Abstract

-Forest fires pose a significant threat to ecosystems, the environment, and human life. Early detection of forest fires is crucial for effective firefighting efforts. In this research, we propose the utilization of image processing for forest fire detection with the aim of improving rapid and accurate response in fire monitoring. Image processing methods are employed to analyze visual information obtained from satellite imagery, drones, or other sensors. The process involves image segmentation, classification, and texture analysis to identify the burned areas. Fire point detection algorithms are implemented to monitor and predict fire propagation. Through image processing, we achieved faster and more accurate forest fire detection. The information gathered from the images can be used to report real-time fire development and facilitate effective firefighting strategies. The adoption of this technology offers advantages in reducing environmental damage, economic losses, and risks to human life.

Abstract

Roads are transportation infrastructure whose needs in Indonesia continue to increase, along with the increasing number of vehicles. Road construction is a construction that receives traffic loads, therefore it is expected that a road pavement layer must have a strong pavement construction and be able to receive loads from traffic users. AC-WC (Black-top Concrete - Wearing Course) asphalt layer is a road pavement construction consisting of asphalt composition, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate and filler. Fillers in asphalt mixtures function to increase the binding power of AC-WC asphalt, so as to improve mixture stability and fillers can fill the voids between aggregate particles, filler commonly used is stone ash. This research will be conducted with the addition of broiler eggshell filler and porland cement in the Asphalt Concrete wearing Course (AC-WC) mixture. The research was conducted with an experimental method conducted in the Civil Engineering laboratory of Abdurrab University. The specification used in this study is Public Road Revision 2 Year 2018, The optimum asphalt content (KAO) used was 6.5%. Based on the results of the study, the largest marshall stability and melting value is found in the 100% cement filler variation, which is 1772.7 Kg and the value of flow value (melting) 3.77 mm while the largest marshall quotient (MQ) value is found in the 25% eggshell filler variation, 75% cement, which is 529.2 Kg/mm.

Abstract

Being an athlete with a disability is not easy because as we know from some people with disabilities still get unfair treatment. The Paralympic Committee, which is the parent sports organization for people with disabilities in Indonesia, fosters all sports activities for the achievements of people with disabilities. The purpose of this study was to determine the communication experience of blind athletes in chess at the Riau National Paralympic Committee. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The researcher uses Alfred Schutz's phenomenological theory with indicators of causal motives, goal motives, meanings and communication experiences. The results of this study show that the formation of self-meaning of blind athletes through the learning process, the efforts they make to be able to motivate themselves to a higher level, their confidence to remain outstanding chess athletes.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a neurological disorder and a serious type of mental illness that affects the patient's perception, thinking, language, emotions, and social behavior. Communicating with individuals suffering from schizophrenia requires special techniques because they tend to experience self-concept issues, immerse themselves in their own world, and exhibit physical well-being but mental unhealthiness. Effective communication with schizophrenia patients necessitates skilled nursing techniques and the ability to communicate effectively. From the perspective of communication science, the relationship between the nurse and the patient falls under interpersonal communication, or from the standpoint of health communication, it is therapeutic communication. The communication between the nurse and the patient creates interpersonal interaction using linguistic symbol systems, such as verbal and nonverbal systems. This study aims to describe and analyze interpersonal communication between nurses and Schizophrenia patients at Rumah Sakit Jiwa in the Riau Province. The research utilizes a case study method. The results show that the interpersonal communication used by nurses with schizophrenia patients at Tampan Mental Hospital in the Riau Province involves empathy, positive attention, and sincere acceptance demonstrated through both verbal and nonverbal forms. This fosters trust and openness in patients towards nurses, ultimately contributing to the improvement of schizophrenia patients' healing process.
