Abstract

The results of research by Anisa, R in 2022 on cleaning staff in the city of Banjarbaru showed that dental and oral health knowledge was still in the poor category, 71% and dental and oral hygiene was 60%, still in the poor category. This is because the janitor has never received education about dental and oral health. The results of the DMF-T examination of the cleaning officers showed that the average DMF-T was 5.8, meaning that each cleaning officer experienced caries in 5-6 teeth ranging from shallow to deep caries, fissures in 15 teeth in the permanent first and second molars. The aim of this Community Service is to increase knowledge, take preventive measures and carry out simple dental care. The method used is to provide education through counseling, dental examinations and dental care. The target of community service is 93 Banjarbaru city cleaning officers. The methods used are counseling, mass tooth brushing, scaling, fissure sealant, and filling. The time period was 2 (two) months, namely September-October 2023. Achievements and Conclusions After implementing Community Service, the target of good knowledge increased to 60%, Dental and Oral Hygiene became good 58.1%, Internal fissures became 1 tooth, Dental caries 97 teeth down to 49 teeth.

Abstract

Initial knowledge about the community's dental and oral health was on average 55.60 (medium) after counseling increased quite significantly to an average knowledge of 66.63 (high) (Syahputri et al., n.d.). When examining the caries experience (DMF-T) of 116 students, it was found that the average DMF-T number was 2.32 (in the medium category). After treatment was carried out, the caries number could be reduced to 0.77 (low category), achieving the DMF-T reduction rate. T can be maximized because all students are cooperative so that cavities can be filled/simple procedures can be done. Business Activities to reduce the number of cavities/caries from 180 cases to 0 cases of which 180 cases can be carried out with simple fillings (100%). Meanwhile, the Performance Treatment Index (PTI) in this activity increased quite significantly, from 0% to 100%, this was because the students were cooperative and understood how to maintain good and correct dental health. Abstract

Caries is a disease that is still a major problem in the field of dental health in the world, including in Indonesia. Various efforts must continue to be made to reduce the incidence of caries, both promotive and preventive, as well as curative and rehabilitative. The DMF-T index in Banjar Regency is 7.8 with D-T=1.62, M-T=5.88, and F-T=0.34 and is one of the districts that has a DMF-T value above the index for South Kalimantan province. The results of the 2016 Banjar District Health Service survey stated that the highest number of permanent tooth fillings and extractions was in Martapura District with a total of 1148 permanent tooth fillings and 895 permanent tooth extractions. Community service aims to increase knowledge of dental and oral health and brushing skills, increase PTI rates and reduce dental caries rates in the community in Pekauman village, Banjar Regency, East Martapura District on the Martapura River. The method used is analytical observational with a cross sectional approach. The community service population is the people of Pekauman Village, Banjar Regency, East Martapura District on the the Martapura River. As a result of community service, there was an increase in knowledge about dental health from an average of 52.40 high criteria to very high 83.27. The achievement of reducing the number of dental caries by 27.43% and increasing the Performance Treatment Index (PTI) number was achieved from 3.6% to 23%. Abstract

Malaria remains a problem in Indonesia and in the world with morbidity and mortality rates quite high, caused by Anopheles mosquitoes which carry the Plasmodium sp parasite. Malaria has an impact on reducing hemoglobin levels in the blood which causes anemia. Forest workers are vulnerable to malaria and anemia. Lack of knowledge can be a factor in increasing the incidence of malaria and anemia. This community service activity aims to increase knowledge about malaria, improve malaria prevention attitudes and behavior, detect malaria and anemia in workers by laboratory examination. Implementation methods include counseling, questionnaires, observations, and laboratory examinations for malaria detection by Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) and Microscopic technique, Determine hemoglobin (Hb) levels using Point of Care Testing (POCT) method as an indicator of anemia in blood specimens of 50 forest workers in Aranio District. The results of this activity increased the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of respondents regarding malaria prevention to 100%, malaria laboratory examinations both RDT and microscopic results were 100% negative. The Hb levels obtained ranged from 8.4 gr/dl to 15.2 g/dl which 35 respondents (70%) were normal and 15 respondents (30%) were below normal or anemia. Another outcome was the formation of the community group “Kelaan Block and Prevent Malaria Transmission“. It is recommended for further community service to continue with other programs based on the Healthy Village concept to prevent and maintain malaria elimination status in the Aranio area that supports the realization of health transformation in Indonesia.
