Abstract

Catfish (Pangasius hyphothalmus) is one type of freshwater economicalfish that begins developed by fish farmers to cultivation. Catfish are easy to breed, easy maintenance and fast growth. The problem that often be faced in catfishcultivation is the high price of fish diets. One source ingredient used in theformulation of the diet is soybean meal, but the price is relatively expensivebecause of the imported commodity. To reduce dependence on soybean meal, it isnecessary to find an alternative source of local commodity are easily obtained, continuous availability, and have high nutritional value, namely the use velvetbean meal (Mucuna pruriens). The research was aimed to study the utilization ofvelvet bean meal as substitution of soybean meal on diets to the growth of catfishfingerlings. A completely randomized design was five treatments and threereplications. The treatments used applied 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% velvet beanmeal percentation. Data were analyzed by using ANOVA. The result showeds thattreatment of diet did not give significant influence to the growth of catfishfingerlings. It can be concluded that the velvet bean meal can be used to substitutesoybean meal on diets to the growth of catfish fingerlings from substitution rate of25% to 100%. The best percentage is level substitution 75 % velvet bean meal +25% soybean meal.

Abstract

Transferring periodically of rearing shrimp between plots of land, anaquaculture technology to increase productivity of shrimp pond, was calledmodular system. The research was applied on 15 pond with 250 m2 of each thatwas separated on 3 category including A, B and C categories. 4, 6 and 8 larva/m2(PL40) was distributed on each of A, B and C category. During 90 rearing days, the larvae were supplied by means of production such as dolomite, organicmanure of chicken fesses and pathogen/pest control (saponim). The B – categoryshowed the highest average product of 19,36 kg/plot while C – category of 16,69kg/plot and A – category of 15,73 kg/plot. While the best production was shownby A- category, 4 larva/m2 , with total average product was 15,73 kg/ 250 m2 if theproduction conversed to 1 ha, the highest product is in A- category/treatment (4larva/m2), with average benefit cost is Rp. 21.494.250,- per season . B/C ratioanalysis shows point number higher than 1, which indicated that the aquaculturewith modular system is potential to implement. Suggested that larva content onaquaculture activities of tiger prawn in brackish ponds without water wheel(kincir) is 4 larva/m2.

Abstract

Intercropping pond is a mix between ponds and mangrove forests thathave been developed by farmers because it has a double advantage in additionto participating in the rehabilitation of mangrove forests, can also be used foraquaculture. The research objective was to determine the dynamics of severalwaterqualityparameters onthecultivationof tigergrouper(Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) in ponds intercropping pattern of trenches in the areaof mangrove ponds with different stocking solid. Intercroppingponds usedmeasuring 10 x 120 m2 planted mangrove trees with a spacing of 2-4 perm2and has over 10 years old. Pond is sealed with a waring (0.3 inch diameter) into 9units of research plots measuring 10 x 10 m2. Test animals used were tigergrouper seed weight and the average length of the initial 54.18 g / 13.53 cm tailand stocked with different densities, namely A). 10 tail /100 m2 (1000 fish/ ha); B). 20 tail /100 m2(2,000 fish / ha) and C). 40 tail /100 m2 (4,000 fish/ ha). Water quality parameters are monitored is dissolved oxygen, temperature, salinity, pH, Total Organic Materials (BOT), ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.Data were analyzed descriptively with the help of graphs. The results showedthat the range of water quality parameters (except salinity) during themaintenance is in the range of a decent life for growth and tiger grouper. Finalweight ranged tiger from 94.50 to 114.2 g / tail and the survival rate of 62-90%.

Abstract

Tambaqui fish much culture in Indonesia because have a fast growth andresistant to diseases. The latest aquaculturist problem is the high price of fishfeed. One of materials used in fish feed formulation is soybean meal which is veryexpensive, because it is an import basic commodity. One of alternative toovercome these problems is to replace with local raw materials such as rubberseed meal with a potentially lower the cost of feed production. The research tostudy the effect of rubber seed meal as a substitution of soy bean meal. Theresearch was conducted by using completed random design with six treatment andthree replications that which had different level comparation of soy bean meal andrubber seed meal, as follows A (45% : 0%); B (40% : 5%); C (30% : 15%); D(20% : 25%); E (10% : 35%) and F (0% : 45%). The data was analysed by Anovaand continued with least significantly different test (P>0,05). The rubber seedmeal as a substitution of soy bean meal were not significantly different on thegrowth rate. The rubber seed meal 5% it can be concluded, substitution of soybean meal 40% with 5% rubber as a substitute for soybean meal in feed to a hadthe growth (9,9 g) were not significantly different (P>0,05) with the used of feedis no substitution of rubber seed meal (10,2 g) of tambaqui fish. substitution ofsoy bean meal with rubber seed meal at level 5% can be used as feed formulationof tambaqui fish.
