Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a tropical climate and has a high intensity of solar irradiation. Seeing this situation, Indonesia is the right region to implement the installation of new and renewable energy such as PLTS. In the use of solar panels, the magnitude of the output power is determined by several environmental conditions, such as the intensity of sunlight, temperature, and the direction in which sunlight comes. To prevent damage and deterioration in the performance of solar panels, research is needed for a more accurate and efficient use of renewable energy. The study was a solar panel system with a Wemos D1 microcontroller that monitored online using Thing speak with the help of INA 219 and LDR sensors. Online monitoring system by recording data on current, voltage, and light intensity in real time and centralized. The system will store and record measurement data every 15 seconds in the form of JSON, XML, CSV file extensions. Error on the voltage sensor of 1.7% for and 3.2% for the current sensor. average panel voltage value of 12.77 V, average panel current value of 0.43 A and 2410 lux for light intensity at interval testing from 07:00 a.m.to 16:00p.m.

Abstract

The rail fastening system is a core component to fastening a rail on the railway sleeper to make it strong and solid. The position of the railway sleeper probably could move by the effect of the dynamic movement of railway wheels on the railroad. Elastic fastening which has a clamping force of 900-1100 kgf (kilogram-force) for each clip is one of the elastic fastening types. The deflection of Pandrol E-Clip is between 11,5 – 14 mm with the clamping force as 0,6 – 1,1 ton. The degradation of clamping force on fastening systems inevitably occurs by its use and regular railways operation. This study aims to create a strong, solid, and easy-to-operate measuring tool for clamping force on type E clip fastening systems. The design of the measuring tool of clamping force on type E clip fastening uses Solidworks software. After testing the measuring tool of clamping force on type E clip fastening systems, it shows that it is solid, countable and there is no form-change and damage on it. The design of that measuring tool can be effectively operated by two officers and it has 850 mm in height, and 270 m in width, and its weight including load cell and indicator reaches 17,83 kg. The function test on the measuring tool of the E-Clip fastening shows an average score of 1589,40 – 1682,50 kgf of clamping force. The result of clamping force measurement on the fastening by using a designed measuring tool is bigger than the need of clamping force of installed fastening namely 915,71 kgf.

Abstract

The buffer stop also offers a gradual deceleration to the train, lowering the chance of passenger harm and railway damage. The buffer stop's conduct is critical for the train system's safety and integrity. The researcher conducted an analysis of the behavior of the buffer stop after being hit by an oncoming train and experienced failure in braking by using solid steel materials and with an additional layer of rubber on the head end of the train stop buffer. With reference to the impact force parameters that have been calculated in previous studies so that it can be viewed from the stress that occurs and the value of the lateral movement that occurs at the buffer stops. From the results of the analysis of this study it is known that an increase in the ability of the buffer stops by replacing steel material with rubber does not provide a significant increase, however, thickening the flange and web of the buffer stops provides a significant increase in capability with a ratio of 3,582 to the applied stress. and increased ability to reduce the length of the drift by a ratio of 2,478.

Abstract

Efforts to build and develop a low-emission transportation system have been carried out, one of which is by applying biodiesel and gas to dual-fuel diesel engines. Biodiesel is an oxygenated, low-sulfur, and high flash point alternative diesel fuel. In the dual fuel mode, CNG is used as a substitute fuel and palm biodiesel as a combustion pilot which is injected directly into the combustion chamber at 13 °CA BTDC. CNG injection timing was 110 °CA ATDC and the CNG injection duration was gradually increased. Performance and combustion processes in single-fuel mode and dual-fuel mode are compared. The engine was kept at a constant speed of 2000 rpm at all load conditions. The results show that the dual fuel mode at low and medium loads produces in-cylinder pressure and the heat release rate is lower than the single fuel mode, but at high loads, it produces in-cylinder pressure and the heat release rate is 5.14% greater. CO and HC emissions produced by the dual fuel mode are higher than the single fuel mode at all loads. conversely, the dual-fuel mode produces 95.58% lower smoke emissions than the single-fuel mode at all loads.

Abstract

Voltage fluctuation is one of important parameter for power quality in electrification parameter. The voltage parameter is said to be good if the voltage level does not exceed or less than the standard voltage. In the operation of electric trains, several conditions can cause over and under voltage. Like when a train accelerates or decelerates it will affect the system voltage. This research study about voltage fluctuation on AC railway electrification. The method used in this study is to simulate a model of railway electrification such as traction substations, overhead electrification and rail infrastructure. System modeling is done using open power net software. The results of this simulation show the condition of voltage fluctuations on the bus, overhead wire and pantograph sides
