Abstract

There is a decrease in mathematics learning achievement and teachers have difficulty in determining appropriate learning models and strategies in the online learning process. Therefore, this study aims to identify the comparison of mathematical abilities based on an interactive learning model setting cooperative, expository, and problem-based learning. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental type conducted in one of the high schools in Jakarta. The inferential analysis technique is divided into two, namely the normality test using the Chi-Square test and the homogeneity test using the Levene test in the SPSS calculation program. The hypothesis test used by the researcher used the one-way ANOVA test because it used 3 variables and the data used were normally distributed and homogeneous. Furthermore, the researchers continued the paired hypothesis test t test. The results of the t-test resulted in a cooperative setting interactive learning model with expository learning and problem-based learning models having a significant difference in average mathematical ability. Cooperative setting interactive learning with problem-based learning model has a significant difference in average mathematical ability. Meanwhile, expository and problem-based learning model does not have a significant difference in average mathematical ability.

Abstract

Learning mathematics in depth has implications for the quality of achievement. However, students do not apply their best, or even the habit has not formed a consistent. This study aims to interpret how the correspondence between students' learning habits and their mathematics achievement. This observational research was conducted using the correlation technique. Data were obtained through questionnaires and tests from 30 students in one school in Karawang district. One subgroup is selected from a specified vocational school. The data distribution was analyzed, followed by analyzing the regression equation, and correlation analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, stated that the data is normally distributed, the regression is linear with a positive coefficient, and the correlation is significant. The results concluded that there was a relationship between learning habits and students' achievement. Research findings are also discussed. Changes in learning habits on mathematics achievement are estimated at 10%. This number can be said to be an indication of a relatively slow change. Therefore, if new pattern learning habits are implemented to students, for example through changes to the education curriculum, and with relatively slow approximated, then it is ideal when the impact on students' achievement is not yet very significant.

Abstract

Lesson plans are more focused on how to achieve goals and indicators. However, student ability profile has not become the main basic standard. Therefore, this research aims to describe the profile of students' mathematical understanding abilities. This research is a quantitative descriptive conducted on XI grade Otomindo’s vocational students in Jakarta. Data obtained from student achievement on the understanding ability test. Students' understanding is profiled according to the results of data analysis on their level and abilities based on achievement in mechanical, inductive, rational and intuitive indicators. The results of the study concluded that the profile of students' mathematical understanding abilities was dominated by inductive understanding abilities. It is because students are better able to apply formulas or concepts to simple or similar problems, but it is difficult to the rational and intuitive indicators. Students' mathematical understanding ability is included in the low category on two indicators, that is rational in terms of describing the truth of formulas and theorems, and intuitive in term of estimating the truth before analyzing further. While in the medium category, it is on mechanical indicators in terms of remembering and applying formulas routinely and calculating simply.
