Abstract

This study focuses on the communication between parents and students to enhance students' motivation in studying Islamic religious education. Parental communication plays a crucial role in providing motivation, which is considered a key factor in improving students' learning outcomes. A qualitative approach was employed to investigate this issue, utilizing interviews and observations as the primary research methods. The research was conducted at MI Al-Ihsan 1 B, located in Jaddung village, Pragaan sub-district, Sumenep district. The study participants consisted of five student guardians, five students, and two teachers from MI Al-Ihsan 1 B. To ensure data validity, the researcher employed the triangulation method. The communication between parents and children that enhances motivation to learn Islamic religious education occurs through face-to-face interactions. Verbal communication, both oral and written, plays a significant role in this process.

Abstract

This study addresses the issue of students' lack of independence, influenced by various factors including inherent traits, environment, parenting style, birth order, and economic circumstances. The role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers goes beyond knowledge transmission, requiring an understanding of students' diverse characteristics to foster independence. This research focuses on Marhalah Tsanawiyah TMI Putri Al-Amien Prenduan as a case study. The objectives are to (1) explore the role of PAI teachers in cultivating students' independence attitudes and (2) identify the steps taken to foster independence in the same context. Employing a qualitative field research approach, data is collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis involves reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions, with validity ensured through triangulation. Findings reveal that PAI teachers play multiple roles as educators, managers, supervisors, and motivators to foster independence. Strategies employed include providing guidance for emotional independence and instilling problem-solving skills to promote behavioral independence. This research contributes insights into enhancing students' independence in the context of Islamic religious education.

Abstract

Evaluation plays a vital role in learning as a deliberate and purposeful activity. Teachers consciously engage in learning evaluation to ascertain students' learning outcomes and receive feedback regarding their teaching practices. Evaluation directly relates to the purpose of an activity, measuring the extent to which a goal is achieved. Generally, evaluation is understood as a systematic process of determining the value of something—be it provisions, activities, decisions, work points, processes, individuals, objects, or others—based on specific criteria. It involves assessing and comparing the subject with predetermined criteria to gauge its performance against general standards and measure the effectiveness of the evaluation subject. Evaluation serves as an essential tool in assessing progress, identifying areas for improvement, and making informed decisions to enhance the learning process.

Abstract

Early marriage remains prevalent in village communities deeply rooted in culture and customs, leading to various social problems. This study aims to describe the implications of early marriage on child care in Larangan Perreng Village, focusing on factors causing early marriage, forms of child care, and the resulting implications. Qualitative field research was conducted in Larangan Perreng Village to gather data, and triangulation techniques were employed to ensure data validity. Economic, self, and parental factors were identified as contributors to early marriage in the village. Couples who married early adopted democratic, permissive, and authoritarian parenting styles to raise their children. The findings revealed that early marriage had negative implications on parenting, including increased household conflicts, adverse effects of physical punishment on children's well-being, suboptimal parenting practices, and insufficient independence in child-rearing. These outcomes highlight the importance of addressing early marriage and promoting effective child care strategies within the community.

Abstract

Islam is a comprehensive religion that encompasses various aspects of human life, including faith, worship, morals, and interactions (muamalah). Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was sent to this world as a perfect exemplar of good morals, guided by Allah (SWT), and was able to transform negativity into positivity. However, in today's modern era, there is a decline in moral values among teenagers and children, partly due to the failure of education to instill good morals in individuals. Thus, this study aims to explore M. Quraish Shihab's perspective on the noble character (Akhlaq Al-Karimah) of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in his interactions with people (muamalah) as presented in his interpretation, Tafsir Al-Misbah. The researcher chose Al-Misbah's interpretation due to its detailed insights compared to other interpretations. This study adopts a library research methodology with a focus on character analysis. Through this investigation, it was discovered that the Qur'an addresses Akhlaqul Karimah in three main aspects: education (Surah Al-Alaq, verses 1-5), marriage (Surah An-Nisa', verse 19), and commerce (Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 275).

Abstract

This article aims to explore the concept of Shifa' (healing) in the Qur'an from the perspective of M. Quraish Shihab in his Tafsir Al-Misbah. The research adopts a qualitative approach with a focus on library research. The primary data sources are books directly related to the research topic. In Surah At-Taubah, verse 14, M. Quraish Shihab explains that Allah SWT relieves the hearts of the polytheists and removes the hidden anger that believers carry due to past persecutions. Surah Ash-Shu'ara', verse 80, emphasizes that healing can only be achieved through Allah SWT, particularly for those who deny His oneness. In Surah Al-Isra', verse 82, M. Quraish Shihab highlights the Qur'an as a remedy for doubts and spiritual ailments, serving as a source of mercy for believers. Furthermore, in Surah An-Nahl, verse 69, the commentary by Quraish Shihab in Fihi Shifa' linnasl explains the Qur'an's healing properties, often symbolized by honey, which is believed to possess medicinal qualities. Lastly, in Tafsir Al-Misbah, Surah Fushilat, verse 44, guidance and healing are interpreted as impacting individuals differently, with some benefiting and others remaining unaffected based on their beliefs.

Abstract

This article examines the strategies employed by school principals in developing an education system towards excellence in MI Islamiyah IV Pragaan Daya. It describes the principal's strategies and explores the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence the implementation of these strategies. The study adopts a qualitative research approach, specifically a case study method, utilizing observation, interviews, and data collection techniques. To ensure data validity, measures such as credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmation are employed. The research findings indicate that the principal's strategies include enhancing teacher capacity, utilizing educational media and tools, fostering community collaboration, and enforcing discipline. These strategies encompass various aspects such as non-academic achievements, extracurricular activities, outputs, and the development of educational components such as goals, teachers and staff, curriculum, forecasting, and environment. However, several inhibiting factors are identified, including low student motivation, discipline issues, and limited financial resources. On the other hand, supporting factors include education, forecasting, and human resources.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the role of caregivers at Hidayatut Thalibin Islamic Boarding School in shaping students' religious values through the Book of Fathul Qarib. Education plays a crucial role in shaping individuals, as it forms the foundation of their overall personality. In Islam, religious and moral education holds great significance and is an integral part of human life. Without religion and morals, humans would resemble a collection of aimless creatures without order in their lives. This qualitative research adopts a descriptive approach, with data analysis involving data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. Triangulation is employed to ensure data validity. The findings of this study reveal the following: 1. The formation of religious values through the Book of Fathul Qarib, accomplished through memorization and interactive question-and-answer sessions facilitated by caregivers. 2. Supporting factors include direct motivation from caregivers and effective teaching methods employed by them, while inhibiting factors encompass lack of concentration and restlessness among students.

Abstract

This abstract aims to discuss the importance of supervision in achieving quality education and fostering competent teachers. Education plays a vital role in developing a superior generation with character, aligned with the national philosophy of Pancasila, and contributing to society, the nation, and the state. In the current era of globalization, where competitiveness is crucial, quality education becomes essential. Supervision activities conducted by supervisors significantly contribute to the progress of education. Through effective supervision and guidance, teachers can enhance their skills and ultimately improve students' learning outcomes. Both principals and supervisors should possess the necessary understanding of their roles and responsibilities in order to produce qualified teachers. Several competencies are required to fulfill these tasks successfully. This study emphasizes the significance of supervision in shaping the educational landscape and the role of competent supervisors in fostering quality education.

Abstract

In the Islamic worldview, learning holds significant meaning, as it is an integral part of human existence. Learning activities play a crucial role in education, as they involve the interaction between educators and students. Notably, Imam Al-Ghazali, a prominent Islamic scholar and educator, contributed significantly to the study of learning activities and the development of Islamic educational thought in his time. However, in contemporary times, many educators and students, particularly in Islamic Religious Education, tend to uncritically adopt the Western education concept and neglect the teachings of Islamic scholars like Imam Al-Ghazali. Imam Al-Ghazali, renowned as a Sufi scholar, provided monumental works in various areas of Islamic studies, including education. His thoughts and teachings were influenced by Sufi values, emphasizing the integration of Islamic teachings in learning and education. Al-Ghazali viewed learning as a means of worship and seeking the pleasure of Allah. He believed that the learning process was a spiritual journey to comprehend the essence of knowledge, shape behavior, and draw closer to Allah for worldly and ultimate salvation.
