Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work discipline and leadership style on employee performance at hotels in Texas. The analysis used in this study using multiple regression analysis. The population in this study were all employees at the hotels. Sampling in this study was carried out using a sampling technique, namely saturated sampling, so the number of samples was 300 employees who were recruited as samples in the study. The results of the study after the data were processed with SPSS.21 with the analytical method used in this study, namely multiple linear regression analysis, Ftest, Ttest, and coefficient of determination (R2). Based on the results of the study it was found that there was a positive and significant effect of work discipline and leadership style variables on employee performance at the hotels simultaneously. This is evidenced by the value of Fcount which is greater than the value of Ftable (29.288 > 3.32) and the probability value which is smaller than (0.000 < 0.05). While partially there is a positive and significant effect of work discipline on employee performance and leadership style has a negative and significant effect on employee performance at the hotels in Texas. Where the tcount value is greater than the ttable value (1,703). The work discipline variable has a tcount value of 5.799 (p = 0.000) and the leadership style variable has a tcount value of -5.035 (p = 0.000). The variable that has the most dominant influence on employee performance at the hotels in Texas is the work discipline variable with the largest tcount value (5.799).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the literature on public leadership, to identify emerging methods to research within that discipline, and to recommend potential research directions for the future. Our attention is focused on organisational leadership from the perspective of the PA, as opposed to other types of public leadership, such as political, community, and military leadership, which are discussed elsewhere. While conducting a literature review and analysis of public leadership, this research makes use of a new mix of bibliometric methodologies that have never been used before. The four basic approaches to public leadership (specifically, "functionalism," "behavioralism," "biography," and "reformism"), each with a distinct philosophy of science (viz., "objective vs. subjective") and the degree of analysis employed (i.e., "high vs. low"), are identified by our results (i.e. micro-level vs multi-level). Following our results, we propose four areas for future investigation: shifting the emphasis away from the "leading" component of public leadership, moving from basic to complicated, and concentrating on public leadership as a starting point for further investigation. A combination of co-citation analysis and bibliographic coupling are the two general bibliometric retrieval approaches that we have employed in our methodology for retrieval.

Abstract

The learning organization idea represents a shift in how organizations are developed and grow. Within the training and development literature, staff development and individual learning were emphasized. This review undertakes a critical review of the confused and confusing literature on the learning organization. Draws on both psychological and organizational perspectives and focuses on the distinction between organizational learning and the concept of the learning organization. The discussion is centered around the issues of learning organization and the nature of learning organization. The issues include the neglect of intra-organizational phenomena and a lack of clarity regarding the treatment of the organization, the nature of learning itself, the lack of an accepted theory of what constitutes a learning organization's culture and climate, the impact of organizational size, the role of teamwork within the learning organization concept, and the fundamental question of whether the learning organization is a variable or a root metaphor. This article looks at some of the problems with the learning organization literature and then asks whether the learning organization is a concept that is applicable to organizations. Much of the literature on organizations doesn't take into account the unique nature of organizations in terms of their membership and the people with influence within them. Collaborative learning allows employees to gain new knowledge, skills, and attitudes by working together. Finally, it concludes with a consideration of the issues involved in creating a learning organization.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of a university's organizational justice and service quality on the students' perceived value of higher education institutions. Many studies have investigated the importance of customer perceived value in business. Several predictors have been identified, such as service quality and fairness in service. However, business and public sector services have distinct characteristics that define each sector. Considering the importance of education services and the role of higher education institutions, this study explored the contribution of organizational justice and service quality to students' perceived value. There were 517 students from higher education institutions who participated in the study. They were recruited through online advertisements, and the survey was completed online. The results confirmed the contribution of organizational justice and service quality to students' perceived value. The results were consistent after controlling the effect of other demographic variables (e.g., gender). This study suggested that organizational justice and service quality should be fostered in Indonesian higher education institutions. Organizational justice in higher education can instil a sense of proper educational management while service quality assures the university's high standard of services. Like other customers in business, students in higher education also expect value for their education. However, if they find injustice and poor services at their university, they will be more likely to perceive low value. This study has confirmed the application of organizational justice and quality service theory in higher education services.

Abstract

This study explores some empirical validity of the fear of the Covid-19 scale. The study intends to examine potential validity when the scale is used for young people attending higher education institutions in Indonesia. Researchers invited undergraduate students from five universities in Indonesia. Four hundred fourty five participants fully completed the survey within six weeks of data collection. The study was conducted online through an online survey platform where most participants completed the survey within 20 minutes. Two measures were employed, the fear of Covid-19 and the perceived stress scale. The results supported the theoretical measurement model in which fear of Covid-19 and perceived stress scale each represented a unidimensional construct. The Principal Component Analysis (PCA) also found that the fear of the Covid-19 scale generated positive loading factors for its items with an average variance extracted (AVE) higher than 50%. The Pearson's correlation's predictive validity study observed a positive and significant association between fear of Covid-19 and perceived stress. This study has provided initial empirical support for the use of fear of Covid-19 for young people who attend higher education institutions. The fear of the Covid-19 measure was also in line with several studies and the Conservation of Resource theory. People who perceive crisis will experience threats to their resources, and they will be more likely to experience stress if they do not have enough resources to cope with the threats.
