Abstract

Documentary film are a medium for conveying information all at once and media for promoting local culture. This research aims to know how the representation of local cultural meanings in documentaries: Horse Fighting, Legacy of the Age of Empires, and Muna Island Expedition. This study uses qualitative research. The focus of this research is signs of film semiotics that display a culture that is packaged well and accepted by the audience. The research results show that the documentary film: Horse Fighting, Legacy of the Age of Empires, Muna Island Expedition has a broad meaning. This film lifts one of the cultures that are characteristic of the Muna people so that the wider community will get to know Muna culture, one of which is the tradition of horse fighting. This documentary film is a medium for conveying messages and disseminating information and as a promotional medium for local culture.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the stages of the social casework method carried out by Sakti Peksos in handling victims of violence against children, the supporting and inhibiting factors for Sakti Peksos in providing assistance, and the results of the social casework method carried out by Sakti Peksos to restore the social functioning of victims of violence against children in cities. Kendari. This type of research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The determination of informants in this study used a purposive sampling method so that the informants in this study were Sakti Social Workers, Head of the Social Rehabilitation Division, two child victims of physical violence, two child victims of sexual violence and two victim families. The data sources used in this research are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview, and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that first, the stages of the social casework method were 1) the research stage which consisted of intake, context, and contracts, 2) the assessment stage which consisted of assessment and intervention plans, 3) the intervention stage which consisted of interventions and follow-up plans (RTL), 4) termination stage. Second, the supporting factors are 1) the scientific side of Sakti Peksos, 2) a large network of collaborations, 3) trust from other parties, while the inhibiting factors are 1) lack of human resources, 2) time, and 3) social services do not yet have shelters. Third, the results of the social case work assistance method carried out by Sakti Peksos can restore the social functioning of victims of violence against children in Kendari City namely, 1) children who are victims of violence are able to carry out their duties, roles and functions, 2) children who are victims of violence are effective towards themselves, other people, and their environment, 3) children who are victims of violence can pursue their hobbies, 4) children who are victims of violence fight for their goals/hope/aspirations in life.

Abstract

The teacher is someone who gives knowledge to students. Teachers in the view of society are those who carry out education in certain places, not necessarily in formal educational institutions, but also in mosques, mosques, prayer rooms, at home, and so on. The purpose of this study was to find out the obstacles faced by mentally retarded teachers in the teaching and learning process at the ABC Mandara Kendari Special School (SLB). This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Determination of informants in this study using a purposive sampling method. The data sources used in this study are primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques in this study used interview, observation and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques in this study used data collection techniques, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the obstacles faced by mentally retarded teachers in the teaching and learning process at the ABC Mandara Kendari Special School (SLB), namely students who are less focused when participating in the learning process in the classroom are the cause of their lack of focus because they only think about things about playing. as well as their intellectual delays and their moods, which vary every day. and special infrastructure for children with special needs are also obstacles for teachers in implementing the learning process in class. After discovering what obstacles the teacher faces in the learning process the teacher has a strategy for dealing with this. The teacher's strategy for dealing with students who are less focused while studying is by providing a method of playing while learning or creating a more enjoyable learning atmosphere. The teacher's strategy in dealing with students' different moods is by presenting interesting and creative material and attracting their attention and also seducing them until their mood improves and they want to re-follow the learning process in the classroom. The teacher's strategy in handling the lack of facilities when teaching is by overcoming it, namely by using cellphones and laptops internet media so that they are not left behind in learning because books are still very limited

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the teacher in helping mentally retarded children achieve their social functioning and the difficulties of children with special needs with mental retardation in achieving their social functioning. This type of research uses evaluative qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. Informant learning in this study used purposive sampling so that the research informants were the principal of SLB B-F Mandara Kendari City, 5 mentally retarded homeroom teachers, 6 mentally retarded students and 4 mentally retarded students’ parents. The types and sources of data used in this research are primary data and secondary data. The data collection technique used is the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using data reduction, data testing and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that 1) The role of thr teacher in helping mentally retarded children achieve their social functioning includes: demonstrator, communicator, mediator, motivator, evaluator, and educator. 2) Overcoming what is experienced by children with mental retardation including: inability to communicate, lack of role of mentally retarded children in doing group assignments (both for practice or in helping work on group discussion questions, easily environment, learning difficulties this is influenced by low IQ, has a less smelly attitude and tends to be quiet in class and in the surrounding environment, intellectual limitations, and difficulty controlling emotions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of orphanage caregivers in meeting the social needs of children in the Al-Ikhlas orphanage, Baruga District, Kendari City and to determine the condition of the social needs of children in the Al-Ikhlas orphanage, Baruga District, Kendari City. Kendall City. This type of research is qualitative research. Determination of informants in this study used a purposive sampling method so that the informants in this study were head of the orphanage, secretary of the orphanage, administrators of the orphanage and foster children. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, documentation. Sources of data used are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis technique uses a qualitative approach with the following steps: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that caregivers have played a role as educators, parents, mentors, givers of affection, and motivators. The social needs of children in orphanages include physiological needs, safety needs, attention and affection needs, social needs, health needs, and educational needs (formal and non-formal).

Abstract

This study aims to form students with physical and mental disorders, behavioral disorders and social disorders so that they are able to develop attitudes, knowledge and skills as individuals and members of the community in social interaction to develop their basic potentials optimally. The results showed that in achieving changes in children with autism at the Kusuma Bangsa Special School (SLB) in Kendari City, several stages were needed including conducting assessments, setting goals (goal setting), technical implementation and evaluation. In conducting an assessment of children with autism, the therapy teacher found several problems with each child, such as being difficult to manage, not wanting to be quiet, not wanting to listen, not being able to sit quietly, often hitting, etc. Then after the child's problems are known, the therapy teacher provides behavioral therapy which will then be evaluated through a special assessment. Then determine the goals of therapy that will be given to children in the form of behavior therapy that can help children with autism behave well. To achieve good behavior towards children, the type of therapy given is not only behavior therapy but other types of therapy such as play therapy, physical therapy, social therapy and developmental therapy. To achieve the desired behavior change, several behavioral therapy techniques are given to autistic children during therapy, such as characterization modeling. In this technique, children are instructed to follow things that are done by a teacher implementing therapy, such as following how to chat well. By bellowing, children can train their fine motor skills. positive reinforcement, this technique is used to encourage autistic children to be able to take part in therapy well, such as when a child succeeds in doing therapy and following the instructions properly from the teacher implementing therapy, the child will be given a reward in the form of praise in the form of gifts and deletion, deletion techniques are carried out aims to eliminate the behavior of autistic children and the teacher implementing therapy will teach good behavior according to their age which is more independent. Then evaluate, that the Kusuma Bangsa Special School (SLB) in Kendari City is very active and regular in providing therapy to children with autism. With therapy children can experience good behavior changes while at school. Some therapies are able to improve children's abilities to be even better so that children are used to the therapy they receive from the Kusuma Bangsa Special School (SLB), Kendari City.
