Abstract

The amount of borax that is present in wet noodles was determined using a curcumin reagent as a color regent. This created rosocyanin complexes, which were then monitored using UV-Vis spectrophotometry with the maximum wave length set at 545.95 nm. Validation was performed on this method before it was utilized in a sample that was obtained from the Ciputat market. According to the findings, the calibration curve is linear between 6.25 and 50 g/ml, and the regression equation is y = 0.008 + 0.012x, with a correlation coefficient of 0.9994. The detection limit for this method was 3.1132 g/ml, while the qualification limit was 10.3775 g/ml. The recovery rate obtained through simulation for moist nodles was 99.767 1.114%. The findings of an analysis conducted on a sample of wet noodles sold at the Ciputat market revealed that four out of the five samples tested positive for the presence of borax at levels of 3.76112 0.0451, 108.592 0.02185, 117.9461 0.01455, and 6.275 0.0221 respectively.

Abstract

Propolis is a resinous substance that comes from the wood and top of the plants gathered by bees, then mixed with wax and bee saliva. Propolis contains several active compounds such as flavonoids that could act as an antioxidant. The content of the active compound in propolis depends on the geographic factor, the bee species, and how to make the extract. The purpose of this research was to determine the antioxidant activity of propolis extracts Trigona sp from Cibubur with 96% ethanol using the DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhidrazyl) method. In this study the vitamin C was a positive control. The measurement of antioxidant activity used UV-Vis spectrophotometer with it's wavelength 517 nm. The results showed that the IC50 of propolis extract was 416.486 ppm while vitamin C was 5.96 ppm.

Abstract

The beetle, or Piper betle (Linn. ), is a member of the family Piperaceae and is commonly employed in beetle eating. Beetle leaves essential oils were distilled using steam and water and then separated into their component time periods. A total of 0.061%, 0.034%, 0.027%, and 0.015% were obtained from samples of F1, F2, F3, and F4 fractions, respectively. In a GC-MS analysis of essential oils, the five most abundant chemical components were identified as chavibetol, caryophyllene, patchouli alcohol, phenol,2-metoksi- 4(1-prophenyl)-acetate, and 4-allyl-1,2-diacetoxybenzene. This antibacterial action is thought to be due to the presence of all of these primary chemical components. Essential oils from beetle leaves were tested for their antibacterial properties using the microdilluton technique. All of the essential oil fractions were shown to be effective against Staphylococcus epidermidis and Streptococcus mutans but ineffective against Bacillus subtilis. All essential oil components have 0.25% MIC values against Staphylococcus epidermidis. But the most sensitive bacteria to the fourth component were Steptococcus mutans, at 0.25 percent. After treating bacteria with 1 MIC and 2 MIC of the oils, a vandalism test on the bacteria's cell walls revealed the oils' inhibitory action.

Abstract

Nutritional status is a factor that can determine the quality of human resources. Factors associated with nutritional status include health status and level of consumption of nutrients. Dental caries is a disease that can affect the nutritional condition of the child so that it can cause nutritional problems. Consumption levels of nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins and fats are not only related to nutritional status but may also be associated with the severity of dental caries. The sample used in this study amounted up to 50 people. Based on the multivariate test results obtained that the level of carbohydrate consumption is a factor confounding the relationship between the severity of dental caries and the nutritional status of students in grade two. The school is expected to increase participation in the school canteen in the provision of nutritious foods and to increase the involvement of teachers in providing information about the behavior of clean and healthy. For further research it is expected to examine the variables that were not examined in this study. Abstract

Fruits and vegetables are good sources of fiber and are the most important among all fibers and other foods. The nutrients contained in fruits and vegetables have many benefits, especially for adolescents, especially in preventing degenerative diseases. The study sample totaled 120 students. Data analysis consisted of univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using chi-square statistical tests, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression tests. The results showed that most adolescents consume less fruits and vegetables (78.3%). Based on bivariate analysis known that sex (p-value 0.423), nutritional knowledge (p-value 0.655), avaibility of fruits and vegetables (p-value 0.503), preference (p-value 0.474), fathers's education (p-value 0.471) ), maternal education (p-value 0.332), father's job (p-value 0.115), maternal employment (p-value 0.242).
