Abstract

This research was based on the activities of youth groups in thevillage of Timbang Deli who have the potential to contribute to thecommunity and are seen maximally in carrying out an activity inthe village. The research method used is descriptive qualitative withdata sources taken are primary data, primary data is interviews, andthe second data is secondary data in the form of documentcollection. The purpose of this research is to show that young peoplecan also participate in developing the village with every potentialthey have. The result of this research is that good developmentcommunication can help the form of Karangtaruna empowerment inthe development of a serial village in the village of Timbang Deli,implemented by optimizing the role of youth through villageactivities ranging from small positive activities such as mutualcooperation and other social activities.

Abstract

The pandemic not only presents anxiety about health threats, but alsothe welfare of many employees due to layoffs. Some of small, mediumand even large scale businesses were forced to go out of business.State Islamic University of North Sumatra immediately respondedpositively to the impact that emerged in the community due to theCovid-19 pandemic by holding Community DevelopmentParticipation to online with 4 theme "Awareness and concern for theCovid-19 outbreak, Relation of religion and health properly,religious moderation and Islamic da’wah education". With theStudent Creativity Program scheme KKN-DR and KKN- KS, studentsare expected to be able to actualize their ability to contribute toincreasing productivity and even people's income by providingeducation on how to do activities while adhering to health protocols,sharing knowledge on how to make products that are needed toprotect and increase endurance such as making masks from cloth,hand sanitizer and herbal drink. It is hoped that by sharing thisknowledge, people can remain productive and even open newbusinesses in terms of manufacturing these products to improve theireconomy. The method used is in the form of an explanation of how tomanufacture it along with the tools and materials needed for theproduct mentioned above. The process of making is uploaded tosocial media in the form of a video so that it can be accessed by thewider community. It is hoped that more and more people will remainenthusiastic, productive and even pursue the manufacturing businessof the above products to improve their economy and open up newjobs.

Abstract

This research discusses the empowerment of literacy in thecommunity through street library containers during the Covid19 pandemic in Dolok Masihul District. The purpose of thisresearch is to build reading interest for all people consideringthe condition of the Indonesian society's level of literacy is stillrelatively low. The method in this research is using descriptivequalitative method. The results showed that the level of literacyand reading interest in Dolok Masihul was still low, and thepublic was not very enthusiastic about the existence of this street library.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the fanaticism of K-pop fans onInstagram and to find out how K-pop fans respond to hoaxes andnegative information about their idols. This study uses a qualitativedescriptive method with data collection techniques interview andliterature study. Informants were selected using purposive samplingtechnique. The results show that fan fanaticism on Instagram can beseen through fan activities such as making meanings, various meaningsin the form of interpreting K-pop idol posts as motivation to work,making posts of admiration and pride for their K-pop idols. Hunt byfollowing fansite accounts and making fan fiction and videos. Collectand upload pictures of their official K-pop merchandise and buildknowledge between fans. K-pop is also expressed through fanresponses to hoaxes and negative information from their idols. Theresponse is influenced by the age of fans, knowledge of K-pop culture,environment, time as a K-pop fan. In seeking clarification about thetruth of the negative news, they look for trusted sources such as K-popidols' official Instagram accounts, official Instagram accountmanagement management, major Korean media such as Soompi,Allkpop, and press releases provided by artist management.

Abstract

At the beginning of 2020, people around the world were shocked bythe Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic which caused paniceverywhere. Hundreds of thousands of people were infected andthousands more died. In Indonesia, the government has given appealsto the public by enforcing rules for working from home, worshiping,doing activities and staying at home for the safety and health ofresidents due to the corona virus pandemic which has resulted inbehavioral changes. people now rely on digital technology tocontinue their social life and communicate after the government'spolicy regarding PSBB and physical distancing. Activities are limitedwhere shopping is done from home. Online purchases are becomingmore frequent. This opportunity is certainly used by online stores thatoffer various things to attract consumers, such as ease of shopping,promotions, discounts, purchase bonuses and so on.

Abstract

This research highlights the rapid development of informationtechnology which has given rise to a modern, all-digital life traditionin a number of fields. The use of the internet in the global era as aform of advances in digital technology towards the vision ofmodernization of information is now growing drastically, especiallyin terms of meeting the needs of the information community in thesocio-economic field. Viewed from the business side, the use of theinternet for online media which is usually called social media, one ofwhich is YouTube. Youtube is very profitable for market players,investors, or industry players. In accordance with the formulation ofthe problem above, the purpose of this study is to find out "The roleof Youtube in building brand image communication on mobile phonereview content on the Gagdetin Channel by David Brendi". Theresearch method used is descriptive method, which is a method thatexplains the advantages and disadvantages of cellphone products, theobject of research at this time is based on the facts that appear in thevideo content as it is. This descriptive study only describes the role ofYoutube as a new medium, does not seek or explain relationships,does not test hypotheses or make predictions. The obstacle faced byDavid in building a technology brand image is that it is still difficultto find the audience's need for technology and tastes that are suitableto increase the brand image of an item.

Abstract

Lake Toba is a tourism area in North Sumatra, where interactionsbetween tourists and local communities have an impact on thegrowth of tourism life. The form of interaction varies based on themotivation and actor of the interaction. The first is for businesstransactions, tourists as consumers and business actors as providers.The second occurs when tourists and the public meet at the sametourist attraction, namely a cafe restaurant with the motivation offriendship, finance, and romance. The next interaction occurs whenboth parties seek information, both about tourism, culture andpersonal data. Interactions for transacting tourism occur more often,followed by interactions when tourists and local people meet at cafesor restaurants on Lake Toba. Interactions can then be distinguishedbetween tourists and working people, and with non-working people.Socio-cultural impacts due to these interactions includedemonstrative effects, changes in social values, for example: normschange views on the relationship between men and women,materialistic nature and cultural values in performing arts, culturallearning and tourism culture.

Abstract

Communication and information media is social media in the form ofsocial networks as very effective media, namely communication andinformation media to convey problems or aspirations of thecommunity, especially for areas that have not been fully touched bythe media and are not widely known by the wider community,especially regional officials who are in office This study has thefollowing objectives: First, to describe the characteristics of thedigital era society that uses communication media. Second, describesthe interest of communication media with national development andThird, describes the opportunities and challenges that arise in societyin the digital era. And Fourth, describe the efforts that must be madein the digital era. Socialization Activities Development programs areno longer enough to rely solely on conventional media (newspapers,magazines, etc.). But it must be able to take advantage of internetbased media, so that development communication can beinstantaneous (real time) and two-way (interactive). Abstract

This research was conducted to determine how the meaning ofmasculine women in the animated cartoon film made by PixarAnimation Studio and Walt Disney Pictures was conducted todetermine how the theme of this film is a Princess (Princess), entitledBrave. Where this research will see how the image of masculine womenfrom this Brave film. The subject of this research is the Brave film asseen from its narrative structure. Meanwhile, the research object to beanalyzed is the representation of the meaning of masculine women. Inthis study, the researcher will see how the Brave film will break thestereotypes of a royal princess that is usually displayed by Walt Desney.A royal princess (Princess) is usually seen from several things whichinclude physical appearance (physical appearance), style of dress(fashion), character (character) and interaction with the environment(social interaction). Meanwhile, in the Brave film, the findings showthat women like Princess Merida are constructed as open, brave,strong, independent, and tough. In addition, it also manages tomaintain its unique identity without meeting the expectations anddemands of others.
