Abstract

This research is aimed for investigate the influence of using integrated science module with Problem Based Learning (PBL) towards students’ critical thinking skill of class VIII. Experimental design used in this research was one group pretest-posttest design, which used three stages, namely: (1) giving test to measure the dependent variable before doing treatment, (2) giving experimental treatment to the subjects (variable X), and (3) giving another test to measure dependent variable after treatment. Data collection methods used in this research were test and questionnaire. Next, the data of students’ critical thinking skill was analyzed by using paired T-test and the data of students’ response was analyzed by using cut off score which was converted into quality category with scale 5 score guideline. According to the data analysis gained from the research: 1. the module gets students’ response during the process of teaching and learning which is scored from students’ response questionnaire that shows that module is good categorized, 2. There is an influence of using integrated science learning module with PBL towards students’ critical thinking skill of class VIII, and this statement is supported by the result of paired T-Test which is 0.001.

Abstract

In the whole part of the world, some people could speak more than two languages. This phenomenon is called by Multilingual Repertoire. Multilingual Repertoire in the students of PBI in IAIN Metro, Muhammadiyah University, and IAIM NU Metro greatly effects to the students’ speaking, especially in pronunciation, style, grammar, and vocabularies. Therefore, this research attempt to know the effect of students’ multilingual repertoire in speaking English. The learners’ subject in this research are 15 students in English language program from three universities in Metro. The data will be achieved through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), interview, and observation. The examination of the collected data reveals that 40% of the students are able to speak English, but they speak in Javanese dialect and style, 20% of the students speak in Sundanese style, 13% of the students speak in Lampungnese style, 13% of the students speak in Padangnese style, 7% of the students speak in Melayu style, and the rest is 7% of the students speak in Balinese style. Meanwhile, some of the students need a repetition in speaking skill to make it clear and with makes some grammatical errors. In this regard, the students should be careful in grammatical of each language when they are speaking.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of developing naturalist intelligence by utilizing the media of natural materials in children aged 5-6 years. The method used in this study uses John Elliot's action research method which has six steps: 1) identification of themes, 2) reconnaissance or review, 3) planning, 4) action, 5) observation or data collection, and 6) reflection. The data collected comes from field notes, interviews, documentation, and observation or observation. Data analysis using qualitative and quantitative descriptions. The results of this study indicate that the medium of natural materials can develop naturalist intelligence in children aged 5-6 years. Utilization of natural material media to develop naturalist intelligence includes children's knowledge of the natural environment, sensitivity to natural phenomena, environmental sustainability, caring for pets and plants. The naturalist intelligence of children aged 5-6 years develops well and increases through the medium of natural materials used.

Abstract

Group counseling services in guidance and counseling is one way to help achieve the goals of education. The purpose of this study to determine the relationship of group counseling services and the learning achievement of Islamic religious education in high school Purbolinggo East Lampung. This research is a quantitative, descriptive study of quantitative and correlative shape. The population of the author in this study were students of class XI High School in East Lampung Purbolinggo which consists of 6 classes with a total of 214 with a sample of 32 students. The method used was a questionnaire, interview, observation and documentation. Technical analysis of the data that researchers use a formula of product moment. The results showed that count is greater than table at a significance level of 5% is 0.361 and 1% significance level is 0.463. Or 0.463 <0.603> 0.361. The conclusion of this study is that the authors propose Ha accept that there is a relationship between the counseling group and the learning achievement of Islamic religious education in high school Purbolinggo East Lampung.

Abstract

Student learning activities at school is important to note. Maximum results are expected to be achieved by students during the learning process. Teachers have an important role in monitoring learning activities to the results obtained by students. Good results will be accepted if the process is also running well and smoothly. The process that students do not all directed by the teacher because it is expected students have their own skills in developing the mindset and improve creativity, so that teachers act as mediators and facilitators. The low skill of science process students of SMP / MTs Kota Metro and SMP Negeri 1 Gedung Aji needs to get the attention of the teacher especially in science biology lesson. So the steps that can be done by the teacher one of them is developing science teaching materials Biology-based skills science process.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PPM) that is carried out aims to ensure that the training participants have the knowledge, ability and courage to conduct classroom action research, starting from making research proposals, conducting research and making research reports correctly, in accordance with research rules class actions commonly used in education. The implementation of the classroom action research is expected to improve the quality of learning at SD I Plus Ma'arif Nu 1 Al Firdaus. The design of the training was arranged so that the objectives were achieved effectively including the needs analysis activities compiled from devotees and schools, beginning with the submission of PTK training material by the PPM team, which was interspersed with questions and answers, assistance in making Class Action Research proposals, and presentation of the results of Class Action Research proposals by participants the training. The training method is carried out through lecture, group work and supervision methods. The results of the implementation of community service in general have been going well. The training was actively participated by 17 teachers who were divided into 5 groups. Each group prepares a CAR proposal with an agreed theme. The proposal preparation process is carried out properly through the mentoring process. At the end of the activity, each group presented the results of the PTK proposal and provided input by the PPM team. To achieve maximum results, it is expected that teachers of the Berbah National Vocational School should continue the results of the training at the implementation stage of Classroom Action Research so that teacher professional competency is achieved and the quality of learning is better

Abstract

Feelings of fear of mathematics often come to students from elementary to tertiary level, so this problem is often considered very crucial compared to other fields of study. This is supported by the fact that shows that not a few students who consider mathematics is a subject that makes stress, makes the mind confused, time-consuming and tend to only fiddle with formulas that are not useful in life. As a result, mathematics is seen as a science that does not need to be learned and can be ignored. Supported by a learning process that is oriented to the course of practice questions. The process of learning mathematics is often not directly related to real life. In response to this, one thing that is immediately done is how to make students happy to learn mathematics. Feelings of fear of mathematics lessons experienced by students at this school in this study are called mathopobia. The research method used is quasi experiment. The population used is elementary school students in the Pasir Sakti District with samples of Islamic elementary school Al Firdaus, SDN 1 Semarang Baru, SDN2 Semarang Baru and SD Baitul Ibad Pulo Sari. Data obtained through a questionnaire and then analyzed using SPSS 20. 1. Based on the output spss shows that the value of t0 with t t (t table) obtained numbers: 2.09 for significance of 5% and 2.86 for significance of 1%. With t0 -2.708 means greater than 2.09, but smaller than -2.6. (2.09 <2.708 <2.86). So the hypothesis is rejected at the 5% level and accepted at the 1% level. In conclusion, students' mathematics learning skills only affect the significance level of 5% and not at the level of 1%. 2. Based on the output spss shows that t0 with t t (t table) with df = 19 obtained numbers: 2.09 for significance of 5% and 2.86 for significance of 1%. With t0 - 1,978 means it is smaller than 2.09 and from -2.86. (2.09> -1.978 <2.86). So the null hypothesis is accepted at the 5% level and accepted at the 1% level. In conclusion, the students' attitude to learning mathematics has no effect on the significance level of 5% or at the level of 1%. 3. Based on the output spss shows that t0 with tt (t table) with df = 19 obtained numbers: 2.09 for significance of 5% and 2.86 for significance of 1%. With t0 -2,021 means greater than 2.09, but smaller than -2.6. (2.09 <-2,021 <2.86). So the hypothesis is rejected at the 5% level and accepted at the 1% level. In conclusion the application of learning together learning models of mathematics only affects the significance level of 5% and not at the level of 1%.

Abstract

The purpose of this class action research is to describe the improvement in the ability of teachers in developing classroom action research (CAR) through the use of discussion methods in elementary schools in Purbolinggo district. This type of research is School Action Research. The model used is a spiral model with research procedures consisting of action planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The study was conducted through two cycles of action. Data collection methods used were nontest, test, observation, which was conducted by researchers with colleagues. In analyzing the research data used a qualitative descriptive method which is assisted with the calculation of percentages. Based on the results of the study can be described that in the activities of the first cycle after the discussion method used the ability of teachers in preparing the CAR is less satisfactory. Of the four teacher groups, two groups (50%) had good grades and the other two groups (50%) had poor grades. In addition, the ability of teachers to understand the preparation of PTK individually in Cycle I was also unsatisfactory. Of the 9 teachers as many as 5 people (55.6%) had the ability to understand the preparation of PTK individually was good, while 4 people (44.4% ) lack of ability. In this regard, the researchers repeated the improvement activities in the second cycle. The results of the second cycle showed that the ability of teachers experienced a satisfactory increase. Of the 4 groups of teachers who have the ability to compile a CAR with grades> 80 (good) totaling 3 groups (75%), while those with a value of 75 (enough) are 1 group (25%). Individually the ability of teachers to understand how to prepare CAR is also satisfactory. From 9 teachers as many as 7 people (77.8%) have the ability to understand the preparation of PTK individually is good, while 2 people (22.2%) ability is still lacking. From the results of the above study it can be concluded that the ability of teachers in compiling classroom action research (CAR) in elementary schools in Purbolinggo can be improved through the use of discussion methods.

Abstract

Learning media are teaching aids that are useful in creating a learning environment to support the learning process. The use of learning media must be made as attractive as possible in order to attract students' attention. With the attention of students who are focused in the learning process, students will easily accept the material and hopefully the learning objectives are achieved. Learning media and learning methods are the most influential in the learning process. So that in learning, media development is needed, one of them is with educational media which are loaded with character values. The long-term goal of environmental education is very much needed in optimizing and strengthening environmental knowledge and can foster the habit of encouraging the development and stabilization of the implementation of environmental education in schools through teacher guidance. Specific targets achieved in producing environmental education teaching materials (PLH) containing character values as local content as a supplement for teaching materials so that it is expected that elementary school students are able to develop and be able to expand knowledge about the environment. Through quantitative and descriptive methods, the data obtained that the primary school object of research requires the quality of instructional media that contains character values that are adjusted to the conditions of students in elementary schools.
