Abstract

The objective of this research was to optimize the sorghum noodle processing with two variables i.e. extruder temperature (80, 85, 90oC) and screw speed (10, 15, 20 Hz). The optimum process was chosen by using Response Surface Methodology (RSM), based on 2 parameters, i.e. cooking loss and elongation. The result of this research showed that the optimum processing condition with desirability of 0.736, was resulted from the combination of the extruder temperature of 85oC and screw speed of 20 Hz. The verification showed that the sorghum noodles from this optimum condition had cooking loss of 11.87 %, and elongation of 234.84.  Keywords: noodle, sorghum, optimization, twin screw extruder, RSM

Abstract

The success of Eucheuma cottonii cultivation in the Gulf Kotania, West Seram, Maluku was influenced by various factors, one of them was the existence of filament algae. This study aims to identify filament algae patching on the thalus E. cottonii, the influence of filament algae biomass on specific growth rate (SGR) of E. cottonii in trial raft and the differences of filament algae biomass patching on the thalus E. cottonii cultivated by local people in three different locations. The first study was conducted in trial raft, then the identifications and measurements of filament algae biomass patching on the thalus and the measurements of E. cottonii biomass were performed on day 34 and 50. In the second study, the identifications and measurements of filament algae biomass patching on the thalus E. cottonii has been done on the three difference locations where E. cottonii has been cultivated by local people. The results showed that Lyngbia sp. was a species of filament algae found in thalus E. cottonii in which the algae patch on. The presence of filament algae on the thalus with biomass ratio 1:81, did not affect significantly on SGR of E. cottonii in trial raft. Meanwhile, filament algae biomass obtained from three different locations showed a significant difference, where the filament algae biomass in Wael Village was the highest.Keywords: Filament Alga, Lyngbia sp., Eucheuma cottonii, Gulf Kotania

Abstract

Sweet potato contains non digestible oligosaccharides that functions as prebiotics. The processing will affect the chemical composition of sweet potato. This study aimed to find the best preparation method of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) that can produce the highest oligosaccharide extract and test the prebiotic potential of the extract to support the growth of bacteria SKT-b which has been shown to act as a probiotic for shrimp. Trial I: test the preparation method of sweet potato to obtain the best oligosaccharides extract. The treatment consisted of three different preparation methods, raw potato flour, raw potato flour steamed, and steamed potato flour. Oligosaccharides from potato flour of each preparation method was then extracted and analyzed using High Performance Liquid Chromatography. Potato oligosaccharides extract from best preparation method, was dried in freeze dryer and used for later experiments. Trial II: test the potato oligosaccharides extract as prebiotic in supporting the growth of probiotic bacteria SKT-b (in vitro). This experiment was conducted to determine the combinations of prebiotic dose with inoculants concentrations that result the best growth of bacteria SKT-b. Liquid culture bacteria SKT-b concentrations of 107, 108, 109, and 1010 cfu ml-1 were cultured in sterile sea water mixed with prebiotics concentrations of 0, 1, 2 and 3% v/v. The extract of steamed potato flour contains the highest oligosaccharides, and may act as prebiotics to support the growth of probiotic bacteria SKT-b. Prebiotics 3% and probiotics SKT-b 1010 cfu ml-1 was the best sinbiotic combination, which showed the highest growth of probiotic bacteria.Keywords: oligosaccharides, probiotics SKT-b, sinbiotic, sweet potato

Abstract

Many farmers are interested in planting chrysanthemums because of its beautiful colors. The allocation of land resources, raw materials, machinery, capital and labor which is now done by farmers, is relatively not able to meet the desired target. It demonstrates that the use of resources is not optimal and it will have an impact on the level of benefits received. The result of the data processing was: the Chrysanthemum production rate, based on the optimization results, illustrated that the recommended type of chrysanthemum to be produced was only the standard type, because it increased the revenue for companies. Company A produced 486.11 bunches of chrysanthemum for Rp 1,701,389 per growing season, company B produced 277.77 bunches for Rp 972,222 per growing season, company C produced 150 bunches for Rp 450,000 per growing season, and company D produced 250 bunches for Rp 750,000 per growing season. The resource or factor of production that was totally applied on the optimum condition was the green house land resources, which is a limiting resource; but other resources was excessive or not a limiting resource. The usage or availability of limiting resource could be improved to increase the profit of the company. The environmental changes can affect the company's revenue, to see how big the changes which didn’t change the optimal conditions were. It was generated by looking at the results of the sensitivity analysis. Sensitivity analysis of the objective coefficient value which was obtained for the standard type of chrysanthemum, the allowed increase in gross profit was infinity, while the allowed decrease in gross profit was when it approached the value of the gross profit.Keyword: chrysanthemum, primal analysis, dual analysis, sensitivity analysis

Abstract

New born babies have the ability to express their basic needs through sounds. A system to understand the meaning of crying infants of aged 0-3 months is called Dunstan Baby Language (DBL), which was introduced in 2006. This research aimed to perform the modeling of codebook method with k-means clustering technique as feature matching, and Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficients (MFCC) as feature extraction to identify the infant cries. The infant cries identification of Dunstan Baby Language version used the shortest distance of mahalanobis. The treatment in this research was the combination of frame length: 25 ms, 40 ms and 60 ms, frame overlap of 0%, 40%, and 60%, and the number of codewords (number of clusters) of 1 to 29. The best accuracy in recognizing five types of crying Infants using mahalanobis distance can be achieved up to 83% when the frame length = 275, the overlap frame = 0.25, and the k = 17. Sound ‘heh’ was the most familiar, whereas sound ‘owh’ was always missunderstood and generally  known as ‘neh’ and ‘eairh’.Keywords: Codebook, Dunstan baby language, Mahalanobis Distance, MFCC

Abstract

On this research, the protocol and simulation of e-voting system were designed for the local election. The functions on this system were tailored to the e-voting scheme which must meet several criterias: Eligibility, Unreusability, Anonymity, Accuracy, Fairness, Vote and Go, and Public Verifiability. The protocol which was made in this research was a system for voter registration, validation and activation voters, the election system, and the election calculation system. To maintain the security of data, the e-voting system used public key algorithm and symmetric key algorithm. The result of this research was a web-based e-voting system which runs on the computer network that meets the criteria of e-voting scheme. Abstract

The determination of residual pesticides beta siflutrin in potato (Solanum tuberosum L) was conducted by Gas Chromatography (GC). The separation was conducted on a DB-1 (30m×0.25mm×0.25µm) coloum, using a nitrogen gas as mobile phase at flow rate of 25 mL/min. The determination of beta siflutrin in potato with GC was based on the verification method. The detection was ECD detector. Verification parameters tested were linearity, accuracy, precision, limit of detection (LOD), and limit of quantitation (LOQ). Linearity had a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.9992. Accuracy had a recovery value of 99.49%. Precision had a value of relative standard deviation (% RSD) of 2.48%. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantitation (LOQ) obtained was 0.001305 and 0.00435 mg/kg. The result of this research showed that the method of determination of residual pesticides beta siflutrin in potato with GC can be used as a routine analysis.Key words: verification, beta siflutrin, GC, potato

Abstract

Tual cityhasthe abundantmarine and fishery potencies because most ofthe region is the ocean.This study aimed to determine the contribution value of marine and fisheries sector to PDRB (GDP), to know the status or the level of the economic base of marine and fisheries sector in the city of Tual, and to formulate alternative development strategies of marine and fisheries sector in order to play a bigger role in the development of the Tualcity.  The result of this research indicated that the contribution value of marine and fisheries sector to PDRB (GDP) in Tual city gave a very big contribution in agricultural sector. The analysis of LQ indicated that the marine and fishery sector is said to bethe economic base sector  .Aglomeration analysis indicated that the sector activity of marine and fishery in Tual was not centralizedinvariousplacesaround Tual.  The calculation results of the specialization analysis on marine and fisheries sector inTual showed the unspecialized state.  It means that the marine and fisheries sector as not be enable to produce a particular fishery commodities. Therefore, the role from all elements is needed.  The effect of marine and fishery sector tend to fluctuate.  It was influenced by the economic condition after the region was divided. Based on the result of SWOT analysis. The three top priorities in choosing an alternative strategy of the development of marine and fisheries sector in Tual city are: 1) Promote cooperation between the government, employers and the public to utilize fishery and marine resources in a sustainable manner, 2) development of professional management in marine and fisheries resource; 3) Development of MCS system (Monitoring, Controlling and Surveillance) by related agencies.Keywords : Sector Marine and Fishery, PDRB, Economic Bases, Strategy Development.

Abstract

This research presents Islamic banking which continuously experience growth in the banking system in Indonesia, especially after Bank Indonesia regulation (office channeling) is applied. The presence of Islamic banking is expected to strengthen the SMEs in accessing the business financing with the concept of profit and loss sharing.  This research was done to find out whether the increasing development of Islamic banking give a positive response in the SMEs sector financing and other variables in line with the rising of Islamic banking portfolio. The study was based on secondary data and mostly collected from the Annual reports published by Bank Indonesia.  Method of Vector Autoregression (VAR) and inferential statistics were used for data analysis. The result suggested that the development of Islamic banking was influenced by the variable of operational expenses ratio to operational revenue (BOPO), financing in SMEs sector (PYD), depositor funds (DPK), non performing financing (NPF), number of worker (PKJ), unless asset growth (GAST).Key words: Islamic banking, Small and medium enterprises (SMEs), Vector autoregression (VAR)
