Abstract

This study aims to look at the herding behavior of shares of companies included in the JII (Jakarta Islamic Index). Observation period: January 5, 2009, to June 16, 2023, then divided into 3, namely the period before Covid-19, during Covid-19, and before - during Covid-19. Estimation of herding behavior using the Cross-Sectional Absolute Deviation (CSAD) model. The difference between this research and other studies is the model used. This study uses the Chang, Cheng & Khorana (2000) model which is modified by addingARCH - GARCH, to reveal the asymmetry effect. This study did not find herding behavior and the absence of the influence of Covid-19 on the movement of JII stocks, both before and during Covid-19. Theseresultsalso showthat investorshave rationalbehavior in making investmentdecisions. Investors on Jakarta Islamic Index stocks classified as Sharia principles are well educated. They have sufficient knowledge in managing information for decision-making, so they do not follow market consensus and make investment decisions based on available information. In addition, this study was able to reveal that the effect of positive shocks is greater when compared to negative shocks.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyse the relationship between the Human Development Index (HDI), population, and growth rate in Bengkulu province districts and cities over the period of 2013-2022. This study employs quantitative approaches to data collection. Bengkulu province was represented in this study with a sample that includes ten of its districts and cities. Secondary data collected by the British Statistics Service (BPS) were used for this study's research. A panel data regression model served as the basis for the study methodology used to analyse the collected data. In light of this investigation, FEM was determined to be the most suitable model. The ratio of 95% implies that the independent variables HDI, population, and economic growth have the potential to explain poverty factors in districts and cities in Bengkulu province with a ratio of 95% while the remaining 5% is explained by other variables. The r-squared value is 0.959038, which translates to 95%. excluded from the scope of this study model. According to the findings of the study, the HDI coefficient is -0.225, the probability value is 0.0740, which indicates that it has neither a positive nor a significant influence on poverty, and the population coefficient value is -6.730, with a probability value of 0.0001. economic growth has a coefficient of 0.045 with a probability value of 0.05175, suggesting it has no significant impact on poverty in the districts or cities of Bengkulu province in 2013-2022. this indicates that it has a negative and significant affect.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of fiscal decentralization on local economic capacity and the welfare of the people of Bengkulu over the past two decades. Bengkulu was chosen as a case study because it has the second highest poverty rate in Sumatra Island. The study uses time series data obtained from various secondary sources, such as the human development index, poverty reports, DAU, and provincial economic development reports. This study uses a partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS 3 software to analyze the data. This study has three main variables: community welfare (Y), economic capacity (M), and fiscal decentralization (X). The results of this study show that fiscal decentralization has an indirect effect on community welfare but a direct effect through economic capacity.
