Abstract

The river transportation in Banjarmasin City is experiencing a shift where people prefer to use land transportation over river transportation. This is happening due to several driving factors causing the community to abandon river transportation. As Banjarmasin City is dubbed as the city of a thousand rivers, this contrasts with the abandonment of river transportation. This writing aims to understand the reasons behind the shift from river transportation to land transportation for the people of Banjarmasin City. The method employed in this research is historical methodology, which involves four stages: heuristic, comprising the collection of historical sources such as data, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The research findings indicate several causes for the decline in river transportation usage, leading the community to shift to land transportation. These include river narrowing, construction of excessively low bridges, and accumulation of waste on the river surface, which hinder the speed of river transportation flow.

Abstract

This article aims to explain Sketsmasa magazine's framing of the Old and New Order rulers. The method used in this research is the historical method. The results show that Sketsmasa positively framed the Old and New Order governments because the government banned media that threatened their status quo. Sketsmasa's positive framing of the Old Order ruler, Sukarno, was by conveying Sukarno's outstanding leadership and correcting slanders against Sukarno that could defame him. During the New Order, Sketsmasa framed differently. Sketsmasa's framing was not only in the form of positive things about the then ruler, Soeharto, but also negative things about the previous ruler, Soekarno. Sketsmasa attacked Sukarno's personality and showed the crimes of the Old Order that had never been shown by Sketsmasa before. The aim was to create the impression in society that Soeharto was the savior of the abuses committed by Sukarno during the Old Order.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of acculturation of customs, traditions, language, and culinary between Sundanese and Minangkabau tribes in Padang City. The research method used is the historical method through four stages, namely first, heuristics, namely the stage of collecting data in the form of documents or books, articles, journals and interviews. Second, source criticism is testing data by conducting internal and external criticism of data from various sources. Third, interpretation, which is the interpretation of data so that it becomes a meaningful fact. The last stage is historical writing in the form of a thesis. The results show that cultural acculturation includes aspects of language, traditions, food and clothing. This acculturation is supported by marriage between ethnicities, economic relations, similarities in beliefs and views of life resulting in unity. The unity is maintained by individual cultural agents (Sundanese cultural activists in Padang City and groups (Paguyuban Warga Sunda Sumatera Barat, local government, ethnic Minang). The cultural activists agreed to create peace in everyday life according to their respective roles and positions, so that Sundanese culture has social engineering that can build harmony in Padang City.

Abstract

This research examines whether there is a causal relationship between variables, namely Out-Class At The Museum (OCAM) learning on motivation and history learning outcomes. This research is a quantitative experimental research with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The techniques used to collect data are tests, observation sheets, and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and inferentially. The research results show that students' motivation and learning outcomes in class are still low. It is known that learning motivation is an average of 49.5 and learning outcomes are an average of 46 during the pretest. Then, when treated with OCAM learning, learning motivation was an average of 74, and learning outcomes were an average of 62 during the posttest. OCAM learning is effective for motivation and learning outcomes. This is known from the learning motivation variable with a value of Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000<0.05 and the learning outcome variable has a value of Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000<0.05, so there is a significant difference between the average pretest and posttest results.
