Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of listen-and-answer technique in teaching listening on news items. This study uses a classroom action research design consisting of two cycles. The subject of this study was junior high school students of MTs Al-Ihsan Tenggulun Solokuro Lamongan. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection techniques used are tests, observations, journals, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively and qualitatively. Based on research data analysis, the average score of students' listening skills on news items in pre-liminary, cycle 1, and cycle 2 increased 62.9. In the first cycle the average score of preliminary study was increased 13.3 points or 24.7% with a class average value of 67.2. In the second cycle, the improvement of the average score of the first cycle was 10.6 points or 15.8% with an average value of 77.8. The improvement between preliminary and cycle 2 was 23.9 points or 62.9%. Additionally, the improvement of students listening skills in news items for each cycle was observed to be followed by changes in students positive behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the reality of live in the Kosdu, Anak Kalap includes the first reality of social, religius, and cultural life. Data collection teachniques used are reading and note-taking. Reading and note-tasking techniques are used to find out the reality of life contained in the kosdu novel. Based on the result of this study, it is konwn that there are several froms of life reality including the reality social, religius, and cultural life. The conclusions of some of these problem include the reality of social life reflected through social interactions carried out by the characters, the reality of religious life is reflected in the behavior and actions of the figures who are always submissive and obedient to the Islamic religion, the reality of cultural life is reflected through the beliefs of the characters in myths and kejawen value.

Abstract

The scientific writing skills of students in ninth class of MTs Muhammadiyah 31 Cumpleng Brondong Lamongan are still low and need to be improved. This study aims to describe the application of contextual teaching and learning to Junior high school students in scientific writing. This research is a classroom action research that consists of 2 cycles. The subject of this research is students students in ninth class of MTs Muhammadiyah 31 Cumpleng. Data was collected using test, observation and interview. The data from the test results were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while data obtained by from observations, and interviews were described narratively. The results showed that the contextual teaching and learning approach was very effective in improving the scientific writing skills of ninth class students of MTs Muhammadiyah 31 Cumpleng and the average score was 62.13, in the first cycle and the results increased again in the second cycle, 77.15.

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) the form of anger of the main character in the novel "Perempuan Bersampur Merah" by Intan Andaru and (2) the factors of anger of the main character in the novel "Perempuan Bersampur Merah" by Intan Andaru, also describe (3) the psychological impact of the main character in the novel “Perempuan Bersampur Merah” by Intan Andaru. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subject of this research is the novel "Perempuan Bersampur Merah" by Intan Andaru. The method of data collection is done by reading and note-taking techniques. The data were analyzed by qualitative descriptive technique, which is a research procedure with descriptive data presented in the form of the author's speech in the novel "Perempuan Bersampur Merah" by Intan Andaru.. The results showed that (1) the form of anger of the main character in the novel "Perempuan Bersampur Merah" by Intan Andaru, namely the anger described by the author in the main character, anger is an expression of human emotions in venting dissatisfaction, disappointment or mistakes when there is an emotional turmoil that does not occur. controlled include revenge, curiosity, irritation, hurt and overflowing emotions (2) the factors of anger between characters in the novel "Perempuan Bersampur Merah" by Intan Andaru there are several factors, namely environmental factors, family factors, social factors. Not only that, anger also arises on the basis of feeling disappointed, irritated, disgusted and annoyed. (3) the psychological impact of the main character in the novel "Perempuan Bersampur Merah" by Intan Andaru caused several problems for the main character, namely being depressed, uncomfortable with their environment, potentially hurting themselves, interfering with children's relationships with parents, even with family, problems with friends peers, school environment, even the environment where the child lives.

Abstract

The research was conducted to find out the implementation of blended learning in writing recount text, the result of students’ work and the students’ response toward blended learning model. This research used descriptive qualitative as the research design. The subjects are 37 students of X-Bahasa class and an English teacher. The researcher was observed the teaching and learning process using blended learning. Then, the researcher analyzed the result of students work in recount text using rubric and conducted interview with six students. The result showed that the implementation of blended was in accordance with blended learning process, namely learning design, content production and content delivery. The analysis of students’ work showed that students had developed in writing recount text. Students wrote a recount text that related with the content and structure of recount text but students still made mistakes on grammar aspects. Students’ response showed that the easy access of information and implementation of blended learning had helped them comprehend the lesson. However, the problems of using blended learning were internet network and the amount of information available on the internet.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the vocabulary, sound changes and factors influence the use of the Alay language by shemale in Pucuk. This research was conducted in Pucuk with the subjects were shemale in Pucuk. Data showed 67 obtained Alay language vocabularies used by shemale in Pucuk. Vocabulary structure and sound changes in Alay language among shemale in Pucuk are addition of phonemes, omission of phonemes, shortening, use of other terms, replacement of letters, combinations of capital and lowercase letters, combinations of letters and numbers, combinations of letters, numbers, symbols, and abbreviations. The factors that influence the use of Alay language vocabulary by shemale in Pucuk are Alay language is considered a medium of expression, a factor that arises from within a shemale aims to be pampered was that a sense of eager to be noticed, the language used seems more slang and modern, For shemale, Alay language can understand their condition, they are more comfortable using the Alay language. It is modern and fun language to use as a trick and attraction for their own, and surroundings, such as friends, television.
