Abstract

Chlorpyrifos is widely used by farmers as a contact poison to control leaf and fruit pests in red chilies. Chlorpyrifos is very toxic to the environment and to living things, although it is easily degraded and has a short half-life. Remediation materials in the form of activated charcoal, biochar, and microbial consortium are effective remediation technologies to reduce insecticide residues. Each compound has different characteristics based on the type and texture of the soil. This research aims to obtain the ability of remediation technology for Chlorpyrifos insecticide residues in red chili on light and heavy textured soils. The research was carried out in the screen house of the Indonesian Agricultural Environment Research Institute (IAERI) between May to November 2017. The results showed that the two soil textures had different characteristics of Chlorpyrifos residue remediation technology. The best technology to reduce Chlorpyrifos residue in light-textured soils is the 2 L/ha consortium microbial treatment, while for heavy-textured soils is biochar-coated urea.

Abstract

Bonita's approach to show a quality of a land can be quickly identified in well-managed plantations. Bonita as an assessor of land quality is a soil fertility class on a plantation forest area which is arranged with the parameters of height and age of the stand. If the land has not been managed or has just been planted, it will become a barrier to determine the quality class of the land. So we need the Land Suitability Class (KKL) as another approach besides bonita. The KKL Approach is an approach through direct measurement of environmental parameters. The results of the Land Resource Inventory (ISDL) data from each observation point are systematically processed and classified based on potential and inhibiting properties. This ISDL data analysis will produce KKL class for each observation point. Henceforth KKLs will be classified into 3 classes, namely: S1 (very suitable), S2 (appropriate), S3 (marginal appropriate). To further integrate the two approaches, it is necessary to synchronize the two approaches. The results of the synchronization between bonita and KKL are expected to be able to evaluate teak forest land under any circumstances, either in a state of unplanted land, land with young plants that cannot be evaluated bonitaly. The results of the synctonization are as follows: Bonita 4 – 5 (Very good for teak) = S1 (Very suitable for teak), Bonita 3.5 (Good for teak) = S2 (suitable for teak), The result showed that KKL can be used to assess / evaluate the fertility of teak forest land.

Abstract

The potency for mitigating climate change is owned by mangrove forests because of their ability to store and absorb large amounts of carbon for a long time. Based on this potency, it is necessary to conserve mangrove areas, by maintaining the land as the carbon storage for future generations, by natural approaches, such as reforestation, and by engineering technology, such as building a seawall. The research aims to estimate biomass, carbon storage, and the ability of mangroves to absorb carbon from mangrove tree stands, as the main vegetation that makes up mangrove forests. The results can be the references to maintain mangrove ecosystems. The sampling method is purposive sampling in 4 stations with 20 total sample points, which represent the overall characteristics of the vegetation in Mangrove Eco-Tourism, Mojo Village, Pemalang. Carbon stock analysis was using allometric equations to estimate carbon storage in tree stands. The results showed that there are 3 mangrove species in this area, namely Avicennia Marina, Avicennia Alba, and Rhizopora Mucronata. They each have Important Value Index of 210,7; 12,8; and 76,5. Total biomass and carbon content of mangrove stands in the entire 57,3 Ha area is about 7.070,91 tons of biomass and 3.323,33 tons of carbon storage with the ability to absorb CO2 is 12.196,61 tons/day.

Abstract

Human development is one of the main focus of development in National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024. This is stated in the third of seven development agendas, "Improving Quality and Competitive Human Resources". Level of human development can be reflected through the Human Development Index (HDI). In 2020, HDI of Central Java Province is 71,87. It has reached the high-level category (70-80), but it is closer to the medium-level category (<70). HDI of Central Java Province in 2020 occupied only on the 13th position among 34 other provinces. There is a need for optimizing the conditions of human development in Central Java Province. Mapping on the quality of human development contributes to ensure equitable distribution of competencies in order to accelerate national economic recovery during pandemic. Therefore, this study aims to identify, map, and determine priority areas for human development in Central Java Province as recommendations for government in making policies. There are three different analysis method, they are descriptive analysis, spatial analysis with Moran's and LISA, and Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) to determine development priority areas. The variable of study is HDI values for 35 districts in Central Java Province. The result of descriptive analysis describes that the western region of Central Java Province tends to has a lower of HDI values than the center to eastern side. Based on geospatial linkages and MSA approach, the human development planning in Central Java Province should focus on the three MSA formed, namely MSA Tegal, MSA Pekalongan, and MSA Purworejo as the development priority areas.
