Sylva: Jurnal Ilmu-ilmu Kehutanan publishes original research articles on all aspects of forestry and environmental sciences, including, but not limited to, the following subjects: forest and natural resource management, biodiversity conservation and management, wood science and timber technology, agroforestry and social forestry, and forest products and forestry. It serves as a primary platform for the dissemination of both theoretical and experimental research, as well as technical reviews. This journal publishes one volume per year, consisting of two issues in July and December. This journal was published by the Faculty of Agriculture, Muhammadiyah University of Palembang.

Abstract

This research was carried out to determine the implementation of social forestry. One of the areas that has implemented the social forestry pattern is the forest area in the management area of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) KPH Region XIII Lakitan Bukit Cogong which is located in Musi Rawas Regency.. So the aim of This research aims to determine the process of implementing social forestry policies and determine the influencing factors. The research was conducted at HKM Wana Manunggal, Sukakarya Village, Musi Rawas Regency, using a qualitative descriptive approach method. Based on the data analyzed, financial resources are still lacking and human resources (staff) are sufficient. The collective action process between actors is running well with the presence of a committed PPS Working Group. Communication is going well between the community (forest farmer groups and members of HKM Wana Manunggal) and communication is also very good between the government structure, village heads and officials and the regional government. The social forestry policy at HKM Wana Manunggal KPH Lakitan Bukit Cogong, Musirawas Regency, has been implemented effectively from the perspective of policy accuracy in resolving forestry problems and environmental accuracy in accepting policies.

Abstract

Agroforestry is a land management system that combines agricultural production plants with forestry plants. Based on economic aspects, implementing an agroforestry system combines several types of plants on one land, this can increase crop productivity. so that the total income after harvest will be abundant. This research aims to identify the agroforestry planting patterns implemented and analyze farmers' income in Tanjung Beringin Village, Tanjung Lubuk District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. This research was carried out in Tanjung Beringin Village, Tanjung Lubuk District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method. The sampling technique used the Slovin formula with a total of 31 respondents. Data collection was carried out by giving questionnaires to respondents. The results of the research show that the community in Tanjung Beringin Village applies the Randome Mixture agroforestry planting pattern by implementing agricultural crops and forestry plants planted irregularly according to the wishes of farmers. Respondents' household income comes from fruit sales, income from secondary crops. The contribution of agroforestry income is greater than income originating from non-agroforestry (Rp. 80,000,000,-). The results of agroforestry in Tanjung Beringin Village, Tanjung Lubuk District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency contributed to an income (all respondents) of Rp. 98,906,000,- Per year.Key words: Agroforestry, agroforestry system, cropping patterns, income, contribution

Abstract

Waterbirds are migratory birds with the largest number in the world who always migrate to a place/region.. This study aims to determine the types and population of migratory and residents waterbirds(waders)  on the Semenanjung Banyuasin SPTN region II Berbak and Sembilang National Parks, Kabupaten Banyuasin This study uses the Point Transect method, the number of bird populations is recorded directly and through estimates using the Block method. Based on observations, it was found that there were 3.743 water birds consisting of 3.240 migrant species and 503 resident species. From this number, after being identified, it is known that there are 20 species of migratory waterbirds and 11 species of resident waterbirds.

Abstract

Coffee was a plantation commodity that has quite high economic value among other plantation crops and plays an important role as a source of foreign exchange for the country, however, the pests and diseases that attack coffee plantations in HKM Solok Radjo are not yet known. This research aims to analyze pests and diseases of Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica) in HKm Solok Radjo, Aie Winter, Lembah Gumanti District, Solok Regency, West Sumatra Province. This research uses interview methods and field observations. The data analysis method in this research is descriptive analysis. The results of the research showed that the pests and diseases that were found in the coffee plantations were Hypothenemus hampei (fruit borer), coffee such as leaf rust disease (Hemilleia vastatrix), coffee fruit rot disease (Colletotrichum sp), coffee leaf spot disease (Cercospora coffeicola), upas fungus disease (Upasia salmonicolor). Pests and diseases in this plant are a nuisance because they can cause the plant to be damaged and even die. In handling it, a number of special steps are needed to eliminate pests and diseases in plants, including using pesticides or rotating crops.

Abstract

Environmental issues and nature conservation are very complex problems and are our responsibility together. Therefore the provision of information as early as possible to students is very good and most likely will always be remembered all the time and be embedded in the heart of their conscience. The knowledge, attitudes and good behavior of forests in the young generation will make a solid foundation to keep the forest in the future. This research aims to measure and analyze the level of knowledge, attitudes and behavior of elementary school students to the conservation of forest in the lifeboats Park Punti Kayu Palembang City, South Sumatera province. This research was implemented in 2 (two) elementary school namely SD Negeri 237 and SD Negeri 238 Palembang South Sumatera province. The selection of schools is conducted using Pruposive sampling, which is a nonrandom (non-randomized) sampling technique for non-specific populations, with specific consideration criteria which is the school distance ? 2 km from TWA Punti Kayu Kota Palembang  South Sumatera Province. The research methods used are field observations, interviews with questionnaires, and library studies. Sampling technique using the formula Slovin with the number of respondents as many as 40 students. The data collection done is to provide 10 question items in the knowledge variable, 10 question items in attitude variables and 10 question items in behavior variables. The results show that (1) the level of knowledge, students ' attitudes and behaviors on forest conservation are in good category. (2) Factors that influence is the use of learning media in the process of learning teaching and application of forest conservation education on environmental education material, in this case both have each other a correlation so that it affects the level of Knowledge, attitudes and behaviors.
