About the Journal PHARMACOLOGY, MEDICAL REPORTS, ORTHOPEDIC, AND ILLNESS DETAILS (COMORBID) is an international, modern, general medical publication that publishes research on all aspects of medicine, from fundamental research to significant clinical trials and cost-effectiveness analyses. We generally publish human research that contribute to our understanding of medical epidemiology, etiology, and physiology; the development of prognostic and diagnostic technologies; clinical trials that evaluate the efficacy of particular therapies and comparative trials; and systematic reviews. We want to encourage the conversion of fundamental research into clinical trials and clinical evidence into therapeutic practice. When studies in animal models produce remarkable research findings that are extremely clinically relevant, we publish them on occasion. The international medical community, as well as educators, policymakers, patient advocacy groups, and other interested parties, are among our target audiences. The online edition of COMORBID is updated on a regular basis. Medical Informatics, Basic Science, Clinical Science, Case Report, Brief Communication, Public Health, Public Policy, and Review Articles from all branches of medicine and associated subjects are published in PHARMACOLOGY, MEDICAL REPORTS, ORTHOPEDIC, AND ILLNESS DETAILS (COMORBID)

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic, infectious disease that remains a public health problem in the world, including Indonesia. The rate of compliance with taking medication for TB sufferers at the Kuta Baro Community Health Center, Aceh Besar Regency has not yet met the national target. Taking medication for TB sufferers can be done with several combinations of drugs which are intended to eradicate germs. WHO recommends a DOTS treatment strategy, namely that sufferers take medication by supervising drug swallowing monitors (PMO). The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between PMO (Drug Swallowing Monitor) with the presence of taking medication in Tuberculosis patients. The type of research used is analytical descriptive with a cross sectional approach. The results of 11 respondents who were active in the role of monitoring medication swallowing (PMO) and the majority of respondents adhered to taking medication, 9 (64%). Of the 5 who were not active, it was influenced by the role of the PMO.) From the results of the statistical test, P Value = 0.009 means P Value < 0.05, that there is a relationship between the role of supervisor in taking medication and compliance with taking pulmonary tuberculosis medication at the Kuta Baro Community Health Center, Aceh Besar Regency. From the results of the analysis, it was obtained that the OR value = 13,000, that an active PMO role has a 13 times chance of medication adherence compared to an inactive PMO role.

Abstract

The Ie Seu'um hot springs area is located in Ie Seu'um Village, Mesjid Raya District, Aceh Besar Regency which has hot springs which are visited and used by the local community and tourists as a place for recreation with the family, a bathing place, and a place to boil food. Egg. The aim of this research is to determine and test heavy metals, namely Cadmium (Cd), which may be contained in the Ie Seu'um hot springs. The research used the AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) method. This research method uses a purposive sampling method, while the samples in this study were taken at spring points, namely places where people carry out egg-boiling activities and in holding tanks before the water flows into the bathing tubs. The results obtained for Cadmium (Cd) metal contained in hot springs (A) Ie Seu'um were <0.0005#) and reservoirs (B) were 0.0005#). Based on the maximum standard for Cadmium (Cd) content according to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2023 in the Clean Water Requirements for heavy metals, this heavy metal does not exceed the threshold and is below the detection limit of the test method. It is hoped that the results of this research can become basic information for the public and tourists to always protect the ecosystem of the Ie Seu'um hot spring area and preserve local wisdom.

Abstract

This study focuses on spatial modeling, ecological risk analysis, and human health risk analysis concerning mercury (Hg) pollution in traditional gold mining areas in Gorontalo. The research aims to safeguard both ecological balance and the health of gold mining workers exposed to mercury in wet and dry deposition, as well as dug well water, particularly in burning areas where amalgam gold mining occurs. The study comprises four main stages: sampling and coordinate determination, THg level examination in water and deposition samples, spatial analysis, and ecological and health risk assessments. Unlike previous studies, this research primarily focuses on mercury intake through inhalation of dry deposition and oral ingestion of dug well water from burning amalgam, excluding other exposure routes such as food and skin contact. A comprehensive literature review was conducted using electronic databases such as ScienceDirect, JOVE, Google Scholar, and SpringerLink. The search employed keywords like "Spatial Model," "Hg Pollution," and "Unlicensed Gold Miners," yielding ten relevant articles published between 2016-2022. Findings from previous research highlight different aspects of mercury pollution, including its presence in various environmental mediums and associated health risks. Studies in locations like Indonesia, Mexico, New York, Ghana, and China have explored mercury contamination in water, soil, air, and food, stressing the importance of ecological and health risk assessments. Additionally, spatial modeling techniques have been crucial in mapping mercury distribution, analyzing spatial variations, identifying pollution causes, evaluating health risks, planning environmental management, and guiding monitoring efforts.

Abstract

The Indonesian government introduced the National Health Insurance (JKN) program to ensure basic health coverage for its citizens. However, challenges emerged during its implementation, including difficulties in accessing adequate healthcare services. To address this, the Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS) concept was introduced in select Indonesian hospitals, aiming to deliver equitable services by standardizing rates and quality of care. This narrative literature review assesses the readiness of various hospitals in adopting KRIS. A search was conducted using Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and PubMed with keywords related to hospital readiness for KRIS policy. Screening using the PRISMA method resulted in the inclusion of 4 out of 15 articles. Findings reveal variations in hospital preparedness, with Hospital A, B, C, and D demonstrating readiness levels of 75%, 74%, 75%, and 70%, respectively. Hospital A excelled in criteria 6 and 7 (95%), while struggling in criterion 1 (64%). Hospital B demonstrated strong readiness in criterion 7 (85%) but lacked in criterion 8 (49%). Hospital C performed well in criterion 5 (90%) but poorly in criterion 11 (34%). Hospital D exhibited high readiness in criterion 3 (88%) but lacked in criterion 4 (50%). On average, hospitals displayed 73% readiness, with criterion 3 (87%) achieving the highest readiness, particularly in room lighting, while criterion 4 (55%) showed the lowest readiness, specifically in bed completeness. These findings underscore the need for further improvements to enhance hospital readiness for KRIS implementation.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition where there is an increase in systolic blood pressure ≥ 130 mmHg and diastolic pressure ≥ 80 mmHg. Hypertension is a worldwide health problem that continues to increase. Physical activity is any body movement produced by skeletal muscles and requires energy expenditure. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between physical activity and the degree of hypertension in residents of Lamme village, Jaya sub-district. The research design is using analytical observations, using a Cross Sectional approach. The sample was 44 respondents who were taken with purposive sampling technique. Data was collected from respondents using the NCD questionnaire sheet. The results showed that there was a relationship between history of hypertension, age, and physical activity. However, there is no relationship between gender, indicating that gender has a risk of developing hypertension, it's just that its occurrence depends on age.
