Abstract

This article discusses the Utilization of an Effective Classification and Shelving System for Library Materials in Meeting Information Retrieval Needs at UPT. Sriwijaya State Polytechnic Library. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of a classification system and an effective shelving of library materials in meeting the needs of information retrieval at UPT. Sriwijaya State Polytechnic Library and how effective the use of alphabetical shelving is to facilitate the information retrieval system. The research method in this article is a type of qualitative descriptive research. Qualitative descriptive research is research that aims to describe a situation or event in the way it is. The result of the analysis in this article is the determination of the classification number based on the subject and the predetermined chart. If you can analyze the subject correctly and can follow the instructions on the classification chart, you are expected to get the right subject and get the right notation. So that the placement of library materials on the shelves in the correct position and the information retrieval system along with the process of searching or searching for information is easy to do quickly and precisely. Shelving process carried out at UPT. The Sriwijaya State Polytechnic Library for general works refers to the classification number on a regular basis and is matched with the classification number provided on each bookshelf.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the role of teacher librarians as agents of information literacy at Madania Parung Elementary School, Bogor. Librarians are information literacy agents in libraries. As the "agents", librarians have duties and responsibilities to users in information literacy. The teacher librarian as an information literacy agent has duties and responsibilities to its users, especially students to be information literate through the activities carried out. The Madania school library has a teacher librarian who can create information literate users from an early age. Therefore, this study examines the role of teacher librarians in information literacy. The research method used is qualitative with phenomenological methods. The results of the study can be seen as the teacher librarian is an information literacy agent at the Madania Parung Elementary School, Bogor. This can be seen from the three main roles of teacher librarians, namely teacher librarians as curriculum leaders; teacher librarians as information specialists; and teacher librarians as managers of information services. These three roles can be realized in activities carried out by teacher librarians, namely library classes, best readers, storytelling, and library tours by collaborating with various parties, both internal to the school and externally through collaboration with schools in the Bogor environment.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat ketersediaan koleksi di Perpustakaan Fakultas Hukum Universitas Lancang Kuning. Populasi dari penelitian ini sebanyak 1.610 Mahasiswa sedangkan sampel yang ada dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 95 Mahasiswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, kuesioner, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini sebagai berikut (a) Kebutuhan Informasi mutakhir (Current Need Aproach) sebanyak 45 orang membutuhkan koleksi dari sisi keilmuan  (b) Kebutuhan informasi rutin (Everyday Need Approach) sebanyak 52 responden membutuhkan bahan informasi didalam mencari koleksi seperti hasil penelitian dosen (jurnal) dan penelitian mahasiwa (skripsi). (c) Kebutuhan informasi Mendalam (Exhaustic Need Approach)  yang paling dibutuhkan mahasiswa dalam bentuk karya cetak : (buku, majalah, laporan dan lain lain) berjumlah 65 responden.  (d) Kebutuhan informasi sekilas (Catching Up Need) yang paling dibutuhkan daftar judul koleksi baru di perlukan dalam mencari informasi sebanyak 58 respoden, sementara itu ketersediaan koleksi perpustakaan Hukum Unilak paling banyak menyediakan koleksi dari daftar  berupa buku, prosiding dan jurnal judul buku baru yang berjumlah 3.503 judul, Sehingga ketersediaan koleksi dengan kebutuhan informasi sekilas dinyatakan tersedia dari sisi daftar judul buku baru

Abstract

This study aims to determine the service strategy used by the Gedhe Kauman Yogyakarta Mosque Library in the era of the Covid-19. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Collecting data in this study using interviews, observation, and documentation. Test the validity of this research data using triangulation techniques sources and methods, as well as member check. The data analysis technique used is the theory of Miles Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of this study reveal that the offline service strategy at the Gedhe Kauman Mosque Library is in the form of circulation services by implementing health protocols, and children's services or Kids Corner. Meanwhile, for online library services, there are book pick-up and book consultation services. Based on the results of the analysis, the obstacles to implementing the service strategy during the pandemic are the lack of awareness of the administrators to comply with library service opening times as well as the existence of offline lecture trials from campus which resulted in the administrators not being able to attend according to the picket schedule, and the lack of a collection of books that could be used as reference for college assignments. The solution from the management to overcome problems in carrying out the service strategy regarding Human Resources (HR) is to adjust the picket schedule,  while  for  the  lack  of  book  collections,  additional collections are proposed through the head of the library.

Abstract

The development of the world of technology every year always increases and makes it easier to do anything in their respective fields. Libraries today must adopt technology this time, namely digital technology. A digital library is an electronic library whose information can be stored and retrieved through digital formats. Digital libraries include a group of interconnected workstations connected to a high-speed network. Previous research has developed a library system with non-conventional data processing and easy service for all library members. Based on the above background, the purpose of this research is to create an Android-Based E-Library Application to Improve Service Quality and Support Distance Learning in Higher Education. Place The object of this research is STMIK Pringsewu. The methodology in this study uses qualitative methods. In terms of data collection, there are several types of data collection methods in qualitative research, namely observation, visual analysis, literature review, and interviews. The results of the research are that the downloaded file is a file with a PDF extension, and the downloaded file is complete according to the books that have been registered in the General and System Categories, which have been tested and functioned properly. Suggestions for further research can be integrated with the Higher Education academic administration system and the need for the role of Lecturers to guide, supervise, and invite students to always be independent and patient in learning so that the knowledge gained can be well received.

Abstract

Information technology is an information that is formed in detail and simply by going through the delivery process from the sender to the recipient with a fast process. The role of libraries in this information technology era is very helpful for librarians and users. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method using descriptive research and data collection by using interviews, observation and literature review. The object of this research study is Bina Sriwijaya College. Mastery and application of information technology at Bina Sriwijaya College can be said to still use the old way. The use of information technology for user needs is still in the process of digitizing. The development of a digital library or e-library for library management staff can help work in the library through the function of the library automation system.

Abstract

The University Library is an integrated library of educational, research and community service activities and functions as a learning resource center to support the achievement of educational goals located in higher education. The library provides various kinds of information that can help people who do not have a job base by providing information about the job market and providing training or practice for someone to be able to become an entrepreneur. The author uses qualitative research with library research methods. In collecting data, the author makes observations, documentation and direct interviews. From the recap in January-April, it shows that there has been an increase in student interest in visiting the library, this is shown by the number that continues to increase every month. From this it can be concluded that library activities have a very effective role in attracting student visits. Therefore, it is proper for us librarians to present activities that increase knowledge and knowledge in the university environment. The increase in interest in visiting is always accompanied by interest in borrowing/reading library users.

Abstract

This research is entitled The Effect of Instagram Social Media on People's Reading Interest (Case Study on the @komunitaspembacabuku account). The purpose of this study was to find out how the influence of Instagram social media on reading interest in the case study community on the Instagram account @komunitaspembacabuku. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with the type of case study research. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The population in this study amounted to 24,300 followers with a sample of 100 respondents. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be seen that there is a simultaneous positive and significant effect between Instagram social media on people's reading interest (a case study on the Instagram account @komunitaspembacabuku) with a calculated f value of 53.474 > 3.938 or (f count > ftable) so that Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. based on the coefficient of determination of the Instagram social media variable (X) it affects people's reading interest (Y) by 35% while the remaining 65% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

An information system can ease the user in receiving information.  The library needs to use effective and efficient service by using the information system. Processing of library materials is important to do to facilitate the search for information and expedite service activities. This research has a case study at the Bandar Lampung City Library and Archives Service which has used the INLISLite system since 2014. But until now they are still using INLISLite version 3.1. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by conducting field research on the problems that occur, as well as interacting directly with librarians. INLISLite version 3.1 which is used displays several menus such as Back Office, Read on Place, Guest Book, Online Membership, Digital Collection Services, OPAC, Articles, Member Registration, Statistics, Surveys, Self-Returns, and Self Borrowing. The results first result from the study, librarians can process library materials on the Back Office menu. The second is there are no problems in the learnability and efficiency aspects because in this aspect the INLISLite system makes it very easy for librarians, but there are problems in the Memorability, Error, and Satisfaction aspects.
