Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to analyze the government's role in the SARA conflict in Indonesia. This research method used historical concept studies. Primary historical data sources and secondary data sourced from books and articles. The results of this study reveal a comparison of the government's role since the transition period, namely the period after changing the leadership of the new era to the democratic era. The dark transition period have shifted to become dynamic, due to the increasing level of democratic awareness. The conclusion of this study is the potential for horizontal conflict in Indonesia as a plural country as high risk, and become a powerful time bomb. The sentiment of identities are getting sharper because there are political elites interests that encourage the patronage of civil society and the media.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study to explore social studies learning outcomes with the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model. The method used a classroom action research approach. The subject of research was 8th grades, 34 students and consist of two classes, namely A and B classes. The results of study were student learning activities increased, in the 1st cycle 56,25%, in the 2nd cycle reaching 86,75%; Teacher activity has increased, in 1st cycle 72%, 2nd cycle reached 87,89%; While student learning outcomes 1st cycle 59,06% has increased in 2nd 83,18%. The conclusion is the facilitator and explaining models has increased both student activities and teachers, also learning outcomes sighnificanly.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze life skill education at course institution in Tegal and how life skill could defend existence of more complex life in 21st century. This research finding showed that education at course institution in Tegal had spirits to improve competences if they did want to be left by the civilization. As the competence owned by course institution in Tegal, life skill does not only cover hard and specific skills, but also spiritual skill. Those three skill principle is if human wants to success, human cannot only rely on material and non-material contents. Human needs spiritual content to be considered. It could be concluded that life skill should meet three skill contents: generic, specific, and spiritual skill (SS). Those skills are united into a bound to avoid any failures and to remain still from difficult and complex global challenges.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to develop the skill opinion of Economic Education students using the debate learning model. Pre-cycle observation results in students' opinion skills that are still at a low level of interpretation so that efforts are needed to improve it. The research subjects were 25 students of Economics Education who took Social Studies courses. Collecting research data using the observation method with a checklist sheet on each indicator. The research was carried out in two main cycles with 2 meetings in each cycle. The results showed that the debate model was able to improve opinion skills, both specifically and in general. Specifically, an increase in each indicator is known from the comparison of the average results of the pre-cycle, cycle 1, and cycle 2 stages on each indicator. Indicators of tolerance, courage, and substantive have a very significant increase from the low category to very high. The indicators of confidence and sentence structure increased from low to high level in cycle 2. The increase in opinion skills in general also experienced a very significant increase from the pre-cycle stage with a low level of interpretation to very high in cycle 2. In general, opinion skills of pre-cycle students included the level of interpretation. low with a success rate of 40%, increased to high in cycle 1 with a success rate of 60%, and again increased in a very high level of interpretation in cycle 2 with a success rate of 92%.

Abstract

Abstract. This paper explored the problems of street children in Surabaya, especially the exploitation of street children. This paper has a subject to find out the causes of the emergence of street children and also the forms and causes of exploitation of street children in Surabaya. This paper was an exploratory paper with data collected through literature study. The problem in this research is examined using the household survival strategy theory by Harbirson. The results of this study indicate that there were several factors that can cause the emergence of street children, namely in the form of economic factors or poverty, family factors, and also community factors. Street children are children who are prone to exploitation. The form of exploitation of street children can be in the form of being forced to work for more than 8 hours and consuming a lot of time for street children so that they cannot do what children their age should do. The other forms of exploitation of street children are taking wages and acts of intimidation and violence carried out by parents or thugs who have power in the area where street children are doing their activites.
