Abstract

In addition to offering a new interpretation of hadis that allows violence in the prayer education also shows that the main spirit as the practice of the prophet is prioritizing education by wise and gentle demeanor, not violence. Here it is also proved that, in practice, the Prophet never used force in educating his Companions, but rather gently proved and profound influence in their souls.

Abstract

It is undeniable that some Indonesian Muslims understand Islam in a radicalism perspective. They used several means to disseminate this radicalism through the organization of cadres, speeches in mosques are managed by their control, publishing magazines, booklets and books, and through various websites on the internet. As a result, Islamic radicalism has entered the most schools in some areas. If this is not immediately anticipated, it can help in growing the intolerance attitudes among students as opposed to the purpose of religious education itself.

Abstract

Morality shows people’s life quality and how moral education could influence them. Religious people have an assumption that religion always teaches followers to do good and forbid them from doing badness. Islam, in the context of Indonesia, is of course influenced by the real condition of the society. In relation to this, there is Javanese philosopher, Ki Ageng Suryomemtaram, who thought the character building that is still relevant. He thought, “feeling is the center of everyone’s personality”. Based on his idea and feeling, he divides them into four dimensions of life.

Abstract

Conflict and violence based on ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-groups (SARA) still become an inherent part of the historical life of Indonesian people. It is quite clear that the Islamic education has not been effective enough to instill values of peace. Therefore, the reconstruction and renewal of Islamic education should be done. It is necessary for us to begin with the reconstruction of the learning materials, and by using the novel as a medium. One of the novels that are loaded with the values of peace is “Dan Damai di Bumi!“ written by Karl May.

Abstract

Character education has become an important part of the national education system for character education has been positioned to be one step for curing social illness. However, it is still asked about the content and process that will be done by the leaders of the educational character of this nation. The moral values which are to be developed in the educational character of the nation of Indonesia consist of religious values, cultural values, and the values of Pancasila. Those are character educations which can be regarded as an authentic or specific character education in Indonesia.

Sense of life is achieved by realizing three values of life, the values of creative (creative values), the values of the experiment (experiential values), and the values of attitude (attitudinal values). With this logotherapy expect we will be able to better understand the potential and spiritual resources that are universal. Abstract

Violence in the name of religion often happens in Indonesia. Pesantren is considered as a nest of terrorism because it has been being taught religious radicalism here. This study can be concluded that Islam is a religion of universal love (rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin). Here, it is taught education that upholds the principle of mutual respect for differences, harmony, peace, civility, and other manifestations of noble character. But the teachings of “rahmatan lil ‘Alamin” is often reduced to justify violence in the name of religion by sensible dogmatic radical groups. De-radicalization steps are needed to develop an Islamic education that is more humane.

Abstract

Surakarta was a city that had a high intensity of religious social conflict that has to be managed as well as possible, transformed, and developed peace. This research is about the roles of Pesantren of Al Muayyad Windan in which its capacity to transform the conflict in Surakarta. The research findings showed that religious conflict transformation that could be done and based on the principle of the admission existence and the empowerment existence. The principles were based on the theology that was perceived and become as the motivation to do social changes and developed the transformative Islam unto the multiculturalism.

Abstract

Peace education is a process of acquiring knowledge, development of attitudes, andbehaviors to be able to live mutually respectful, tolerant, peaceful, mutual aid, and nonviolence. Peace education that is conducted by “FPUB” is to bring into reality the true brotherhood among the believers that are realized by tolerance-active attitude, honesty, respect for religious freedom, and faith. The program is implemented in order to deradicalization of religious groups such as discussion and dialogue among religions, social solidarity action, peaceful action, and prayer together.
