Abstract

This article describes the result of community service in terms of finishing book (khatmil kitab) Abdul Wahab al-Sya'rani’s work, Washiyat al-Mustafa li al-Imam 'Ali Karrama Allah al-Wajhah, among students of the advanced level of Formal Islamic Education (Pendidikan Diniyah Formal Tingkat Ulya) in Nurul Qadim Islamic Boarding school in order to strenghten narrative of the deep understanding of religion (tafaqquh fi al-din). This program is begun from socialization of the scheduled activities to the students from class to class. It has been advanced for eight times of face-to-face teaching-learning process with using large-class-teaching (bandongan) and small-class-teaching (sorogan). Based on the community service-based program of khatmil kitab, students are able to get knowledge, to hope for blessing (tabarrukan), to worship in every  Friday, and to pragmatically fulfill the productive period with giving free snacks during that activity.

Abstract

The jail of grade 2 in Kraksaan Probolinggo East Java is inhabited by lots of prisoners with deviant behaviors and self-characters which are seemingly ignorant to accept a process of understanding Koran. It seems more difficult to a social stigma that the prisoners are far away religious truth, because their behaviors often frighten and make them to be normatively good people (shalihin and shalihat). Furthermore, a training program of Koran recitation for those who have no abilty of reading and writing Koran (baca-tulis Al-Quran) but have a high commitment of learning it is necessary. This traning is important because they are assumed as having split personality and need a persistent training. Abstract

Karanganyar is a village with huge result of seafoods, since the most of inhabitants are traditional fishermen. Their livelihoods are mackerel tuna (ikan tongkol) with 100 tons for each fish season. However, the price of fresh tuna is too cheap, because they sell uncooked tuna in common markets. The lack of knowledge on processing the uncooked tuna with simple technology is contributing on the ways they have no idea to increase their income from the the kinds of seafood. This article figures out an alternative way of diversification of tuna into floss and nugget which aims to increase their income, to provide a skill of enterpreneurship, and to reduce number of unemployment in Karanganyar. The subject of this program is a Women Team of Empowerment and Family Welfare (Ibu Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga) because they are potentially able to practice this diversification and responsible to help their husbands in increasing the family welfare.

Abstract

People in RT01 RW02 Mimbaan Panji Situbondo and arounds as those who lived in urban area have got an impacts of modernisation and globalisation or—mostly known—‘modern sickness’. In their daily life, they have lack of attention into goodness or kind conducts, specially, based on religious values. Furthermore, moral teaching through daily recitation of kitab akhlak at RT01 RW02 Mimbaan Panji Situbondo intensively with  using some attractive methods and daily illustration is necessary and has an impact on the ways they are involved with that moral teaching.Keywords: RT01 RW02 Mimbaan Situbondo, Social Behavior, Daily Recitation

Abstract

Tobacco is one of the important agricultural commodities in Bucor Wetan Village, Pakuniran District, Probolinggo Regency. However, tobacco stems (nicotiana tobacum) are often considered as agricultural waste, since a lack of effective treatment is given to them. This community service activity is to utilize tobacco stem waste to be useful by making it a biopesticide to treat pests and diseases in plants. To achieve these goals, this program is by counseling and training to farmer groups on how to make biopesticides from tobacco stems. The results of this activity were: a) the participants’ enthusiasm is more considerable, especially the Farmer Group, to involve with the training, and b) their knowledge of using tobacco stems is more increased, since they have highly today’s economic value.

Abstract

The lack of students’ knowledge of their teachers’ works and the less of their consciousness to the environment are crucial problems in some islamic boardingschool, especially in Nurul Jadid. These issues will be settled by implementation of religious preaching (dakwah) with poem (syi’ir) in Syu’abul Iman of Kiai Zaini Mun’im and prefentive action to the illness through herbal medicines of family crops medicine (tanaman obat keluarga). The program is undertaken with some phases, including planting family crops medicine, making herbal medicines, musicalisation of poem in book of Syu’abul Iman, socialization of the herbal medicine and musical poem of Syu’abul Iman. These phases have been structured with long-term, middle-term, and short-term programs which were finished during approximately 4 months (Augustus – November 2019). The involvement of many parties, such as activists of environment in Nurul Jadid, has strongly influenced on the successful implementation of these programs.Keywords: Family Crops Medicine, Nurul Jadid Islamic Boardingschool, Book of Syu’abul Iman

Abstract

The rooms at the Nurul Jadid University lecturers' guest house still could be borrowed only by asking for information to the room desk. It makes the borrower wasting a lot of time, especially if the room desk is not available, in which the borrower needs to wait for getting the certainty of approval for the room borrowing schedule, and dealing with the frequent crashes because there is no system with effective borrowing management. Therefore, this program is to make an Android-based Space Borrowing Management Application by which the user can make use of its features to manage the room and make it easier to borrow the room.

Abstract

People in Kraksaan City, Probolinggo District are religious. In their daily religious activities, they use the great mosque of Ar-Raudlah as a place of religious worship. This mosque is a place where they pray for five times, recite Qoran, contemplate silently (i’tikaf), and involve with religious recitation. A morning class (kuliah shubuh) at Ar-Raudlah is possibly transforming people’s mindset and behavior into more religious, since some of them act illegal lottery and money laundry. By implementing internalisation of religious values with talking (qoulan) technique, they are being regretful, aware of their sins, abandoning these forbidden behaviors, and reinforcing their understanding of Islam. Beside of kuliah shubuh, there are a new program namely interpretation of Koran to increase their understanding of Koran.Keywords: Jum’at recitation, Kraksaan people, internalisastion of Islamic values, masjid Ar Raudlah

Abstract

Wringin in Bondowoso District is a rural area in which the most of inhabitants are religious, but there are lots of them having deviant behaviors, such as gambling, illegal lottery, and mony laundry. It seems more difficult since he level of social participation in religious teaching is relatively low. Furthermore, the social empowerment is important in terms of religious teaching regularly undertaken in Mosque of Baitus Mukhlisin Islamic Boardingschool. This program is possibly to increase their religious understanding of daily life aspects, such as social moral values, classification of obligatory and meritorious worships, correct praying procedures, right and duty between married couple, religious parenting, etc.Keywords: Wringin Village, Social Participation, Religious Values

Abstract

Nurul Jadid is one of the biggest Islamic boarding schools in Probolinggo Regency with many formal and non-formal educational institutions. However, some of them have a lack of supervision in maintaining their quality aspects because of some reasons, such as less qualified human resources, overlapping schedules, and administrative business. Furthermore, this program is to focus on deploying supervision, monitoring, and evaluation over formal and nonformal educational institutions in Nurul Jadid. The result of this program is first, teacher’s and student’s learning tools in MI Nurul Mun’im are relatively completed and standardized, teacher’s understanding of goals of Quranic literacy and furudhul ‘ainiyah is highly demonstrated, the process of uneven semester 2018/2019 final exam in MTs Nurul Jadid is smoothly implemented, about 95% administrative requirements for pre-accreditation in SMP Nurul Jadid is achieved, and educational process in MA Nurul Jadid is based on eight (8) criteria of National Educational Standards.
