp. into the feed did not have a significantly different effect (p> 0.05) on the growth and survival of carp (Cyprinus carpio L.).

Abstract

This study was conducted on 17th October - 27th November 2016 at Gili Asahan, Gili Layar, and Gili Gede in West Sekotong, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The purpose of this study was to analyse a suitable area for sea cucumber cultivation (Holothuria scabra). Data collection had been done by survey method, acquiring primer and secondary data directly related to sea cucumber's life and analyzed by using Geographic Information System software. A physical parameters include temperature 29,14 – 30,240C, the water transparancy of the 0,78 – 1,35 m, the current speed from 0,2 to 0,7 m/s, rainfall of 174 mm, protection: protected, fairly protected and unprotected, depth 0,78 to 1,35 m, the tide of 0,9 m. Land suitability classes are determined based on the interval between the other classes S1 (40-42), S2 (37-39) and N (34-36). Based on the results of scoring that has been adapted to the class interval obtained sample points with a very appropriate category (S1) including A1, C1, C4, C5. Then for the corresponding category (S2) between the A2, A3, C2, C3. Meanwhile, according to the category is not contained in the sample points B1, B2 and B3.

Abstract

Fucoidan were recovered from Sargassum polycystum by single-step extraction with ultrasonic wave pretreatment. Extraction were optimized using central composite design of respon surface method. Ultrasonic wave pretreatment conditions were 80% amplitude, for 15 minute. Alga solution in 0.03 M HCl ratio 1:20 (b/v) at 70-90oC for 3-5 hour were evaluated during this process to establish a condition to maximize the extraction. The aim this research is getting the optimum conditions extraction yield fucoidan Sargassum sp. Result this reseacrh all extraction factors had significant effects on fucoidan yield (p<0,05). The optimum conditions were extracting temperature 81oC, extracting time 4,04 h. Under this condition, the experimental yield of crude fucoidan 7,15±5,58%. Based on the characterization result of fucoidan by fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy, we foundthat fucoidan Sargassum sp.is composed sulfate group.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the conditions of the extrusion process which gave a maximum value of intrinsic viscosity response. The 2k factorial design was used to determine the effect of temperature, screw speed and pH on intrinsic viscosity and determine the accuracy of the first-order polynomial model. The temperature treatment, screw speed and pH of alginate extraction extrusion process have a significant influence on intrinsic viscosity. The maximum intrinsic alginate viscosity value of 416.16 ml/g occured under conditions of extrusion process temperature of 60oC, screw speed 75 rpm and pH 10. Quadratic first-order polynomial model, planning of research center temperature 60oC, screw speed of 75 rpm and pH 10 were appropriate.
