Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic which is still ongoing today has a major impact on various sectors, one of which is education. The world of education also feels the impact. Educators must ensure that teaching and learning activities continue even though students remain at home. The solution is that educators are required to design learning media as innovations in learning by utilizing online media. The purpose of this study is as a form of general review of online learning during the covid-19 pandemic and what are the problems faced by teachers and students in the process of learning Arabic in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic. This research is included in the literature study. The analysis was carried out from various articles and similar sources related to online learning during the pandemic.

Abstract

The English language is being used more and more often, which pushes nations and individuals to thoroughly learn it. Although there have been several attempts to increase awareness of English use, many students still object to the language being used in an academic setting. Because English writing is the most challenging talent, students and teachers who concentrate on it reach a saturation point. However, given that one of the issues is that learners have a hard time writing in English, it is important to identify the underlying causes of these issues. Consequently, the bases' answers are modified to better meet the demands of the learners. This study examined the issues that students have when planning and composing narrative texts. Descriptive and qualitative research methods are used. The research's findings gathered through observation, testing, and interviews. The third semester Hamzanwadi University student was the study's target audience. The findings indicated that difficulties in producing narrative text in terms of syntax, vocabulary, spelling, difficulty, and resolution. There were other contributing elements to the issues, such as how little English is read and written by learners. The students have a variety of options for honing their narrative text writing, including reading books and writing exercises.

Abstract

A study on Analysis of English Language Teaching Strategies is a type of quantitative and qualitative research. This research took place at SMA 1 Pengasih, Kulonprogo. Specifically, this research was conducted in the tenth grade of the English Class of SMA 1 Pengasih, Kulongprogo. This study attempted to analyze the ELT strategies based a documented classroom activity. Qualitative research focused on phenomena that occurred in natural settings and the data were analyzed without the use of statistics. Meanwhile, quantitative data, which is considered to be closed-ended questions, was typically gathered through attitude, behavioral, and performance instruments, as well as checklists in an attempt to answer narrow questions and explain the relationships between variables. The following assumptions guided this study were a) there were ELT strategies utilized by Indonesian teachers as shown in the recorded video clip, b) interactive ELT learning activities could be developed in ELT classroom, c) interactive learning activities could be developed consistently with the criteria used in the study.

Abstract

This research aimed at investigating the effect of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) method towards students’ English learning achievement for the eighth grade of MTs. Muallimat NW Kelayu. It was categorized into quantitative research and included in an experimental method. TGT method was applied in the experimental group and another method was applied in control group. In gathering the data, the entire students of the eighth grade comprising 36 students were tested pre-test and post-test. Furthermore, the data was analyzed quantitatively to know the ideal maximum score (SMi), ideal mean (Mi), and ideal deviation score (SDi). Meanwhile, the hypothesis was tested using t-test with the significance level of 0,05 (p=0,05). The result showed that t-test was higher than t-table (3.68>2.02). The alternative hypothesis was accepted. In this case, TGT method has positive effect toward English learning achievement for the students of the eighth grade of MTs. Abstract

This study aims to describe language terms about culture or other expressions, describe the naming process in language, describe politeness in language; and describe ethnicity from the point of view of language. The approach used in this research is a theoretical and methodological approach with descriptive qualitative research. The analysis technique uses descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of this study obtained data on language terms about culture or other expressions found in the Javanese traditional wedding procession which has a strong influence on Java because it uses the Kawi language. Meanwhile, in the modern wedding procession, Javanese and foreign terms are found. Furthermore, the term naming process in language at the bridal gathering procession was found to be in the form of using words that are considered more contemporary than using standard Indonesian words, this is due to cultural shifts and lifestyles that occur in society. In addition, the use of language that is in accordance with the elements of politeness is in the form of Saman, Panjenengan, Priyai, Pini Elder, Hadi Elder and Pepunden. The conclusion obtained in this study is that the Javanese traditional wedding meeting has more cultural terms, naming, politeness and cultural entities in terms of Kawi language which is used to preserve ancient Javanese culture which is not widely practiced. Meanwhile, in modern traditional weddings, they rarely use standard Indonesian or often use foreign languages ​​to make them seem more contemporary and also use Javanese language with the intention of adding to the polite impression of the procession.
