Abstract

Learning motivation encourages the desire to learn so that students achieve success in school and in the future. The success achieved by students in learning cannot be separated from the role of parents in nurturing. This study was an evaluation of student learning motivation based on the parenting style conducted at SMPN 1 Matangkuli, North Aceh. This research is an observational study with a qualitative approach. The participants in this study were students of SMP Negeri 1 Matangkuli, North Aceh district, and their parents. A total of six students and their parents participated in this study. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Interviews were conducted in a semi-structured manner with children and parents about the parenting style used in the family. The results showed that children with democratic parenting have a strong learning motivation. In this study, it was also found that all aspects of learning motivation were owned and experienced by the six participants. In conclusion, students' learning motivation is related to the parenting style they experience in their families. There are three parenting styles applied by parents, namely, authoritarian, democratic, and permissive parenting.

Abstract

Typhoid fever is one of the cases of infection that still tends to be high in Indonesia. There is a role for IgG antibodies in the clinical condition of typhoid fever patients. The immune status of an individual is largely determined by nutritional status and age. This study aimed to determine the relationship between age and nutritional status and length of stay of typhoid fever patients at Dr. Soehadi Prijonegoro General Hospital, Sragen, Indonesia. This study was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 106 subjects participated in this study. Univariate and bivariate analyses were performed on this study data using SPSS. There is a relationship between age and length of stay, where age over and/or equal to 30 years is at risk of getting longer care than patients who are less than 30 years old. This study also shows that there is no relationship between nutritional status and length of stay of typhoid fever patients.

Abstract

Mathematics is still one of the subjects that is less attractive to students. Students often think that mathematics is difficult or even boring. The posing method is one of the efforts that can be developed in order to be a solution in the process of teaching mathematics so that mathematics is no longer something difficult and frightening. A posing method is an approach to learning mathematics where students are not only oriented to solving a problem. However, students participate in making questions. This study aimed to determine the potential of the posing method in improving mathematics learning outcomes in grade IX-G students of SMPN 244 Jakarta, Indonesia. This study is an experimental study with a pre-post test design approach. A total of 36 research subjects participated in this study. The posing method intervention in this study consisted of 2 cycles, with 2 meetings in each cycle. Furthermore, re-intervention and evaluation of the implementation of cycle II as in cycle I. The success of the posing method is carried out by assessing student learning outcomes. Data analysis was carried out in a univariate manner by comparing the average and frequency of student learning outcomes. The results of the study showed that there was a shift in learning outcomes from those that were initially at a score of 5 and then experienced improvement after the posing method was applied to the majority of scores 8 and 9. In conclusion, the posing method has the potential to improve mathematics learning outcomes in grade IX-G students of SMPN 244 Jakarta, Indonesia.

Poor adherence will be a source of psychological and medical complications and have an impact on the quality of life of patients, waste health care resources, and reduce individual trust in the health care system. This study aimed to determine the relationship between medication adherence counseling efforts and adherence to hypertension medication taking at Sekar Gembong clinic, Pati, Indonesia. This study is an experimental study, where as many as 50 research subjects participated in this study. Adherence assessment of drugs was carried out with MMAS-8. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS univariate and bivariate. Providing medication adherence counseling improved the level of adherence of research subjects to taking antihypertensive medication, where there was a decrease in the MMAS-8 score after counseling was given compared to before counseling was given, p<0.05. In conclusion, there is a relationship between giving medication adherence counseling and adherence to antihypertensive drugs at Sekar Gembong clinic, Pati, Indonesia.
