Abstract

The purpose of this study is to implement a culture of energy-saving behavior. It is based on the implementation of basic energy-saving values, including (1) the development of a green education curriculum through energy conservation teaching materials of Economical, Wise and Smart to Use Energy. Also, (2) it encourages energy-saving behaviours, such as turning off devices that use energy while not in use, including lamp and AC. This strategy needs to be practiced continuously with teachers’ help to inculcate positive habits in children. The study uses a comparative approach which is often meant to describe the profound relationship and the influence between two or more facts and the object properties examined. A comparative study is used to determine the cause of behavioral differences or individual status. This study involves a follow-up to the correlation research.

Abstract

This research aimed to: (1) develop a multirepresentation learning model, (2) reveal the effectiveness of the developed multirepresentation learning model, and (3) transform character for students of 5-6 years old. The data were collected using a validation sheet, questionnaire of teacher’s responses, and observation. The data were analyzed using the independent sample t test with a significance level of 0,05. The result of the assessment by the material expert validator was “Good”. The research finding revealed that the multirepresentation learning model in terms of the content expediency, the language, the presentation, and the graphic component were categorized “Very Good”. There was a difference in the nation spirit character between the experimental class and the control class after the teacher used the multirepresentation learning model with p < 0.05, and there was also a significant increase, with p = 0.000.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of spatial analogies on understanding of numbers in early childhood in TK Islam Salamah and TK Sri Juwita Hanum Surakarta. This study was a quasi-experimental. The design of the study used a non-equivalent design with a sample of 34 children in the experimental group and 35 children in the control group. The technique of collecting data was through performance tests to measure children’s understanding of numbers. The normality test and homogeneity test used kolmogrov smirnov and lavene test of equality of variance. The data analysis used parametric statistics with a significance level p>0.05. The results showed that there was an increase in the mean value in the experimental group and there were significant differences from the control group and the experimental group with a significance value of 0,000. Children can to use the number symbol to count, mention the number symbol from 1 to 10, match numbers with the number symbols, know the concept of less and more numbers also there was an increase in another indicator. It can be concluded that spatial analogies had an effectiveness on the understanding of numbers of children in group B, TK Islam Salamah Surakarta.

Abstract

This research is a Class Action Research which aims to improve English ability of group B consist of 7 children. This research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consist of five stages that are planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. Data collection method used observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis technique used qualitative descriptive technique. The results showed the achievement of indicators and an increase in English ability. It can be seen from the pre-cycle English ability in the good category of 14.28%, then in the first cycle increased to 21.43% and in the second cycle the English ability of children increased by 75%. The conclusion of this research is that through the reading word media android-based can improve English ability of children in Oasis Kids National Plus School in Group B academic year 2018/2019. There is a suggestion for educators to try improving children’s English ability by using a variety of learning media, one of which is to use reading word media android-based. In addition, a suggestion for schools is to be a place for early childhood education to be able to provide learning activities in accordance with the characteristics of children’s learning abilities.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the ability to recognize letters in children aged 4-5 years through motion video and song. The type of this study was a classroom action research were conducted in two cycles. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, test, and documentation. Quantitative data analysis techniques used comparative data analysis, and qualitative data analysis used interactive model analysis. The validity of quantitative data used construct validity, while the validity test of qualitative data using triangulation and triangulation techniques. The results showed there is an increased ability to recognize letters that can be viewed through an increase in the percentage of completeness that in the first cycle of 65% and the second cycle by 82%.The increase was evidenced by the child's success in imitating / create form letters b,d,p,q,l,i, pronounce letter sounds b,d,p,q,l,i and distinguish the shape of the letter b and d, p and q, l and i. The conclusion of this study is the impression of motion video and song can improve the ability to recognize letters in children aged 4-5 years.
