Abstract

This study aims to describe students’ scientific attitude through scientific approach at the eighth grade students of MTs. S. Ar- Raudhatul Hasanah 2 Lumut in 2017/2018 academic year. The research was conducted by using Class Action Research (CAR) for 3 months (April – June 2018) with 28 students as the sample. The research consists of two cycles. The first cycle, (1) the first meeting showed: (a) curiosity attitude was 14.3% (4 students) and (b) team work attitude was 35.7% (10 students) and (2) the second meeting showed: (a) attitude was 39.3% (11 students) and (b) team work attitude was 50% (14 students). The second cycle, the first meeting showed: (a) curiosity attitude was 75% (21 students) and (b) team work attitude was 82.1% (28 students). The research showed scientific approach can increase students’ scientific attitude.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to describe the effectiveness of using visual learning media on students’ biology achievement on the topic cell structure at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. This research was conducted by applying experimental (one group pre test post test design) with 37 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 179 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found that: (a) the average of using visual learning media was 3.20 (good category) and (b) the average of students’ biology achievement on the topic cell structure before using visual learning media was 70.41 (good category) and after using visual learning media was 79.43 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistics by using ttest, one tail, the result showed ttable was less than tcalculated (1.69 < 10.78). It means, there is a significant influence of using visual learning media on students’ biology achievement on the topic cell structure at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

This study aims to know whether the use of practicum herbaria which is integrated with a scientific approach has effectiveness to increase students’ psychomotor on the topic pteridophyta at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted for 3 months (April– June 2018) by applying descriptive method with 25 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster sampling technique from 105 students. Observation was used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analyzes, it could be found that a) the average of using practicum herbaria which is integrated with a scientific approach was 80 (very good category) and (b) level of effectiveness at the first meeting was 74.32% (effective category) and the second meeting was 92.7 % (very effective category). The average of the both meeting was 85.67% (very effective category). It is concluded the use of practicum herbaria which is integrated with a scientific approach has effectiveness to increase students’ psychomotor on the topic pteridophyta at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of use multimedia on improvement of students’ learning motivation at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Padangsiidmpuan. The research was conducted for 3 months (April– June 2018) by applying descriptive method with 27 students as the sample and they were taken by using random sampling technique from 105 students. Observation and questionnaire were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analyzes, it could be found that a) the average of using multimedia was 77.14 (good category) and (b) the percentage of students’ learning motivation was 65% (effective category). It means, use multimedia on improvement of students’ learning motivation at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Padangsiidmpuan is effective.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students’ learning style and the factors that influence it in biology teaching learning process at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by applying descriptive qualitative for 3 months (April-June 2018). The informants of the research were the tenth grade students of IPA -2 (23 students). Questionnaires, interview, and documentation were used in collecting the data. The result showed: (1) students’ learning visual style was 56.53% (13 students), (2) students’ learning auditory style was 30.43% (7 students), and (3) students’ learning kinesthetic style was 13.04% (3 students). The influence of students learning were (1) internal factors which include intelligence, interest, motivation, and (2) external factors which include school environment.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to know whether there is a significant correlation of using approach scientific on critical thinking ability and student’s motivation at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sibabangan. The research was conducted by using descriptive quantitative by applying correlational method with 35 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 107 students. Questionnaire and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using scientific approach was 86 (very good category), (b) the average of critical thinking ability was 91% (very good category), and (c) the average of student’s motivation was 92% (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using Pearson correlation, the result showed (1) there is a significant correlation of using approach scientific on critical thinking ability because rtable was less than rcalculated (0.8365<0.98), and (2) there is a significant correlation of using approach scientific and student’s motivation because rtable was less than rcalculated (0.8365<0.98). Abstract

ABSTRAK This study aims to determine whether there is an influence on the use of SQ3R learning methods assisted by video learning on student biology learning outcomes in the subject matter of the human respiratory system in Tukka 2 Public High School Science XI class. This research was conducted in April-June 2019. This study used descriptive and experimental methods. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPA 2 Tukka High School consisting of 2 classes with a sample of 58 people. The sampling technique used is total sampling. The instruments used are observation and test sheets. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the descriptive analysis, the average value of the use of the SQ3R learning method assisted by learning videos reached 90.5 which was included in the "Very Good" category. Biology learning outcomes of students before (pretest) using the SQ3R learning method assisted by learning videos reached an average value of 54.48 which was included in the "Less" category, while the biology learning outcomes of students after (posttest) using the SQ3R learning method assisted learning videos reached average scores was 68.70 which is included in the "Enough" category. Next is inferential statistical analysis using the "t-test" formula with the help of SPSS version 21. The test criteria used are Ha accepted and H0 rejected if the significance level is < 0.05. The results of calculations performed obtained a correlation between two variables is 0.635 with a significant of 0.00. Thus 0.00 < 0.05. This means that there is a significant influence between the use of the SQ3R learning method assisted by video learning on student biology learning outcomes in the subject matter of the human respiratory system in class XI IPA 2 Tukka Public High School. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis capung yang terdapat di Kawasan Sungai Aek Silo Tapanuli Selatan. Metode yang digunakan peneliti dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif melalui pendekatan eksploratif. Peneliti melakukan Pengumpulan data berupa data lapangan dan laboratorium. Data hasil dari lapangan berupa pengamatan langsung pada kawasan dan jalur yang sudah ditetapkan di Kawasan Sungai Aek Silo. Selanjutnya data laboratorium adalah hasil identifikasi dan koleksi keanekaragaman jenis capung yang didapatkan di lokasi. Waktu pengambilan sampel dilakukan dua tahap. Tahap pertama pukul 08.00-12.00 WIB dan tahap kedua pukul 14.00-17.00 WIB. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil berupa capung yang beranekaragam jenis. Jenis yang didapatkan di Kawasan Sungai Aek Silo sebanyak 8 jenis yaitu Pantala flavescens, Neurothemis ramburii, Orthetrum sabina, Orthetrum testaceum, Aetriamanta gracilis, Pseudagrion microcepahlum, Agriocnemis pigmaea, dan Copera marginipes. Semua jenis Capung ini merupakan golongan dari 2 sub ordo dan 2 famili yaitu sub ordo anisoptera dari famili libellulidae dan sub ordo zygoptera dari famili coenagrionidae.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara penguatan yang diberikan oleh guru dengan minat belajar biologi siswa di kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sibabangun. Penelitian ini berlangsung selama ± 3 bulan yaitu mulai terhitung dari Juni - Agustus 2019 dimulai dari pengambilan data sampai pengolahan data hasil penelitian. Untuk itu penelitian ini mencakup dua variabel yaitu penguatan yang diberikan oleh guru sebagai variabel X dan minat belajar siswa sebagai variabel Y. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Sibabangun, dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 35 siswa dan sampel penelitian diambil dengan cara cluster sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket, yang berisi penguatan yang diberikan oleh guru dan minat belajar biologi. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan analisis deskriptif maka diperoleh nilai rata-rata penguatan yang diberikan oleh guru adalah 70,14 jika dikonsultasikan berada pada kategori “baik” dan minat belajar siswa yaitu 72,73 berada pada kategori “baik” berdasarkan uji normalitas jika signifikan lebih besar dari 0,05 maka dinyatakan normal dan jika lebih kecil dari 0,05 maka dinyatakan tidak normal. Berdasarkan dari hasil uji normalitas yang didapat tentang penguatan yang diberikan oleh guru dengan minat belajar biologi diperoleh 0,200 berarti 0,200 > 0,05. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal. Kata kunci : Penguatan Yang Diberikan Guru, Minat Belajar

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara penggunaan model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa biologi kelas X SMA Negeri 1Angkola Baarat. Jenis penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat yang terdiri dari 3 kelas dengan jumlah 107 siswa, yang menjadi sampel penelitian sebanyak 35 siswa. Tehnik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah Cluster Random Sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dan angket. Hasil perhitungan dari model pembelajaran problem based learning di peroleh nilai rata-rata 85,86 berada pada kategori “Sangat Baik”. Sedangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning diperoleh nilai rata-rata 91,86 yang berada pada kategori “Sangat Baik”. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan menggunakan aplikasi software SPSS 2.2 dengan hasil siknifikasi sebesar 0,000 <0,05 berarti hipotesis di terima. Artinya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara penggunaan model problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa biologi di kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Kata kunci : Problem Based Learning, Berpikir Kreatif
