Abstract

What is creation? Creation is all things, human beings and non human beings. What is spirituality? The Spirit is life, ruah, breath, wind. To be spiritual is to be alive, filled with ruah, breathing deeply, in touch with the wind. What, then, is creation spirituality? Creation spirituality is a way of living based on creation. In another word, we can learn a way of living by reflecting on creation itself. One of the many things we can learn from creation that makes us to be fully alive is simple living, living aerodinamically, living lightly but abundantly.

Abstract

Renewal was a declaration done by the 2nd Vatican Council. It was manifested variously in all its documents, and in specific way the Council summoned the renewal of the moral theology. It means that the Council also required renewal of moral theology of marriage, which was inclining too strict and rigorious in the past. That inclination marked a contradictory between life and doctrin. In the light of renewal doctrin and life are no more seen contradictories but dialectics.

Abstract

Bagi Paulus, misteri erat kaitannya dengan rahasia karya penyelamatan Allah yang telah memilih dan mengangkat manusia menjadi putera-puteri-Nya. Rahasia kehendak Allah itu telah dinyatakan oleh dan dalam Kristus Yesus dengan wafat dan kebangkitan-Nya. Ef 1:3-14 melukiskan bahwa dalam Kristus, Allah telah memilih manusia sebelum dunia dijadikan; oleh Kristus, Allah telah mengangkat manusia menjadi anak-anak-Nya; sebab di dalam Kristus dan oleh darah-Nya, manusia beroleh penebusan, yakni pengampunan dosa. Semua itu terjadi sesuai dengan rencana yang dari semula telah ditetapkan Allah di dalam Kristus Yesus sebagai persiapan kegenapan waktu untuk mempersatukan di dalam-Nya segala sesuatu yang ada di surga dan di bumi. Di dalam Kristus Yesus itu pula kita yang percaya kepada-Nya dimeteraikan dengan Roh Kudus yang menjamin kita akan memperoleh penebusan dan menjadikan kita milik Allah.

Abstract

In the primitives they believed that certain waters can be impregnated with the power of deity. The rites of purifications tended to assume the character of rites of consecration or initiation. A gentile was unclean, and so could be admitted into Jewish communions with a tebilah, a ritual bath of purification. In Qumran Community and Essenes the lustrations were effective for the cleansing of moral impurity. One of them was John the Baptist. The baptism of John was a bath of purification for the coming of the Reign of God. The first christians proclaimed the gospel with joyous certainty. The response to that good news was called for in terms of repentance, faith and baptism. Baptism is an overt, public act that expresses inward decision and intent, since it is performed in the open, and not in secret, it becomes by its nature a confession of faith. The name of the Lord is called over the baptized, therefore he dedicates himself to the Lord and he is appropriated for Him.

Abstract

Aristotle said that human being is a zoon politikon (commonly understood as "social being"). How does his/her political dimension express itself in real life within society? Since political dimension has something to do with society as a whole, thus anyone actually has a political attitude and already acts politically as far as his/her attitude and doing affect society. In this sense, being active in a political party or the party itself can be considered as a manifestation of human nature as political being, precisely because the party has society as its orientation. Political Ethic first of all wants to search and determine fundamental norms and principles of managing a society and governing a state. Every political party and government then must observe these norms and principles. They are principle of equality, principle of freedom, principle of solidarity and principle of utility. These four principles have to be followed by the state, while performing the principle of subsidiary. Furthermore the state has a duty and responsibility to accomplish social welfare and guarantee social justice. So, what is the task of political party? On one hand, maintaining all the fundamental principles and state's duties above mentioned, it has to control and influence the actual government, if it isn't part of this. On the other, it must preserve all those ethical norms while performing the state's governance, in case it holds the government or takes part of it.

Abstract

For Newman, knowledge is an exercise of the intellect to develop the habit of viewing the objects as a unity, like an encyclopaedia, or a circle or a concert. Knowledge is not only a result of the “passive” action of the memory, but the “active” action of the intellect. Knowledge is an education of the intellect to become a gentleman related to liberal knowledge (knowledge for knowledge) and to be a useful man related to useful knowledge. These aims are natural and secular. As a Christian, Newman needs more. Newman needs a religious knowledge also. Newman refuses to separate thinking about religion from other kinds of thinking. He wants an integral knowledge; Newman wants an “integral” education for an “integral” man. The appropriate place for an integral education is a university. In a world that is moving towards a society based on diversity, fragmentarity, discontinuity, multi-versity, Newman wants a society based on unity in diversity, based on “uni-versity”.
