Abstract

Childbirth is a physiological process or the process of expelling viable products of conception from the uterus to the outside world, thus enabling the mother to give birth to her fetus through the birth canal. There are several aspects related to pain during labor and can affect the birth process itself. Treatment uses non-pharmacological methods such as relaxation, warm compresses, yoga and one of which is using massage methods to reduce pain, one of which is back massage and endorphin massage. This study aimed to find out the effect of endorphin massage on the intensity of back pain in laboring mothers during the first active phase in Tegallega Village, Warungkondang District, Cianjur Regency. This study is an experimental research with a one group pre-test post-test design. This research only involves one group of subjects who will be observed before and after the intervention. The average intensity of pain before endorphin massage was given to mothers giving birth was 8.23. Meanwhile, the average value of the intensity of back pain in women giving birth after being given endorphin massage was 7.23. This shows that the intensity of back pain in mothers giving birth during the first active phase before endorphin massage was given to mothers giving birth during the first active phase in Tegallega Village decreased. There is an effect of giving endorphin massage on the intensity of back pain in mothers giving birth during the first active phase.

The low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is a challenge for midwives to be more active in promoting health about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for baby growth. This low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding can have an impact on the quality of life of the nation's future generations and also on the national economy. One effort to increase the rate of secretion and production of breast milk is through giving katuk leaves. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of katuk leaves on breast milk production in postpartum mothers. This study is an experimental research with a pre-post-test approach with control group design. A total of 30 research subjects were included in this study, where the research subjects were given an intervention with 200 mg katuk leaf extract given 1x200 mg for 7 days, where the assessment of breast milk production was carried out before and after the intervention. This study shows that the intervention of giving katuk leaf extract is effective in increasing breast milk production. There was an increase in breast milk production after giving katuk leaf extract and it was stated to be statistically different, p<0.05. In conclusion, there is an effect of giving katuk leaves on breast milk production for postpartum mothers at the Wanayasa Health Center, Purwakarta Regency, Indonesia.

Abstract

Effleurage is a massage technique commonly used in relaxation massage and therapeutic massage. This technique involves massaging the surface of the skin gently and repeatedly using the palms of the hands or fingers. Effleurage is usually used as part of an initial massage to prepare the client's body before deeper massage techniques are used. The gentle, rhythmic movements of effleurage help relax clients physically and mentally. This light, regular touch helps reduce muscle tension and improves blood circulation. Effleurage is used to warm up muscles and joints before a deeper massage. This helps prevent injury and makes the muscles more responsive to more intensive massage techniques. This study aimed to determine the potential of effleurage massage on the scale of back pain in third trimester pregnant women at TPMB (Midwife Independent Practice) Ratna Dewi Gunung Putri District, Bogor Regency, Indonesia. This research is an experimental research with a one group pretest-posttest design approach and uses primary data which was obtained using an assessment instrument in the form of the numeric rating scale (NRS) to determine the level of back pain in pregnant women. A total of 30 research subjects participated in this study, where the research subjects met the inclusion criteria. The research was conducted at TPMB (Midwife Independent Practice) Ratna Dewi, Gunung Putri District, Bogor Regency, Indonesia. This study shows that massage effleurage intervention is effective in reducing the intensity of back pain in pregnant women in the third trimester. Abstract

Red ginger can be used as a natural ingredient in making potions used to treat perineal wounds. This study aimed to determine the effect of the consumption of red ginger extract on the intensity of the pain scale for perineal laceration wounds in postpartum mothers in the working area of Jalancagak Health Center, Subang Regency, Indonesia. This study is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest and post-test with a control group research design. This study used two groups, namely a control group and an intervention group. The pain scale was measured before (pretest) in the intervention and control groups and after (posttest) in the control and intervention groups. The intervention group was given red ginger extract and still received standard management procedures in the form of analgesics, while the control group was only given standard management procedures. A total of 30 research subjects took part in this study and were grouped into a control group and an intervention group. Administration of red ginger extract showed the potential to reduce pain intensity statistically significantly, p<0.05. Similar results were also shown in the control group, where placebo administration was able to reduce pain intensity statistically significantly, p<0.05. The reduction in pain intensity was more optimal in the treatment group compared to the control group, p<0.05. In conclusion, there is an effect of the consumption of red ginger extract on the intensity of the pain scale for perineal laceration wounds in postpartum mothers in the working area of Jalancagak Health Center, Subang Regency, Indonesia.
