Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical creative thinking abilities of junior high school students in terms of reflective, impulsive, and gender cognitive styles. The research method is descriptive qualitative, using a purposive sampling technique with 4 students in class VII SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsari as subjects. While the instruments used are the Matching Familiar Figure Test (MFFT) and tests of creative thinking skills. The results showed that subjects who were male with a reflective cognitive style (SRL) met two indicators of creative thinking ability, namely flexibility and elaboration with an average percentage score of mathematical creative thinking ability achieved by SR1 was 58.33% in the creative level category. obtained is quite creative. Female gender subjects with a reflective cognitive style (SRP) fulfill all three indicators in creative thinking skills, namely fluency, flexibility, and elaboration, with an average percentage score of mathematical creative thinking ability achieved by SRP is 91.66% with the creative level category obtained, namely very creative. Male gender subjects with an impulsive cognitive style (SIL) do not meet the indicators of creative thinking abilities. And female gender subjects with impulsive cognitive style (SIP) fulfill two indicators of creative thinking skills, namely flexibility, and elaboration.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the process of developing an e-module based on brain balance to improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities on geometric sequences and series. The development of this e-module uses the Whole Brain Teaching (WBT) method, which is a brain balance method. The applications used in e-module development are Microsoft Office Word and Flip PDF Professional. This research is development research (Research and Development). The development model used in this research is the Plomp model which consists of three phases, namely the Preliminarity Phase, the Development or Prototype Phase, and the Assessment Phase. The instruments used in this research are validation sheets, practicality sheets and the N Gain Test instrument to see the effectiveness of the e-module. Based on the results of validation tests carried out by six media and material expert validators, the average score was 94.77% and was categorized as very valid. Meanwhile, based on the results of the e-module practicality test conducted on teachers and students, the average score was 91.3% and was categorized as very good. Based on the N Gain test carried out in class e-module is categorized as medium.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the types of errors made by students in solving questions on quadratic equations based on castolan theory. The subjects of this research were 14 class X students. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The instruments used are test sheets and documentation. Based on the results of this research, it shows that students make mistakes when solving quadratic equation problems. The types of errors made are conceptual errors and procedural errors. Students make the most conceptual mistakes, such as incorrectly doing factoring, incorrectly determining variables x and constants, incorrectly writing quadratic formulas, and incorrectly writing circumference formulas. This is due to students' lack of understanding of concepts in solving mathematics problems so that teachers have an important role in minimizing the errors that students often make.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of learning style and emotional intelligence on mathematical problem solving abilities on the subject of trigonometry comparisons in the 2013 curriculum learning. Quantitative research using the Expost Facto method. The sample in this study was 91 MA Putra Al-Ishlahuddiny class X students using random sampling technique. The research instruments used were a learning styles questionnaire, an emotional intelligence questionnaire and a mathematical problem solving ability test. Based on the results of the two-way ANOVA test, the following results were obtained: (1) There was no influence of students' learning styles on mathematical problem solving abilities in trigonometry material for MA Putra Al-Ishlahuddiny students. (2) There is an influence of students' emotional intelligence on mathematical problem solving abilities in the trigonometry material of MA Putra Al-Ishlahuddiny students. (3) There is no interaction effect between learning style and students' emotional intelligence on mathematical problem solving abilities in trigonometry material for MA Putra Al-Ishlahuddiny students.
