Abstract

Currently patient safety continues to be a major concern for nurses. One of the activities that can have an impact on patient safety is handovers carried out by nurses. Data shows that medical and treatment errors can threaten patient safety, 70% of them because of non-optimal handover activities by nurses. However, there are several organizational factors that influence the success of handover activities by nurses. This research is a quantitative study with a correlational design. The population was all nurses in the inpatient room of the Hospital in Banda Aceh, with a total of 175 nurses. The instrument for measuring organizational factors was adopted from the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety from the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Department of Health and Human Services. Then, the instrument developed by Arianti  was used for measuring nurse handover. Data were analyzed by using Chi-Square test and binary logistic regression with stepwise method. The results showed that of the 3 organizational factor variables in patient safety, 2 variables namely enabling factor (P-value: 0.000) and enacting factor (P-value: 0.002) were significant predictors of nurse handover in the inpatient ward. Furthermore, the data analysis indicated enabling factor is the most dominant predictor of nurse handover, with an odds ratio (OR) of 116.999. Meanwhile, the elaborating factor did not significantly affect the handover of nurses in the inpatient ward. Organizational factors that influence the success of the handover of the nurse in the inpatient unit are enabling and enacting factors.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic syndrome diseases with hyperglycemia characteristics that occur due to abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin resistance, or both. About 50% of Type-2 DM patients experiencing undiagnosed depression is quite concerning because it will hinder DM management and allow negative thoughts to arise so it is important to activate gratitude through five-finger hypnotherapy.   The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of five-finger hypnotherapy through gratitude in controlling blood sugar levels of Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus patients.   This type of research uses quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design model. The sample was divided into two, namely the intervention group of 23 people was given five-finger hypnotherapy therapy treatment with gratitude and the control group of 22 people was only given five-finger hypnotherapy therapy treatment taken with purposive sampling techniques.  Bivariate analysis using Wilconxon test and Mann-Whitney test.   As a result, there was a difference in pre-test and post-test blood sugar levels where the p-value of the Wilcoxon test in the intervention group was 0.022 and the control group was 0.008.   In conclusion, the effectiveness of five-finger hypnotherapy through gratitude in controlling blood sugar levels was a decrease in KGD 27.31 mg / dl in the intervention group and an addition of KGD 19.14 mg / dl in the control group.

Abstract

Surgery can cause very severe pain in patients due to surgical incisions. To treat pain in fracture patients, effective pain management is needed. The pain management provided must be able to meet the patient's needs, one of which is the need for comfort. namely pharmacology and non-pharmacology. This study aims to identify the relationship between pain intensity and pain management strategies in post lower extremity fracture patients. This research is quantitative analytic in nature with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 43 postoperative lower extremity fracture respondents. The instrument in this study used a pain scale for pain intensity, while the pain management strategy used the American pain society patient outcome questionnaire revised, with interview collection techniques. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between pain intensity and pain management strategies in postoperative lower extremity fracture patients. 15 people (60.0%) experienced severe pain with good pain management strategies, 10 people (40.0%) had severe pain with sufficient pain management strategies, while 17 people had moderate pain with good pain management strategies (94.4%), and moderate pain with sufficient pain management strategies in 1 person (5.6%). This is based on the results of the calculation of the chi-square statistical test obtained Pvalue = 0.014 <α = 0.05. There is a relationship between pain intensity felt by patients with pain management strategies in postoperative lower extremity fracture patients at Meuraxa Hospital Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Full day school system in Indonesia had actually been running before the existence of a policy from the Ministry of Education and Culture, namely in private schools, international schools and religious-based schools such as Islamic boarding schools. The full day system allows children to lose some of their playing time due to the long study time at school. Children with a full day school system have a higher stress level than children with a half day school system. This is because children study at school until 15.30. Long study time results in reduced playing time for children so that children get bored easily. Adequate play time for children will have a good impact on children, they will tend not to feel a burden on themselves .Objective to determine the description of the level of stress on students in attending full day school SMA Batik 2 Surakarta. Abstract

Hypertension is one of the leading causes of death and one of the diseases with the highest incidence in the world. Hypertension can be caused by several factors such as age, gender, personality type, genetic factors, obesity, exercise, diet, lifestyle, stress, and sleep patterns. Poor sleep quality is a factor in the occurrence of physical, psychological, environmental and lifestyle problems. The physical problems caused include a decrease in daily activities, weakness, fatigue, decreased endurance, and instability of vital signs, while psychological factors impact depression, anxiety, and difficulty concentrating. Study was to determine the experience of sleep quality in hypertensive patients at the Karanganyar 1 Health Center. The design of this study was qualitative using a phenomenological approach by involving 3 hypertension participants who had poor sleep quality. Three themes that emerged were then used to reflect the objectives of the study, including: 1) perceptions of hypertensive patients about sleep quality 2) problems perceived by hypertensive patients with sleep quality 3) how hypertensive patients deal with sleep quality. All participants experienced poor sleep quality, such as difficulty sleeping, short sleep hours, frequent daytime sleepiness, waking up in the middle of the night, difficulty sleeping again. Participants felt complaints such as dizziness, neck pain, and participants experienced drug dependence.
