Abstract

Tooth function is helping the function of spech, face shape, and tools of mastication. Early tooth development occurs during a six-week-old fetus. Diet in pregnant women can affect fetal growth and development of teeth. Prevention of tooth decay in baby begins before birth and  continues  after birth.  Caries and  periodontal  disease  is  dental and oral diseases  are  most  commonly  suffered.  This  literature  study  aims  to   determine            the  nutrition  of pregnant women as a cause of dental caries. Malnutrition during pregnancy can cause serious problems, including email hypoplasia. Enamel hypoplasia is an incomplete form from enamel. Enamel hypoplasia is clinically meaningful cause tooth decay and caries affecting vulnerability. Dental caries affects on weight loss, growth, and quality of life in children - preschoolers.  Prevention of dental caries can done pre-eruption and post-eruption of the teeth. Conclusion: malnutrition during pregnancy can cause enamel hypoplasia. Enamel hypoplasia susceptible to caries. Dental caries affects on weight loss, growth, and quality of life in children - preschoolers, which in turn lowers the quality of human resources

Abstract

Bad breath (halitosis) ia a problem that concern almost everyone. Bad breath is not uncommon to distance the owner of the association in his neighborhood. Halitosis is a term used to describe unpleasant breath odor emitted when breathing (http://wikipedia.org). Halitosis is estimated about 50%-65% of the population (http://indrax.wordpress.com). The main cause of halitosis is bacteria and VSC’s. Ninety percent of patients had halitosis from the mouth causes such as as poor oral hygiene, periodontal disease, a layer on the surface tongue, impacted food, dirty dentures, mouth cancer, and sore throat (The California Breath Clinic).Several method for measuring halitosis, as follows: organoleptic test, chromatogaraphy gas. halimeter, Bana testing, and chemiluminescence (http://www.animated-teeth.com).Prof. Mel Rosenberg. Ph.D  from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Tel Aviv (citet Chudahman Manan), recommends halitosis prevention by: 1)consult to the dentist regularly. 2)clean between teeth  with dental floss, choose a neutral unscented. Check the smell. Clean again if smell. 3)brush your teeth and gums clean regularly. 4)a lot of dringking. 5)sugar free chewing gum for 1-2 minutes, especially if the mouth feels dry. 6)rinse and brush your teeth after eating or drinking milk product, fish, and meat. 7)ask your dentist which mouthwash clinically proven its effectiveness in combating bad breath. Its best to use it just before sleep at night. 8)eat fresh and has fibers vegetables. 9)do not smoke because it heightens the risk of bad breath. 10)if you wear dentures, at night soak dentures in antiseptic solution, unless you forbid dentist.The conclusion is: halitosis or bad breath can develop all the people. The main source of halitosis is in the mouth, that is  the volatile sulphur compounds (VSC’s). This compounds is produced from decomposition of protein by anaerobic bacteria.

Abstract

Primary preventive measures to prevent oral and dental diseases can be carried out especially by individuals. Dental and oral hygiene measures can be done by individuals by brushing teeth. in addition to behavioral factors, there are also other factors that affect health is perception. A person's age and maturity can influence perception. The results of Ni Luh Made Yudari's research at Tampaksiring II Puskesmas dental clinic concluded that the people who visited and had already treated at the Tampaksiring II Puskesmas Dental Clinic had the most perceptions with good criteria. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between perceptions of dental and oral health maintenance with age in people who had already taken care at the Dental Clinic II Tampaksiring in 2016. The type of cross sectional study, used secondary data from Ni Luh Made Yudari research. Spearmen correlation test between the age variable and the perception variable, obtained sig .: 0.280. there was no relationship between the age variable and the perception variable in the community who had taken care at the Tampaksiring II Dental Clinic in 2016.

Abstract

Oral health of the pregnant mother affects the condition of the baby it contains. Pregnant women who suffer from periodontal infection are at risk of giving birth to babies with low birth weight and are premature. Early pregnancy usually pregnant women experience lethargy, nausea and sometimes until vomiting. Increased plaque because it is lazy to maintain cleanliness, will accelerate tooth decay. Ni Kadek Ayu Sukartini's research results at the Klungkung I Health Center obtained the average level of dental and oral hygiene in pregnant women in the first, second and third trimester criteria. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between dental and oral hygiene with trimester of pregnancy in pregnant women who visited the Klungkung I Health Center in Klungkung Regency in 2016. This type of cross sectional study used secondary data from Ni Kadek Ayu Sukartini's research. Spearman's correlation test. Spearman’s test results obtained sig value: 0.426. Conclusions there is no relationship between the trimester of pregnancy with the oral hygiene of pregnant women who visited the Health Center Klungkung I in 2016.

Abstract

Oral health disorders will have an impact on one's performance. There are three factors that influence a person's behavior, namely predisposing factors, supporting factors, and reinforcing factors. Health behavior is divided into three namely, attitudes, actions and knowledge. Knowledge is a very important domain for the formation of one's actions. Ni Ketut Anggi Rismayanti's 2016 study at SDN 17 Dauh Puri Denpasar showed that most students had the ability to brush teeth quite as many as 24 people (58.53%) and 22 students (52.65%) had sufficient levels of dental and oral hygiene knowledge. . The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of tooth brushing behavior with the level of dental and oral hygiene knowledge in fifth grade students of SDN 17 Dauh Puri Denpasar in 2016. This type of cross sectional study used secondary data from Ni Ketut Anggi Rismayanti's research. Spearmen correlation test between the variables of tooth brushing behavior with the level of dental and oral hygiene knowledge obtained sig. 0,000. Conclusion there is a relationship between variable brushing behavior with the level of dental and oral hygiene knowledge.

Abstract

The 2013 Basic Health Research in the Province of Bali showed that the population with dental and mouth problems in the last 12 months in Bali was 24.0%. While Badung Regency is in the top four positions at 31.6%. Brushing teeth is the main action to clean plaque. Plaque plays a role in the pathogenicity of caries and periodontal disease. Ni Kadek Indrayani's research on grade IV students at SD N 5 Benoa in 2016, obtained results that were before being given counseling 90% of students behaved brushing incorrectly. Then after being given counseling 85% of students behave correctly. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of dental and mouth health education to change the behavior of tooth brushing on fourth grade students at SDN 5 Benoa Badung Regency 2016. This type of cross sectional study, uses secondary data from Ni Kadek Indrayani's research. Chi square test results, showed the value of sig. 0,000. The conclusion of counseling is effective in changing the behavior of brushing teeth in grade IV SDN 5 Benoa Badung Regency in 2016.
