Abstract

 Al-Qur’ân merupakan kitab suci yang menjadi pedoman hidup dan sumber dari segala sumber bagi ummat Islam. Di dalamnya terdapat penjelasan tentang berbagai aspek pengetahuan termasuk pendidikan karakter. setiap ayat yang ada dalam al-Qur’ân merupakan wujud nilai. Nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalamnya merupakan bentuk nilai karakter yang dapat ditanamkan kepada peserta didik.Penelitian ini difokuskan untuk menggali konsep, metode pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam surah al-Fâtihah dan relevansinya dengan penguatan pendidikan karakter kurikulum 2013.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif grounded theory dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan. Sumber penelitian ini adalah surah al-Fâtihah yang digali untuk menemukan konsep, metode pendidikan karakter dan relevansinya dengan penguatan pendidikan karakter. Analisa data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode tafsir mawdhu’i yaitu mengkaji surah al-Fatihah dan mengumpulkan ayat-ayat yang berkenaan pendidikan karakter. Hasil penelitian ini adalah menunjukkan adanya dua konsep pendidikan karakter dalam surah al-Fâtihah, yaitu uluhiyah dan rububiyah. Sedangkan metode yang ditemukan dalam surah al-Fâtihah, yaitu metode pembiasaan, keteladanan, kasih sayang, pemberian hadiah dan hukuman, dan bercerita/kisah. Dari penelitian ini, ditemukan adanya relevansi antara konsep dan metode pendidikan karakter dalam surah al-Fatihah dengan penguatan pendidikan karakter bahwa keduanya memiliki konsep menanamkan nilai-nilai keyakinan dan ketuhanan dalam pendidikan karakter dengan metode pembiasaan, keteladanan, kasih sayang, pemberian hadiah dan hukuman, serta bercerita/kisah.Kata kunci: Konsep, Surah al-Fatihah, dan Karakter

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the comparison of Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite and Review (PQ4R) and Experience-Text-Relationship (ETR) strategies on Students’ Reading Comprehension. The research design was quasi-experimental by comparing two strategies, and two experimental groups with pre-test and post-test design. This research involves 64 participants which consisted of 32 students from experimental group 1 and experimental group 2 at SMP Plus Terpadu Pekanbaru. There were 3 research questions with 3 hypothesis proposed in this research in order to identify the significant difference between the effect of using PQ4R and ETR Strategies on students’ reading comprehension. Pre-test and post-test were administered in this study to two experimental groups. Independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test were used to analyzed the data. he research finding indicated that there was no significant difference of post-test mean score between an experimental group 1 which was taught by using PQ4R and ETR Strategies on students’ reading comprehension. The contribution of PQ4R strategy to improve students’ reading comprehension was 83% while ETR strategy was 85%. Finally, it can be concluded that both PQ4R and ETR Strategies can be implemented in improving Students’ Reading Comprehension at SMP Plus Terpadu PekanbaruKeyword: Reading Comprehension, PQ4R Strategy, ETR Strategy.

 AbstrakTulisan ini membahas tentang takhrij hadis yang berjudul tentang fitrah dan amplikasinya dalam perkembangan manusia. Secara khusus, tulisan ini membahas tentang fitrah seorang anak ketika sebelum dilahirkan kedunia, dan perkembangannya ketika hidup didunia dalam beragama. Abstract

This descriptive research was carried out aimed to find out the kinds of apology strategies used by English Education Students at IPTS Padangsidimpuan and the reasons for using it. This research is a single case study, namely descriptive qualitative research which means that qualitative research has described quality. Data were taken from DCT (Discourse Completion Test) and interview. The test covers situations about violations in daily life. The research participants are sixth semester English Education Students at IPTS (Institut Pendidikan Tapanuli Selatan) who have graduated in Pragmatics course. They consist of 2 classes; A and B, and by using purposive sampling technique, as many as 10 students were selected to become participants. From the results of data analysis, as many as 10 situations given to participants, there are there are 5 known strategies used by students namely; Promise patience, indirect apology / acknowledgment of responsibility, offer of improvement, explanation or account and direct apology / expression of apology with various sub categories. and for each other's reasons. Of the strategies used by students, the strategy most often used is indirect apology / recognition of responsibility four times in situations 2, 4, 5, and 6. Keywords: Pragmatics, Speech Act, Apologies, Apology Strategies.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSaat ini sampah telah menjadi bagian dari kehidupan manusia. Hidup berkisar dari ruang lingkup individu hingga ruang lingkup global. Setiap saat dari kegiatan kami terkait dengan sampah. Sampah organik telah sering diperiksa dan diteliti, tetapi dalam praktiknya hanya sedikit hasil penelitian yang telah diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Salah satu aplikasi hasil penelitian adalah penggunaan briket sampah. Penggunaan briket sampah telah dibatasi oleh, antara lain, tidak adanya kompor adaptif. Oleh karena itu, perlu mengoptimalkan desain kompor Orgen (Energi Sampah Organik). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk memberikan gambaran tentang cara membuat kompor Orgen tembikar, (2) untuk memberikan gambaran tentang cara membuat modifikasi kompor Orgen, dan (3) untuk membandingkan efektivitas kompor Orgen.Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimen. Tahap pertama adalah membuat briket sampah dan briket arang sampah. Briket sampah dibuat dengan menumbuk sampah menjadi bubuk, mencampurnya dengan pati, dan kemudian mengeringkannya. Sementara itu, briket arang sampah dibuat melalui karbonisasi, yaitu arang yang dicampur dengan pati dibentuk, dicetak, dan kemudian dikeringkan. Fase kedua adalah membuat kompor Orgen. Mereka adalah (1) kompor Orgen tembikar yang terbuat dari tanah liat dan kemudian dipanggang dalam bentuk "kubah", (2) kompor perapian ganda, dan (3) kompor Orgen yang dimodifikasi dibuat dengan memodifikasi kompor modern menggunakan stainless steel. Untuk menguji keefektifan kedua kompor Orgen dilakukan dengan memanaskan ½ liter air dan 1 liter air, menggoreng tempe, dan memasak ¼ kg beras. Hasilnya diperoleh dengan menghitung waktu yang dibutuhkan (menit) dan kemudian dibandingkan. Waktu tercepat adalah kompor Orgen yang paling efektif.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) briket sampah dan briket arang sampah dapat dibuat dengan cara yang sederhana, murah dan dapat digunakan sebagai energi alternatif, dan (2) kompor Orgen dapat dibuat dengan cara mudah, murah dan dapat digunakan untuk memasak briket yang terbuat dari sampah dan arang sampah, (3) kompor Orgen yang direkomendasikan untuk memasak, berdasarkan tingkat efektifitas secara berurutan, adalah model “kubah”, perapian ganda, dan kompor modifikasi. Kata kunci: pembuatan briket sampah dan briket arang sampah, modifikasi kompor Orgen, efektivitas kompor Orgen

Abstract

Predicting readability level of reading texts can help the teachers to match the texts with student’s grade. The appropriate reading text is expected to ease the students in comprehending the material. This research focused on the readability level of English reading material found in English textbook entitled Bahasa Inggris for first grade of Senior High School Published by Curriculum and Books Center, Research and Development Agency, Ministry of Education and Culture. This study attempts to find out whether the reading materials are appropriate or not in terms of readability level for the target students. This research used descriptive quantitative design. The object of the research is English textbook entitled Bahasa Inggris for First Grade of Senior High School published by Curriculum 2013. The textbook consists fifteen chapters which contained kinds of reading materials such as dialogue and reading texts. The researcher only focuses on analyzing the reading materials. There are three kinds of genre found in this book, they are descriptive, recount and narrative. The data were collected by using document analysis. In calculating readability level, the researcher employed the Flesch Reading Ease (FRE) formula. The results of the study showed that there were 9 reading texts in the Bahasa Inggris textbook. From those 9 texts found that there were 3 descriptive texts, 4 recount texts, and 2 narrative texts. According to the analysis using Flesch Reading Ease (FRE) formula, the researcher found that there were 3 texts in Fairly Easy level, 3 texts in Fairly Difficult level, and 3 texts in Difficult level. In average, the texts are in Fairly Difficult level (57,3). Based on the theory of Flesch Reading Ease (FRE) formula, it is found that the texts are in the appropriate level for tenth grade students.Keyword: Readability level, Reading Material, Textbook.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was found out the influence of Students’ Attitude and Perception on Implementing the Scientific Approach Toward their English Achievement at SMA Muhammadiyah 11 Padangsidimpuan. This study was a correlational research design of expo facto using two independent variables and one dependent variable, Students’ attitude (X1) and Perception (X2) were independent variables, and English achievement (Y) as dependent variable. Three research questions were stated in this research. There were 41 respondents of the eleventh grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah 11 Padangsidimpuan. Total sampling was used in this research because the number of students was not so many. Data of students’ attitude and perception were collected using questionnaires of Likert’s scale, while the students’ achievement was taken from a documented data. The data were analysed by using Product-Moment formula and the analysis of variance for multiple regressions data. Three hypotheses were stated in this research. The result of the first hypothesis is showed that students’ attitude toward English achievement had more significant influence compared to the second hypothesis of the influence of the students’ perception through scientific approach on students’ English achievement. At last, the finding can be concluded that there were significant influences of students’ attitude and perception toward the English achievement of the students at SMA Muhammadiyah 11 Padangsidimpuan. Keyword: Students’ attitude, perception, scientific approach, English achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore which strategy that required a teacher for a better learning process in improving students’ reading comprehension in the eleventh grade at state senior high school Tualang. It was done based on experimental design which focused on the quantitative research group. A group were taken as experimental groups and a group as the comparison group. The sample consisted of 60 students that were taken from the eleventh grade at state senir high school Tualang which were comprised of 30 students from XI-4class for this experimental group 1  (Classwide Peer Tutoring Technique), 30 students from XI-5 class for this experimental group 2 (Student Team Achievement Technique).Observation sheets and reading comprehension tests were used in the study. There are 40 items of multiple choice questions used for the pre-test and post-test.  To analyze the data, independent sample t-test were calculated by using SPSS 20 with a significant probability of Ho was accepted if P<0.05 or there was no significant effect after giving the treatments, Ha was accepted if P>0.05 or there was no significant effect after giving the treatments. Classwide Peer Tutoring Technique got the effect size or eta-squared as follows: Eta-squared = 0.84x 100% = 84%. Student Team Achievement Technique got the effect size or eta-squared as follows: Eta-squared = 0.91 x 100% = 91%. The highest effect was from Student Team Achievement Technique, but the two classes did not differ significantly. Therefore, the two strategies could improve the students’ reading comprehension.

Abstract

This research was instigated by the lack of availability teaching materials that could help students in the learning process, and the unavailability of using student workbook Learning Cycle 5E based.  This research aimed at knowing the validity and practicality level ofstudent workbook Learning Cycle 5E based on Buffer Solution lesson.  It was R&D (Research and Development) with 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) model.  It was administered at State Senior High School 10 Pekanbaru.  The subjects of this research were student workbook media design experts, learning material experts, chemistry subject teachers, and students.  The object was student workbook Learning Cycle 5E based on Buffer Solution lesson.  The data were obtained directly from questionnaire.  The instruments of collecting the data were validity and practicality test questionnaires.  The data then were analyzed by using Descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques.  The produced workbook was tested, and it was valid with 90.9% percentage (very valid), and practical with 90.66% percentage (very practical).  Based on these results, it could be concluded thatstudent workbook Learning Cycle 5E basedwas valid and practical on Buffer Solution lesson, so it was appropriate to be an additional teaching material for teachers at school.

Abstract

Tujuan pembuatan jurnal ini untuk mengetahui permainan tradisonal cublak-cublak suweng dari D.I Yogyakarta, dan pembentukan karakter tanggung jawab pada peserta didik. Mengetahui metode pelaksanaan permainan cublak-cublek suweng yang dapat membentuk karakter tanggung jawab pada peserta didik. Subjek jurnal adalah jurnal-jurnal penelitian serta web yang membahas permainan cublak-cublak suweng yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan keaslian dan kebenarannya. Ruang lingkup dalam jurnal ini meliputi guru sekolah dasar, anak-anak sekolah dasar, dan masyarakat sekitar yang mengenal permainan ini, serta peran pemerintah dalam melestarikan permainan cublak-cublak suweng dan mengaplikasikannya pada sekolah dasar pada saat ini.Jurnal ini dilakukan untuk Menjelaskan apakah permainan cublak-cublak suweng pada era sekarang dapat memberikan rasa senang setelah dimainkan dan dampak yang terjadi setelah dimainkan 1) Pengenalan apa itu cublak-cublak suweng dan bagaimana cara memainkannya. 2) Pelaksanaan model cublak-cublek suweng yang dapat mengembangkan karakter tanggung jawab pada peserta didik, 3) Keefektifan permainan cublak-cublak suweng dalam membentuk karakter tanggung jawab pada peserta didik. 4) apa saja dampak yang diberikan jika terus dimainkan berulang-ulang.
