TRANSFORMATIONAL LANGUAGE, LITERATURE, AND TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW IN LEARNING (TRANSTOOL) is an international peer reviewed and open access journal in literature and language education. The aim is to publish conceptual and research articles that explore the application of any language in teaching and the everyday experience of language in education. Its scope is international in that it welcomes articles from academics, language teachers, researchers, practitioners, graduate students and policy makers. Manuscripts must be original and educationally interesting to the audience in the field. The goal is to promote concepts and ideas developed in this area of study by publishing relevant peer-reviewed scientific information and discussion. This will help language practitioners to advance their knowledge for greater benefit and output in their professional contexts. All articles published in this journal should be in English. The scope of journal covers assessment and testing in language learning and education; applied linguistics methodologies and issues; classroom language teaching issues; culture and power in language education; language curriculum development and implementation; effective methods for language teaching; diversity, multiculturalism and language education; gender, language and higher education; language skills, development, and issues; language learning and identity; literacy, bilingualism and bilingual education; and teacher training, gender and equality in language education, also discussing topics on the area of language for specific purposes.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze group guidance model to enhance student resilience in the covid-19 era. This study employs a literature review is the method, by sifting through research publications published between 2015-2021. The majority of the publications were from national and international journals of guidance and counseling, psychology, and education. Using the keywords "Group Guidance," "Student resilience," and "Covid-19," which explored through journal article databases such ScienceDirect and Google Schoolar to compile the data. The findings demonstrates that teachers of guidance and counseling should assess their students' current degree of school involvement. Providing students with group counseling services is one way to get them more engaged in their education. As a result, teachers of Guidance and Counseling may consider offering group counseling sessions as a means of increasing student interest in school.

Abstract

The study aims to change students' negative perceptions of teacher guidance and counseling. This research method uses this literature review by looking for relevant literature that is done using databases such as Google Scholar. The findings of the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) study are that there are various strategies on the implementation of guidance and counseling programs in schools, the role of guidance and counseling teachers and collaboration between other parties related to the implementation of guidance and counseling programs in an effort to achieve the goals of comprehensive guidance and counseling itself. In the implementation of guidance and counseling programs there is optimal system support in the implementation of guidance and counseling programs because as an optimization on guidance and counseling program services provided to students. Abstract

This research aims to analyze and obtain a description of the improvement of HR competencies with the Academic Quality Policy in the Economic Sector of Higher Education Providers in East Java. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The results showed that the implementation of academic services carried out by all components of higher education including lecturers, staff and academic staff showed a change towards better improvement, in terms of human resource management, as well as supporting facilities that support the implementation of improving the quality of academy services. Higher education institutions need to control the quality of activities carried out at stages in the management process which include input, process, output and stakeholder satisfaction. Improving the quality of service can be carried out by applying in the service quality management process, perfecting and strengthening the curriculum, updating and perfecting learning facilities, increasing the quality qualifications and the number of human resources that are adjusted to the needs in higher education.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to examine how the Vocational High School of Machine Engineering Department teaches and learns about industry-based work character. An explanatory sequential mixed approach and the Countenance Stake assessment method are used in this case study. Input, process, and outcome make up the three parts of the Countenance Stake assessment method. According to result of average antecedent, transaction data, as well as response of students, the teaching and learning process in vocational schools was excellent at developing work character. Meanwhile, student professional character can also be shaped by external as well as internal factors such as their religious convictions, their commitment to truthfulness, their sense of responsibility, their ability to think creatively and innovatively, as well as their work ethic, passion, and respect for their coworkers.

Abstract

Myopia is a condition in which distant objects cannot be clearly displayed on the retina by the optical system of the eye, because the incoming light is refracted in front of the retina or yellow spot. Along with genetic factors, another important aspect that affect myopia is lifestyle. When a pandemic strikes, it alters people's behavior. Outdoor activities have decreased significantly, while the use of gadgets has increased as a result of youngsters learning online, which needs the use of gadgets. This study aims to determine the increase in the incidence of myopia in children due the online learning process. The type of research conducted is in the form of literature review. Searches for data that meets literature reviews that match the topic are conducted online. Online searches conducted through scientific journal sites have a diverse and quality database, namely PubMed, Schocar, and Libgen published in the last 6 years (2015-2021). Researchers found 8 journals using keywords relevant to the study. The findings highlight that the use of smartphones can cause DED, myopia and blurred vision. Due the pandemic Covid-19 situation that occur today requires children to take part in online learning programs from home via smartphone screens. Indirectly, short distance activities and lack of exposure to natural sunlight increase asthenopia conditions and increase myopia cases for children. If not addressed early on, these risks becoming an explosion of myopia cases, while the end of the COVID-19 pandemic is still unknown. Therefore, myopia preventive measures are required during pandemic outbreaks that are relevant and effective.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the use of dictation strategy in teaching listening for students. The researcher used library research to collect the data for this research. Library research is an activity of collecting materials related to a research originating from books, scientific journals, literatures and other publications, which are worthy as the sources that the researcher examined, by describing the data through opinions of experts. The researcher used qualitative approach for this research in order to provide comprehensive facts about dictation strategy in teaching listening. The findings reveal that dictation is very useful for teaching listening to students. Dictation can improve students’ listening skills, enhance students confidence and motivation, and enable students to understand English pronunciation in detail. With the existence of dictation, students can improve their abilities, especially their listening skills. By using dictation, the teacher can teach listening to the students efficiently, so that the learning objectives can be achieved. The benefit of this research is to add insight for the readers regarding the use of dictation strategy to teach listening for the students.

Abstract

This study compares and contrasts the phonetic systems of English and Indonesian in the lyrics to the song "Heaven." In order to teach students how to pronounce English with Indonesian phonemes, the research aims to compare and contrast the phonemes in song lyrics. Ten English consonant phonemes and ten Indonesian consonant phonemes are the focus of this study. A qualitative technique is used in the descriptive-contextual research methodology. Based on the types of phonemes, the technique design compares the phonemes in song lyrics written in English and Indonesian. The "Heaven" song lyrics, which are made up of 10 consonant phonemes, were discovered to share commonalities between the English and Indonesian phonemic systems. Ten consonants in the lyrics to the song "Heaven" represent the distinctions between the English and Indonesian phonetic systems.

Abstract

Language is an indispensable communication tool. Language also a means of self-expression, a means of social adaptation in certain environments and situations. Even so, the language is very indistinct, unclear and confusing. This study will compare the consonant between English and Batak Toba language in the conversation about “Education”. This research focused to compare ten consonant in English and Batak Toba Language in conversation. A descrptive qualitative research is used in this research. The technique of analyzing data is by compare ten consonants between English and Batak Toba language in conversation “Education”. The conversation consisting of ten consonants shows the differences between English and Batak Toba Language.

Abstract

The intrinsic element is the most important element in building a literary work, especially a novel. The objective of this research is to provide a classification of the emotional dynamics expressed by the main character in the fiction novel that is being analyzed. The data source is written data source in the form of London love story novel. This research uses a qualitative approach and belongs to the type of descriptive research. The problem that the author investigates in this study is how to classify the emotional dynamics of the main character in the novel London love story, as well as what causes those emotional dynamics of the main character in the novel London love story. The results revealed that there are 4 dynamics contained in the novel London Love Story by Tisa Ts. The 4 dynamics include: Basic emotions (pleasure, anger, fear, and sadness); Emotions associated with sensor stimulation; Emotions related to self-assessment; and Emotions related to other people. Further, we found 2 emotional dynamics in the novel London Love Story by Tisa TS included the dynamics of knowledge and the dynamics of feelings.
