Abstract

In 1970, Nurcholish Madjid stated "Islam yes, islamic parties no" within his speech in Menteng Raya Jakarta in the moment of night meeting among the organization of youths, leaners, students, and scholars of moslem coming form HMI (Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam), GPI (Gerakan Pemuda Islam), PII (Pelajar Islam Indonesia) and Persami (Persatuan Sarjana Muslim Indonesia). He is not interested in islamic parties, since the leaders of the islamic parties existing in that time did not became the transmitters ofmoslem community's  aspiration any longer. Instead, they only struggled their parties and their own interests. Beside, they also were devided into different denominations who had no strong commitment to the struggle of moslem community. He asserts his standpoint that his commitment is merely to Islam, not to Islamic institution.

Abstract

Fetisyism of commodity  is a phenomenon in which someone sees the meaning of something as inherent part of its physical existence, but actually the meaning is just created through its integration into system of meaning. As Marx says, fetisyism of commodity is phenomena, that is, seeing something as having an inherent value in it, whereas, the value is made by man. The Marx's analysis is very important in our understanding of how a product or commodity communicate a social relation (class, status, condition, role, grade, prestige) operating in a social context. Marx uses term mystification to explain false appearance or false meaning of a commodity, that actually have had a certain meaning in society.

Abstract

The moral values in life hold great importance from the point of personal, social and spiritual development. The quality of our lives is not determined by the happenstance of genetics or by the influence of environment; it is not measured in material possessions or in the trappings of youth; it is not dependent on personality or social acclaim. On the contrary, the intrinsic value of the lives we lead reflects the strength of a single trait: our personal character. Values are the motive power behind purposeful action. Moral values are meant for making the quest to find the higher  self an easier. This article explain those important matter as explained by Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah Al Hajj or was usually known as HAMKA (1908-1081) an expert ulama in religious field from Indonesia.

Abstract

Sacred science or scientia sacra in latin from Nasr, as exposed in this article refers to the application of sacred knowledge to various domain of reality, both physical and spiritual. Any science, be it natural, mathematical or intellectual, that places the sacred at the center of its structure is sacred, to the extent  that  it is an application of the immutable principles of metaphysics to the world of change and relativity. It is based on a worldview that considers nature, the very subject matter of science, as a sacred being, vestigia dei, ayatollah, or the signs of God which point to the symbolic significance of the world of nature. In contrast with the view of modem science that reduces the order of nature to everlasting change and impermanence. One can also say that sacred science is the real continuation of traditional sciences, such as Islamic science and medieval, depends on its metaphysical roots.

Abstract

Environmental Ethics deal with the moral relationship ofhuman beings with the environment. It answers questions like, why is it wrong for humans to pollute and destroy the environment? Is it wrong to pollute the environment because it harms the present or the future of human well-being or because nature itselfpossesses an innate value? The framework of the behavior of Muslims in respect to nature is a very important component in Islamic ethics. Both the Quran and Hadith (Sunna) emphasize protecting and valuing the environment as a central component of faith. Though Islamic ethics is providing Muslims with very sophisticated and just principles; the majority of Muslims are not taking the forefront in protecting nature and in shaping sustainable policy and practices. The aim in this article is to assess the relationship between nature and Islamic ethics and possible Islamic responses to the environmental crisis.

Abstract

Desacralization of religion in social reality is encouraged by two mutually connected things. The first one is the lack ofunderstanding  ofreligion. Religion is only understood in certain aspect such as worship, spiritual training and moral messages. Religion is merely considered as alienation of all human problems oflife. When communicated to the rational school of thought of the western ideologies such as materialism, religion become negated because it cannot give the rational arguments in order to seek the solution of the human problem oflife. The second one is social-political and cultural transformationin society covering social-political situation,social-cultural change of society consisting of cultural and family transition and the challenges of modem life. In addition to the problem of criminality, poverty, hunger, under-development, etc., the traditional-religious society of lndonesia is also faced to the foreign ideologies emerging a kind of discomfort within the given order of social values.
