Abstract

Soybeans continue to increase linearly from year to year, but the realized results cannot meet the demand. This study aims to determine the effect of oil palm empty fruit bunch ash on soybean plant growth (Glycine max L.). This research was conducted in the village of Aek hitetoras, Marbau sub-district, North Labuhanbatu district, North Sumatra. This research was conducted from April to June 2021. The research design used was a non-factorial randomized block design (RAK) with 4 treatments, namely J0: (Empty bunches of ash 0 grams/plant). J1 : (Empty bunches of oil palm ash 300 grams/plant). J2 : (Empty bunches of oil palm ash 600 grams/plant). J3 : (Empty oil palm bunch ash 900 grams/plant). Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, stem diameter. The data were analyzed using the average test with the level of ash of empty fruit bunches of oil palm. The results showed that the best treatment was using the J3 treatment (900 grams/plant of oil palm empty fruit bunch ash). Keywords: soybean, growth, jangkos ash

Abstract

Palm flower is a plant that is widely distributed in the tropics. Originally from Madagascar, it was known as Madagascar periwinkle. The components of active compounds present in blood sites are phenolic acids, alkaloids, and flavonoids. Palm flower leaves contain a lot of flavonoid compounds that function as antioxidants, stimulate the production of nitrite oxidants (can dilate blood vessels), inhibit erythrocyte clumping, and can inhibit the growth of cancer cells. This study aims to observe the morphological characteristics and determine the content of phytochemical compounds in various varieties of palm flower (Catharanthus roseus) collection of the Labuhanbatu University experimental garden. The materials used in this study were 4 types of palm flower plant varieties collected by Labuhanbatu University. The method in this research is a survey with a qualitative approach to collect information related to the collected data. The results of observations of morphological characteristics were differences in stem color and flower color of palm flower and differences in flavonoids in each palm flower, and palm flower TW was palm flower which had the highest flavonoid content, namely 663.80. Keywords: Palm flower, morphology, flavonoids

Abstract

One of the factors that influence growth and yield of cucumber is growing media fertility. Fertility of growing media can be increased by the composition of several growing media, through the use of planting media such as solid, manure, sand, soil. expected to increase growth and yield of cucumber plants. The study was carried out on the Labuhanbatu Stiper experiment area located on Jl Manunggal Amd Bakaran Batu Rantau Selatan Kab. Labuhanbatu North Sumatra. Starting from December 2018 to completion. The study was conducted using Non Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 1 planting media treatment factor, namely by using the composition of several planting media with 8 treatments (P0: Soil (control), P1: Solid + Soil (1: 3), P2: Fertilizer Cage + Land (1: 3), P3: Land + Sand (3: 1), P4: Land + Solid + Manure (2: 1: 1), P5: Land + Solid + Sand (2: 1: 1), P6: Soil + Manure + Sand (2: 1: 1), P7: Soil + Solid + Manure + Sand (1: 1: 1: 1) The observed parameters are plant length, stem diameter, number of leaves, and fruit weight The results of this study indicate that the utilization of several planting media compositions in treatment P5 affects the parameters of plant length, stem diameter, number of leaves, fruit weight. Keywords : planting medium composition, production and growth, cucumber

Abstract

Sticky corn varieties (waxy corn) are local varieties of corn. Pulut corn is developed in several areas of South Sulawesi. It has the advantage that it tastes delicious and savory so it can be used as a food ingredient. This study aims to determine the growth and yield of glutinous corn ( Zea mays ceratina L.) from different application times. This research was conducted in an experimental field in Tebing Linggahara Village, Bilahbarat District, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra. This research was conducted from April to June 2021. The design used in this study was a Non-Faculty Randomized Block Design (RAK).torial with 6 levels of treatment. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that: treatment time of NPK Mutiara fertilizer application did not significantly affect plant height and number of leaves. And gave a significant effect on the age of flowering, weight of the cob and the number of rows/seeds. Keywords: NPK Mutiara , growth, production, glutinous corn

Abstract

Soil physical properties are the key determinants of the quality of a land and the environment. This study aims to analyze the physical properties of the soil in mature oil palm stands. The method used is a free grid survey method at the semi-detail survey level (observation density of 1 sample per 100 meters). Oil palm soil samples were taken from 6 oil palm sample trees in the people's garden of Perlabian Village, South Labuhanbatu Village, with an area of 1 hectare. The parameters of the physical properties of the soil tested were bulk density, soil porosity, soil color, and soil moisture content. Data analysis was done by descriptive method. The results showed that the physical properties of the soil in the community garden of Perlabian Village, South Labuhanbatu Village, showed good bulk density, clay and firmness, good soil porosity, relatively dark soil color, and high soil moisture content. Therefore, the physical properties of the soil in the people's garden of Perlabian Village, South Labuhanbatu Village are suitable for oil palm growth.. Keywords: Oil Palm, Properties, Physics, Soil
