Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze approaches to assessing this phenomenon in mature tourist destinations. The article gives a detailed analysis of some publications. The authors focus on five types of problems associated with it: alienated local residents, a degraded tourist experience, overloaded infrastructure, damage to nature, and threat to culture and heritage. Diagnostics was developed which allows determining the level of risk of overcrowding by tourists in destinations. Some shortcomings of this methodology were pointed out in a study conducted by a number of authors (Peeters et al., 2018) for the European Parliament Committee on Transport and Tourism. The study focuses on the main indicators of overtourism. For regions or destinations wishing to assess the risk of overtourism, a checklist has been proposed to evaluate it. The authors of the joint study by the Austrian Hotelier Association (ÖHV) and the Roland Berger global consultancy firm (2018) divided measures to combat overtourism into proactive measures (when destinations plan their activities) and reactive measures (when cities are already experiencing problems with overtourism). In addition, a four-step sustainable tourism development plan has been developed. All authors agree that the lack of reliable statistics makes it difficult to effectively identify the state of overtourism in destinations. Nevertheless, the planning and vigorous activity of all interested parties (business, government, society) will allow weakening the social, economic and environmental consequences of overtourism for mature tourist destinations.

Abstract

The introduction of the term "potential" into the official turnover of tourism science promotes the methodology of research. Tourist - recreational potential of the territory in this case refers to the scientific category, the analysis of the content, whose structure is a necessary condition for understanding the essence of the tourist destination. All this actualizes the necessity of complex research of tourist - recreational potential of the territory. We believe that it is not only permissible, but it is quite necessary to use the concept "tourist - recreational potential of the territory", including in the regulatory documents, as it is the most complete, comprehensively allows to reveal problems and prospects of tourism development in the region. Firstly, the tourist and recreational potential, being different in content, is present at the territory simultaneously, accompanying each other, implemented in it, being of interest to the tourist. Secondly, there is no territory where there is a recreational potential, which cannot be supplemented with tourist potential, and vice versa. Third, the identification of tourist - recreational potential of the territory allows to develop an algorithm for its transformation into tourist-recreational resources, to determine the goals and objectives for the formation, promotion and implementation of the tourist product, tourist brand of the territory.

Abstract

Nowadays the topic of public relations is being actively promoted in literature and press. It is obvious that, it has become clear that this is an important part of our daily bases. It deals with the sphere of management, especially with the issue concerned Uzbekistan. Sometimes countries are constantly exposed to various crises with serious consequences. To balance these effects, the management and public relations have been applied. So that that a great deal of attention is paid to political PR. As for political PR, the ability of public relations to manage crises, to relieve tension, to ease the situation, to reset public attitudes, to regain people's approval and trust in the activities of the authorities is also widely used in the spectrum of its debate. Important to note that, the business sector has been studied less than it should be. Traditional aspects of the research are election campaigns, work for the prestige of politicians, and in the commercial area, banks and some large companies. We should take into consideration that small and medium business as it is in this domain that lies the basis of development for our country. Besides, it seems to me that although public relations in small companies do not have this scale, they are very important for healthy development. Therefore, it is necessary to explore and develop methods of public relations for the private business sphere.

Abstract

The development of routes in tourism has gained prominence in recent years. One key aim of these routes, apart from attracting tourists to an area, is to tie-up several attractions that would independently not have the potential to entice visitors to spend time and money. Using a cooperation effect promises to have greater pulling power, and it also disperses visitors’ money among a larger number of recipients. Many cities promoting a different type of routes that, in some way, domesticate the gaze of tourists. The most famous routes across the world are the catalog of city resources and offer some of them, which are “consumed” in a homogenous way. The main question of this thesis is (1) how to identify routes in a designated area (2) which socio-demographic and travel related variables are influencing tourists route choice behavior. The questionnaire-based survey was conducted in Samarqand city among local tourists.

Abstract

Tourism is one of the most stable and dynamically developing sectors of the global economy. Despite the economic turmoil of recent years, the number of tourist arrivals is constantly growing. In this flow, the percentage of tourists who prefer to visit various cultural, sports, business, political and other events of various scales also increases annually. People’s desires to attend an event or at some event gradually formed an entire industry, which, in turn, began to manage these desires, bringing considerable benefits to the organizers of the events and destinations - the owners of these events in the form of taxes, activation of infrastructure and population. Sochi city, due to its unique geo-economic and geopolitical location, rich history and rapidly accumulating tourist experience, is becoming one of the most attractive Russian destinations in the field of event tourism. The main problem associated with the development of international event tourism as a basis for influencing tourism infrastructure is the lack of methodological materials for the integrated development of this type of tourism, taking into account modern requirements, the insufficient involvement of marketing technologies to create and promote this tourism product in the domestic and foreign markets and, as a result, in its insufficient socio-economic efficiency. Event tourism can be considered not only as a type of tourism, but also as a strategy for the development of the economic and legal sphere of tourist infrastructure.

Abstract

Tourism is one of the most growing industries that it contributes to the development of most countries especially, developing ones. It creates a huge number of jobs, improves the lifestyle of people and boosts the economy of the country. Uzbekistan has its own potentials in the sphere of tourism mostly connected with culture, history, religion, and traditions, and the government is also paying much attention to the development of the tourism sector. The article examines the problems in tourism sphere that Uzbekistan has to tackle and suggests solutions to them. It also gives information about the potentials that the country has including climate, nature, exotic landscapes, culture, mountains and foods and steps that should be taken in order to use them effectively which guarantee sustainable development. One of the most important steps is to use the most recent technologies and innovations to improve tourism and make it much more comfortable for tourists. Making services available online and teaching qualified and competitive staff are also considered as crucial steps. All products and all the services should be interconnected with each other. Reducing unnecessary limitations for travel agencies, hotels or entertaining places would also contribute to the development of the hospitality business. Increasing the contribution of the tourism industry to our GDP should be our main goal since its contribution is less than 3% while in most countries it accounts for 10-45%. The main type of tourism in Uzbekistan is cultural tourism since it has more than 7300 cultural heritages and over 200 of them are listed among UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Samarkand, Bukhara, and Toshkent are the best places to improve Ziyarat Tourism. Another most important point would be focusing on the promotion and changing the people’s opinions about Uzbekistan which are often negative.
