Abstract

Good service from a bank will be an added value to improve the company's image and is directly proportional to customer loyalty. Customer loyalty can prevent customers from switching to using services from other companies. This study aims to examine the role of the mediating variable, customer loyalty, which relates to the effect of company image and trust on customer intention to switch. The object of this research is the customer of Bank Muamalat Indonesia. After reviewing the literature and formulating hypotheses, the data collected through the questionnaire method were 213 respondents from Bank Muamalat Indonesia customers. The sampling applied the convenience sampling technique. The data obtained were then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), while the hypothesis test used the Smart-PLS 3.0 application. This study indicates that loyalty can fully mediate the influence of company image and trust on switching intention. Creating loyalty means building customer image and trust as a company investment in the long term. Managers need to build corporate image and customer trust to compete in Indonesia's financial industry.

Abstract

A regulatory review of Islamic banking laws concept and practice in Nigeria under conventional banking regulatory laws need to be reviewed and investigated. Sharia Regulatory laws have provided sufficient laws and practices for Islamic Financial Institutions to be integrated into Nigeria's existing system of the non-interest bank and Islamic windows. In light of the above, establishing the Financial Regulation Advisory Council of Experts (FRACE), the Advisory Committee of Experts (ACE), the Sharia Advisory Board (SAB), and the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act (BOFIA) to promote the Sharia Governance of Islamic Financial Institutions, businesses, and institutions in Nigeria. This employed cognate narrative and approach review to deduce and examine lacunae in the applicable laws and assess the scholarly perception of ethical financing in the Islamic Financial Institutions sector. The study employed Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Consequently, the results revealed the positive relationship between the FRACE, ACE, SAB, and BOFIA in promoting regulatory and prudential assessment toward Sharia Governance of Islamic Financial Institutions in Nigeria. The application of laws and insufficient and inefficacious practice of its application generate an awkward practice of Islamic banking, and its windows in conventional banks and other Islamic financial Institutions are practically concerned and measured for Sharia suitability. Thus, establishment and regulatory laws will enhance Islamic Financial Institution practices and ensure equal treatment and great concern as conventional financial institutions in the country.

Abstract

Pricing is one of the major components of businesses. Retailers have adopted different pricing modes due to the need to devise sustainable pricing strategies. This is one of the reasons for the development of psychological pricing. Psychological pricing has adverse effects on Muslim retailers and consumers due to their involvement in zulm (deception). Therefore, this study examined the implications of psychological pricing on Muslim retailers and consumers in Nigeria. The paper adopted qualitative and analytical methods. The qualitative method was used to review related literature, while the analytical method was used to examine and analyse the implications of psychological pricing. This study found that psychological pricing is used for profit maximization through deception. Psychological pricing has led to the involvement of Muslim retailers and consumers in vices such as deception, lying, and trickery. This paper concluded that psychological pricing affects the spiritual and moral lives of Muslim retailers and consumers. The paper recommended that Muslim retailers and consumers adopt and accept other pricing strategies that do not involve ambiguity and deception. They are also encouraged to use credit cards in order to avoid paying beyond the tagged price of a commodity.

Abstract

The concept of entrepreneurship is not unique in Islam, as observed from history, that the Prophet and His disciples engaged in it as a respectable profession. Islamic economic academics recently invented the term "Halal entrepreneurship" or "Halalpreneurship" to describe and separate business owners in the Halal market from those in other industries. Islamic ideas are incorporated into business owners in the Halal sector, reshaping them through certain traits that permit the usage of the phrases "Halalpreneurs" and "Halalpreneurship." But defining Halalpreneurship has only been addressed in a few number of scholarly papers. In this sense, this chapter aims to achieve two main objectives. To properly introduce Halal entrepreneurship (Halalpreneurship), it is first necessary to highlight the salient features that distinguish it from other forms of business. Researchers assessed RMSEA levels under 0.05 to be good, between 0.05 and 0.08 to be acceptable, between 0.08 and 0.1 to be marginal, and over 0.1 to be poor, all in accordance with some theoretical underpinnings. Here, all latent item covariance was greater than 0.70, indicating a good match.  One will be able to recognize their position as a Halalpreneur in the Halal industry with the help of such understanding and knowledge. The impact of exposure on the outcome is the direct effect in the absence of the mediator. The effect of exposure on the outcome of mediation is the working indirect pathway.

Abstract

This study aims to retrieve journal articles related to Islamic philanthropy over a span of 16 years and propose new pathways for future research. The study involved a bibliometric analysis of 122 publications on the subject registered in the Scopus database from 2007 to 2023. The bibliometric procedure evaluates research performance and progress within an international impact framework, while Biblioshiny-R and VOSviewer visualize overall research trends in Islamic philanthropy. The results of the study show that Indonesia is the country with the most publications related to Islamic philanthropy. Hilman Latief and Fauzia Amalia are the two leading authors in this field based on the total number of publications and citations. The Journal of Muslim Philanthropy and Civil Society is the journal that has published the most papers on this topic. Some of the author's most recent keywords include "islamic charity; muslim philanthropy; sadaqa; ethics of giving; needy; philanthropy; Islam; zakat; charity; muhammadiyah; islamic; sdgs; food security; wealth," which shows a strong current interest in the study of Islamic philanthropy. This paper is useful to academics, organizations, and policymakers in understanding the general picture of the field of Islamic philanthropy and allows future researchers to see where this study started and trace its shifts over time.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between Islamic entrepreneurship and nonimmigrant Muslims in small venture creation. It seeks to establish whether the motivation of nonimmigrants increases the profile of the Islamic form of entrepreneurship derived from factors affecting nonimmigrant Muslims. The logical paradigm of a self-administered questionnaire in the city of Gwangju was used to generate descriptive data to evaluate the view and attitudes of nonimmigrant Muslims in terms of Islamic forms of entrepreneurship. The study finds that nonimmigrant Muslims sense themselves to be devoted Muslims related to entrepreneurship as a religious and economic activity intended to create income to meet their appreciation and to contribute to the well-being of the Muslim community. Also, the findings similarly invalidate the widespread usual statements that Islam is essentially an anti-entrepreneurial religion derived from the religiously-based of nonimmigrant Muslims. There is a negative and positive balance related to factors affecting the influence of Islamic entrepreneurship among nonimmigrant Muslims. Therefore, this study makes important contributions in terms of theory building within the context of nonimmigrant Muslims.
