Buletin Pengabdian: Bulletin of Community Services (Bull. Community. Serv.) is a scientific journal that publishes articles on research related to community engagement practices and processes, carried out by academia, government, private sector and industry. These manuscripts can originate from community service activities ("PENGMAS"), the student study service (Kuliah Kerja Nyata or KKN), technical guidance, models or concepts and or other implementations in order to increase community participation in development and community empowerment. Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to adapt the Hohenheim Aceh tunnel dryer technology for solar energy, to help Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) produce Pliek U in Aceh Besar District to increase productivity and quality of Pliek U produced. This community service was conducted in several steps including a survey, focus group discussion with targeted people, designing the dryer, constructing the dryer, training the producers, and dissemination. Results of this program are constructing 3 unit type Hohenheim Aceh solar tunnel dryers for 3 producers, management entrepreneurship training, improvement of packaging and application of digital management, and marketing of the product by using the Qasir’s application. In conclusion, the performance of this dryer is very good, namely, it can speed up the drying process while increasing the quality of the Pliek U produced.

Abstract

The purpose of this service activity was the implementation of socialization and training on environmental modification and feed management to overcome heat stress in goat cattle at the dairy goat farm of the Lamlumpu Village Community, Peukan Bada Sub-District, Aceh Besar District. The method of implementing this activity are in the form of socialization, counseling, and training on a scheduled basis with material on dairy goat farming patterns in the tropics, modifying the environment to create a microclimate condition that is in accordance with the comfort zone for dairy cattle, and introduction of feed ingredients that have the potential to overcome heat stress. in the livestock. The results of this community service activity indicate that the implementation of environmental and feed modifications to overcome heat stress in goat cattle shows an increase in livestock production in the form of increased milk production, more comfortable environmental conditions, and a decrease in heat stress threshold in the livestock. In conclusion, environmental and feed modifications for dairy goats in Lamplumpu Village can improve microclimate conditions so that they are more comfortable and can cope with heat stress.

Abstract

The aim of this community service activity was to increase the knowledge of health workers and mothers at the integrated healthcare centers (Posyandu) how to make biscuits from banana flour, red bean flour, and green bean flour as a supplementary nutritional product of malnourished toddlers in Syiah Kuala Sub-district. The methods were survey, socialization, and practicing of making biscuits from Awak banana flour, red bean flour, and mung bean flour involving mothers of the toddlers, heads of health centers, and Posyandu cadres. Based on the observation during the programs, the participants were very disciplined and enthusiastic in participating in all activities. Also, the participants were capable of making the biscuits product. Based on the proximate analysis conducted at the Laboratory of Baristand (Research and Standardization Center) in Banda Aceh, every 100 grams of the biscuit contains the nutritional content of carbohydrates 29.98%, protein 6.57%, fat 37.28%, water content 0.58%, ash content 1.72%, and calories 328.17 kcal. It can be concluded that 100 grams of biscuit can supply the nutritional needs of malnourished toddlers as much as 328.17 kcal from the dietary needs of 1.620 kcal per day.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to provide education on waste management to the students of the Quranic Recitation Hall Babussalam, Limpok Village. This community service activity was attended by 20 students, consisting of groups of primary and junior high schools, divided into two stages, namely: making the rubbish bin and counseling on waste management at the Quranic Recitation Hall Babussalam. The counseling and socialization were carried out by direct introduction to students and by providing waste collection facilities according to the types of waste. The results of this community service activity can be declared successful as seen from their seriousness in listening to the presentation of the material, responding spontaneously, and discussing seriously during the activity. They can understand the benefits of solid waste management and are proven to be able to mention the negative and positive effects of waste. Garbage can be an income if it is sorted out and a disaster if it is disposed of in any place according to them and an agent of change, especially in the environment where they live and the Limpok Village community in general. In conclusion, all participants had a good understanding of the introduction to waste processing methods, types of organic and inorganic waste, and residues which were marked by the ability of each participant to answer questions given by the service team.

Abstract

The implementation of this service aims to introduce an ultraviolet (UV) drying chamber, drying techniques/manufacture of pumpkin flour, and glutinous rice flour to reduce the dependence of women members in family welfare empowerment group (Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga/PKK) and women members in Integrated Service Post (Pos Pelayanan Terpadu/Posyandu) in Ujong XII Village on the use of flour in the market and replace it with processed flour. The approach method offered in this Product-Based Community Service activity is counseling and training on the manufacture of pumpkin flour and glutinous rice using a UV innovation greenhouse effect dryer. The results achieved in this service are the capacity of the drying house ±30 kg with an average drying temperature of 55 °C. The community has the skills and practice of processing and drying timphan flour in the form of pumpkin flour and glutinous rice flour. In conclusion, the application of a UV dryer house can facilitate the drying of raw materials for making timphan.
