Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of code-mixing and code-switching as one of English learning methods in Politeknik eLBajo Commodus, particularly in Basic English Class. The method of this research is field observation during the time of Basic English. Several example speeches which contain code-mixing and code-switching during the class are used as the data. The data is then analyzed by the theory to find out the contexts and types of code-mixing and code-switching that happened in the Basic English Class. The result shows that code-mixing is used in some contexts, such as in welcome greeting, small talk before the class starts, to open the lecture, while giving the lecture, and interact with each other in the class. All those are outer code-mixing. As for code-switching, there are situational and metaphoris code-switching, and both in insertion and alternation. The code-switching is used when the students still use bahasa Indonesia more often. When there are students that do not understand the questions, and as a translation from bahasa Indonesia, if needed, code-switching is applied. This research shows that the code-mixing and code-switching can be used as English teaching method and the lecturer must control the use itself so that English is still being the main language in the English class.

Abstract

Language development in Early Childhood includes expressive language and receptive language. The ability to read in children is included in receptive language. Based on the results of observations at Budi Mulia Dua Sedayu Kindergarten that the use of playing techniques using letter cards is a separate motivation for children to learn to recognize words and learn to read while playing. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that is used to describe reading techniques using word cards which are carried out using the playing method. The subjects in this study were group B children at Budi Mulia Dua Sedayu Kindergarten. The data obtained from this study were obtained from teacher interviews, observations, and documentation. The techniques used in conducting data analysis are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study obtained the final data that the ability of children who were originally included in the Undeveloped (BB) criteria in reading ability was progressing about 59%. The conclusion from the results of this study is that word cards given using playing methods are effective for improving children's reading skills if teachers and parents work together to motivate children to learn to read and there is a child's willingness to learn.

Abstract

Components that influence student learning success are those that originate within students (interest and motivation) and from outside students such as the environment, social, teacher learning methods, and so on. Interest in learning Indonesian at MAN 1 Pulang Pisau is categorized as low due to a lack of student learning motivation, so there are still many low grades. Even though this school is one of the favorite schools with a large enough number of students because it is the only Islamic-based school and has been accredited A. The purpose of this study is to describe how motivation influences learning on student learning outcomes of MAN 1 Pulang Pisau, by applying differentiated learning designed by the teacher Indonesian. This research method is descriptive qualitative method. The population in this study were all students of class X and the sample in the study was class X IPS II MAN I Pulang Pisau. Data collection techniques were carried out by observing learning in class and distributing questionnaires. The data taken is the result of student learning in the form of written tests and questionnaire results which are distributed in the form of a questionnaire. Then the data is described descriptively and a final conclusion is drawn. Based on the results of the study, students' learning motivation in differentiated learning can improve student learning outcomes. Students are more active and enthusiastic in participating in learning, more confident, and able to respect others.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of report card processing applications in improving the technological abilities of teachers at PKPPS Al Hidayah Karangsuci. The research method used is a case study approach using a qualitative approach. The time for the research was carried out for one month, from February 1 to March 1 2023. The research subjects consisted of school principals, curriculum representatives, and homeroom teachers. Data collection techniques namely interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the use of a report card processing application has the potential to provide convenience and efficiency in managing report card grades. Teachers can reduce the time needed to calculate and process data manually by using this application. However, weaknesses were also found in terms of lack of facilities and infrastructure which could affect the teacher's enthusiasm in learning and understanding grade processing applications.

Abstract

This study discusses the Independent Learning Policy of the Independent Campus at the Indonesian Language and Literature Education study program at the University of Flores. Respondent data was obtained as a whole (Sample Saturated) from the number of students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education study program at the University of Flores as many as 117 people, using qualitative descriptive research methods. The results showed that the understanding of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program students only knew a little about the Independent Campus Independent Learning Policy (MBKM) of 66.96 percent with 59.05 percent of information sources obtained from online/offline socialization activities organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Learning activities outside of the study program that are most dominantly chosen by Indonesian Language and Literature Education students are Village Building or Thematic Real Work Lectures (KKNT) and Student Exchanges of 38.10 percent, and students who declare readiness to participate in the Independent Learning Campus Policy (MBKM) by 90.48 percent. The survey results also show that students feel that MBKM activities in developing competence/skills as a provision for work after graduation are 88.57 percent. Students also feel interested in the MBKM program held by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology 94.29 percent and recommend programs at 94.24 percent. The impact of this research shows that students become more flexible towards the lecture process, experience with the community and provision for work after graduating from college.

Abstract

The Independent Learning of the Independent Campus (MBKM)  which was launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology was the answer to the demands of the world of work today and in the future. This study aims to determine the students' understanding of the architectural study program at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Flores regarding the implementation of the independent learning policy on an independent campus (MBKM). This study uses a survey method conducted on all students of the architectural study program, totaling 238 people by filling out the link on SPADA DIKTI. Data analysis was carried out using a qualitative descriptive method. The results showed that 14% of students in the Architecture study program did not know anything about the content of the MBKM policy, 42% knew a little, 31% knew most of the content of the policy and 13% knew the policy as a whole. However, 77% of students stated that they were very interested in the MBKM program and 74% were very interested in recommending the program to their relatives or colleagues.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the intensity of social media use on academic procrastination of Muhammadiyah University students of Palangkaraya. The research method used is quantitative. The population of this study was 2714, while the sample was 349 students. Data collection techniques were carried out by distributing questionnaires to students. Statistical testing using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicated that the significance value is 0.013 <0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the intensity of social media use on academic procrastination of Muhammadiyah University students of Palangkaraya.

Abstract

Salt hydrolysis material is one of the chemical materials that is abstract and difficult for students to understand. Therefore, learning media are needed that are able to increase understanding by using interactive power-point. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of the use of guided inquiry-based interactive power-point learning media on salt hydrolysis material on the learning outcomes of class XI students at MAN 2 Padang City. This experimental research uses the Nonequivalent Control-Group Design. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPA at MAN 2 Padang City consisting of 9 classes in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling method. The research instrument was in the form of a multiple choice test that has been tested for validity, reliability, item discriminating power, and a good index of difficulty. Data were analyzed using the n-gain test and hypothesis testing with independent sample t-test. The results of the data analysis show that the experimental class has a higher n-gain compared to the control class in the medium category. In addition, the results of the hypothesis test show a significance value (sig) of less than 0.05, so that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. From the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of guided inquiry-based interactive Power-Point learning media on salt hydrolysis material is effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Faith and piety education at SD Negeri Kragilan 01 is not supported by extracurricular activities or additional hours at school. The independent curriculum in improving the religious character of students then holds a JUMAJI program in strengthening the profile of Pancasila students in the dimensions of faith and piety. The purpose of this study is to describe the application and constraints of the Jumaji program in strengthening the profile of Pancasila students in the dimensions of faith and piety at Kragilan 01 State Elementary School. This type of research is qualitative research. This research method uses descriptive qualitative methods. The results of the study can be concluded that, 1) Jumaji activities include reading the Qur'an, memorizing short letters, listening to lectures/motivational teachers and giving alms. The program has fulfilled the aspects of the Pancasila student profile of the dimensions of faith and piety, namely religious morals, personal morals, morals to nature, morals to fellow human beings, morals to the state. 2) The obstacles to the implementation of the Jumaji program include; Lack of time consistency in implementation, different reading abilities of students, lack of infrastructure facilities, the surrounding environment, namely limited space and the influence of friends.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of computational thinking-based learning and its results. Through this research, it can be seen how to integrate computational thinking in learning as well as knowing students' abilities to use the foundation of computational thinking in the learning process. Research using descriptive method with a qualitative research approach. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2022/2023 school year. The subjects in this study were 25 students in class V A at SD Kanisius Kadirojo, subdistrict Kalasan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Data analysis in this study used student questionnaires, student worksheets, written tests, and interview guide sheets. From this research, it can be seen that computational thinking can be integrated into learning by using computational thinking foundations in solving problems according to learning materials. Learning in this study uses the foundation of pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithms. Students can use these foundations indicated by 80% mastering pattern recognition skills, 72% mastering abstraction skills, and 100% mastering algorithm skills. The ability of students to understand learning material is also very good, shown by 76% of students passing the KKM. Students also feel happy with this computational-based learning and feel challenged by using the foundation
