Abstract

The purpose of this paper is twofold. Firstly, to analyse the impact of the newly applied instructional delivery modalities on teachers’ job satisfaction. Secondly, to navigate the role of school leaders to help teachers to cope with these models. The teaching modalities that are of research interest are the face-to-face, online, and hybrid models. The study adopted the mixed-methods approach. Around 151 teachers from 3 private schools in Abu Dhabi shared their response in a quantitative survey. To compare the teachers’ job satisfaction, the following mediating variables were considered: job security, workload, in-class effort, work-life balance, remuneration, leadership support, students’ behaviour, and relationship with co-workers. On the other hand, semi-structured interviews with 20 staff from the 3 schools were conducted to explore the best practices that school leaders can apply to meet the teachers’ job satisfaction. The findings of the study confirmed that there is a significant association between teaching modality and teachers’ job satisfaction. The traditional teaching modality meets the highest level of satisfaction, then the distance learning, and lastly is the hybrid one. Whereas the interviews recommended that school leaders are asked to build active communication channels with their teachers, share the decision-making process, decrease the workload, raise the teachers’ autonomy, and establish a remuneration system. The study concludes that teachers’ job satisfaction in all instructional delivery models should be a priority for every successful school leader.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of authentic leadership and job insecurity on turnover intention. Turnover intention still becomes one of the issues in public service organisations. Despite the fact that Indonesian employees in public organizations are more stable than their business counterparts, many employees develop the intention to quit their job as public service providers. This study recruited 231 employees from public organisations in Indonesia (hospitals, schools, et cetera.), with 87 males (38%) and 144 females (62%). The participants' average age is 32.39 (SD = 13.37), they have 10 years of service (SD = 10.52), and the most recent education is a diploma and/or bachelor's degree (64%). Hierarchical multiple regression was used to analyse the data. The findings revealed that job insecurity affected turnover intention, while authentic leadership had no effect. According to the study's findings, employees of public organisations who feel comfortable at work are likelier to stay and have a low desire to quit. Therefore, public organisations must pay attention to factors that may lead to job insecurity for employees to survive.

Abstract

Leadership has always been an area of interest, and this cannot be less in education. In this study, the aim was to review and understand how education leaders safeguard the principles of the Catholic Social Teaching in the learning institutions. Through review of literature, it is shown that the current direction of industrialization and global exponential population growth is causing anxiety and distress in societies that want to keep the status quo. This behavior is a burden to societal wellbeing, and it is changing people in an unprecedented manner. The behavior challenges leaders at all levels, but more so, the education leaders in the learning institutions. The fear of population growth and knowledge explosion in societies that were less known for influencing global politics has led to the abuse of authority by those in leadership. The fear has also led to subjugation of members of minority groups into conditions that are ethically and morally in conflict with the principles of common good, human dignity, solidarity, subsidiarity, and stewardship according to the Catholic Social Teaching. In these principles, education leaders must afford equal opportunities to all racial, cultural, and social groups to learn and to lead.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of capital structure and profitability on firm value with the debt to The study conducted an analysis of the effect of capital structure and profitability on firm value, focusing on the debt to equity ratio (DER) and return on assets (ROA) variables. The main objective of the research was to determine the partial and simultaneous effects of these variables on firm value. The data analysis was conducted using classical assumption tests, including the normality test, multicollinearity test, autocorrelation test, and heteroscedasticity test. Additionally, the analysis involved simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, hypothesis testing (t test and F test), and coefficient of determination test. This research adopted a quantitative research method since the data collected was in numerical form and the analysis was conducted using statistical tools. The type of data used in the study was secondary data, which was sourced from the annual financial reports published on the IDX and idnfinnancials websites. The results of the analysis revealed that the DER variable (X1) did not have a significant effect on firm value (Y), and the ROA variable (X2) also had no significant impact on firm value (Y). However, when analyzed simultaneously, both the DER and ROA variables were found to have a significant effect on Firm Value. These findings suggest that it is necessary to consider both capital structure and profitability when evaluating the firm value. The results of this study can be used by investors and financial analysts to make informed decisions when investing in Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, Inc.
