Abstract

Technological advances in additive manufacturing technology have been growing, one of which in rapid prototype, making prototipe with use technology is three-dimensional (3D) printing, which works by melting thermoplastic material in the making of a model or prototype. The materials used are Polylactic Acid (PLA) and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) which are molded by melting by heating the nozel according to the melting point and flowing in layers to form an object or objects. Design thinking is a method with a solution-based approach to solving a problem, with an iterative process to understand users, challenge an assumption, redefine the problem in an effort to identify strategies and alternative solutions to a problem, especially in the design process. Design thinking has five steps in the process, empathize, define, ideate, prototipe and test. This literature review aims to see the influence of the pengerjaan prototipe process in the design thinking method using 3d printing in the design process. The method used in this paper is to use descriptive qualitative research methods by analyzing the existing literature. So it can be concluded that the use of 3d printing in the design thinking method can be a new way of making prototipe in the design process.

Abstract

Humans are living beings who have a social spirit and depend on their surroundings, including the natural environment, which has a reciprocal relationship to the ecosystem of life. Natural damage is a characteristic of disruption of an environment caused by various irresponsible activities that have an impact on all things that can harm various parties. The emergence of forest fires, waste smoke from industrialization activities, carbon fumes from vehicles have become quite serious problems for the environment and health so that they become an urgency that must be resolved, especially the increasingly emergency condition of the earth due to global warming. In this study aims to describe and develop the design of pollution absording plant designs with the vertical garden method considering that it is an anticipatory step to save the environment. The resulting product has a new value offered and a high use value so that it can be used as an innovation to the environment, the use of environmentally friendly and easy materials and systems so that it becomes an advantage of the product. This design process includes various stages, namely problem formulation, data analysis, solution formulation, design development in the from of initial sketches, design development, and final design. It is hoped that the application of this designed product in public places will create a green city concept “Green City” which will change the condition and situation of a healthy and clean city free from pollution.

Abstract

Albasia is a type of softwood that is easily found in India, South China and Southeast Asia. In Indonesia itself albasia has been spread in various regions so it is very easy to find. The existence of albasia around the community is often considered not important and not useful even used as firewood, but this albasia is able to prevent erosion and this plant is also easily bred. In addition, albasia has an external substance that is able to protect from termite attacks so it is good to use as raw material for making furniture. This qualitative research aims to use albasia wood waste into environmentally friendly cutlery. As we know, cutlery is a thing that is much sought after either by parents who are already married, or by young people. With this research we can find out that albasia is very beneficial for the community and can be a source of livelihood for them. A lot of albasia wood waste is not only used as firewood, but can be used and made into something more valuable and also useful in the future. With this research, the idea came up to make plates made from albasia wood waste that is found in the streets and in rural areas with very large populations and certainly not utilized to the maximum.

Abstract

The problem of waste in Indonesia is an endless topic to talk about. Various methods have been carried out as an effort to overcome the overflowing pile of garbage, especially the garbage that is scattered everywhere, including in the ditches. This problem can spread to all aspects of life such as health, social, environmental, economic, even political and cultural. The lack of public understanding of environmental conservation and the poor quality of waste management are the main factors in the accumulation of waste that occurs in Indonesia, especially in densely populated areas. This study aims to find an approach related to waste reduction and management solutions on Jalan Petir, Tawang District, Tasikmalaya City so that it does not scatter and clog the surrounding waters, especially the ditches that stretch along densely populated roads. This research using survey methods and qualitative analysis has resulted in the design of a coordinated waste disposal flow from households, the process of sorting waste to temporary shelters and ending in final disposal sites that cannot be separated from cooperation between the community, the government, and surrounding businesses. It is very important to do this so that the process and goal of reducing waste accumulation runs well and reduces the risk of other adverse impacts such as floods, virus outbreaks, and other disasters that can occur if this waste problem is not handled properly as it should be.

Abstract

Culinary development in Indonesia is very rapid, it makes the proliferation of street food traders in big cities Indonesia one of them is pecel lele. The street food vendors must provide cutlery and drinking because many buyers eat the dishes in place, therefore there will be activities to wash cutlery and drink. These activities require clean water used for washing, generally the traders only bring a supply of clean water to wash only one or two drums it is very less. Moreover, the placement of drums on the floor making it difficult to remove the Clean Water. The water is used repeatedly so it is not efficient and effective. The purpose of this study is to create a design of clean water storage facilities for street vendors that are used during the activity of washing cutlery and drinking. The method used is qualitative to determine the needs of users by way of interviews and direct observation. The results of the design in the form of clean water storage facilities for street vendors with an emphasis on ergonomics aspects, so that users can be safer and more comfortable during activities. The results of this design is expected to be a reference and reference research and design in similar terms.
