Abstract

Finishing action is a finishing technique for crust dyed leather that has been sanded in the surface and finished to form artificial tattoo. Impregnation is a part of a finishing technique that aims to reduce the skin’s absorption ability to liquids, because in general the surface of the skin has high water absorption ability. The raw material for impregnation trial was 5 pieces of crust dyed cowhide with C and R qualities, thickness of 1.2-1.4 mm black. The impregnation material used in 2952 RE (acrylic polymer), melio resin A-716 (polyurethane resin), 8060 EE (penetrator) and aquades. Physical test results of tensile strength before repairing 17.01 N / mm2 after repairing 23.13 N / mm2, elongation of 70.73% after repairing 62.50%, and tear strength of 10.06N after repairing 25.17N. After improvement, there was an increase in the quality of skin quality according to SNI 06-4264-1996.

Abstract

Grasshopper is an icon from Gunungkidul area which is a tourist destination today and has been adapted to batik motifs as well as various beautiful accessories. To introduce grasshoppers to the wider world, shoes are a new medium of introduction that can be used. Leather base material on the upper part gives the impression of luxury in building image of dressing. The robustness of the wood outsole and the uniqueness of engraving on the outsole present a different aesthetic value than the fashion shoes in general. The authors applied the leather and wood products in the form of women's fashion shoes with grasshoppers as design ideas that will give the impression of feminine, luxurious, and unique. In the making of this final work, a derby wedge model of women's fashion shoes was raised as a design idea. Data collection methods were by observing, documenting, distributing questionnaires, interviewing and conducting literature studies related to the material raised. The sampling technique used was non probability sampling by purposive sampling. The process of designing and manufacturing of products that was done in this self- supporting activity consists of: existing product, brainstorming, image board, stylation, user study, design sketch, movement study, idea sketch, and product making. To produce the same product with the design that made the necessary trials many times and takes a long time.

Abstract

Teaching factory is a learning model in vocational education institutions that uses a product (goods/services) as a learning media to delivering competency and organized through collaboration between school and industry. The block system is one of the main elements of the Teaching Factory learning method. Through a block system, the process of learning theory and practice is carried out alternately in sufficient time to fulfill the desired competencies. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the practice block schedule in the learning process to increase the effectiveness of learning at the Leather Processing Technology Department, Polytechnic of ATK Yogyakarta, and to determine the effect of the application of the practice block schedule on improving student competency in the Leather Processing Technology Department, Polytechnic of ATK Yogyakarta. In proving and analyzing this, multiple linear regression analysis was used with the f test and t test. The numbers of samples in this study were 40 students who had graduated. Data collection techniques were by giving questionnaires to students, interviews and documentation. Testing data analysis used validity, reliability, classic assumption tests and linear regression tests. The results of the analysis test can be interpreted that the variable schedule system block practice subjects do not affect general competency. This was because the value of -t count> -t table (-0.004> -2.024) or significance> 0.05 (0.997> 0.05) so that Ho was accepted. To improve the competency of students or graduates there were several variables that can influence other than the block schedule there was still an adequate curriculum and infrastructure. However, the practice block system was able to increase the effectiveness of learning in the Leather Processing Technology Department, Polytechnic of ATK Yogyakarta in accordance with the answers of respondents. Respondents stated that they are very appropriate (15-25%), appropriate (40-60%) and quite appropriate (5-25%).

Abstract

One of the things that affects production process is the layout of the facility. This research aims to observe the influence of facility layout on material transfer efficiency. Efficiency is associated to time saving, effort and cost. Observations were conducted in PT. Adi Satria Abadi, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The material studied is the measurement of facility layout for material transfer efficiency. This research uses observation and documention methods to gain the data; meanwhile experiment and time counting on material transfer were done to solve the problem in order to improve layout efficiency. The layout of production facilities, which is based on the process at PT. Adi Satria Abadi, raises a waste of time and needs to increase efficiency in the material transfer process. Proposed improvements to the layout of facilities are carried out by changing the layout of facilities according to the order of the production process (layout based on products) to expedite the production process. The layout of facilities based on products is more efficient for PT. Adi Satria Abadi with the calculation of efficiency after improvement reached 93%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study depletion on goat skin in the deliming process. The experiment was conducted using (NH4)2SO4 (ammonium sulfate) as deliming agent and using a jar test tool. Tests performed on pelt and liquid characters during the deliming process; pelt weight, pelt thickness, pH and contain nitrogen and sulfide of deliming liquid. Variations made of use (NH4)2SO4 is; 0, ½, 1.0, 1½, 2 and 2½ gr for 50gr of pelt. The results showed that the use of 1 gr (NH4)2SO4 decreases the pH of the liquid deliming pelt Ca(OH)2 from 11.0 to 8.9. Changes in the weight and thickness of pelt Ca(OH)2 in the use of 1gr (NH4)2SO4 are; 11% and 53% respectively. The use of 1gr (NH4)2SO4 and will produce the fastest rate in weight and thickness of pelt Ca(OH)2, namely each; 0.008% weight / minute and 0.02% thick / minute. In addition to 1gr (NH4)2SO4, the deliming liquid of pelt Ca (OH)2 has a final pH of 8.9 and from pelt NaOH has a final pH of 9.12. Pelt Ca(OH)2 on the use of 1gr (NH4)2SO4 has 13% compression and pelt NaOH on the use of 1.5gr (NH4) 2SO4 has compression 8.8%. The greater use of (NH4)2SO4 will produce fluid deliming with character greater nitrogen and sufide levels, except the lower sulfide levels for pelt Ca (OH)2 sulfide.
