Abstract

Abstract This article examines the leadership of women in Islam from the perspective of Muhammadiyah. The theme has always generated both support and opposition among the Muslim community. The central point of debate regarding women's leadership in Islam revolves around a hadith narrated by Abu Bakrah, stating that a community will not prosper if led by a woman. The result of this research is that Muhammadiyah has decided that women are allowed to become leaders, starting from school principals, directors, or even presidents. They believe there is no explicit text that clearly prohibits women from being leaders. Regarding the hadith, Muhammadiyah interprets it contextually based on historical analysis. At that time, women held a very weak position in society, casting doubts on their ability to lead a community institution. Additionally, they did not receive adequate education, resulting in limited experience and knowledge. Therefore, in the present era, if a woman has the capacity to be a leader, it is considered permissible. Keywords: Women’s Leadership, Muhammadiyah, Fatwa

Abstract

The breeze of presidential elections has long been heard in Indonesian society, a year when political contests began to be heard everywhere. This is further compounded by the emergence of various forms of campaigns to seek support from the people. Departing from this, this writing explains the ideal concept of leadership in the current era from the perspective of Tafsir Al-Azhar. Because the impressions and views of this interpretation are highly suitable for the reality in which the Qur’an is interpreted. Regardless, we must understand the concept of leadership in the contemporary era, especially with the emergence of three major candidates for leadership in Indonesia. This article uses a descriptive analysis method that is expected to explain the concept of leadership in a profound, detailed, and ideal manner. The research results indicate that Tafsir al-Azhar provides a significant portion regarding leaders worthy of being chosen in the upcoming elections. The intended leader is one who fulfills his duties by promoting prosperity and well-being. This means how the leader carries out his tasks effectively based on the 1945 Constitution and Pancasila. Thus, a leader like this should be obeyed and followed. On the other hand, if the leader encourages the people to commit injustice and corruption, then they are not worthy of obedience, following, and compliance.

Abstract

The era continues to move dynamically, whether towards positive change or the opposite, making transformation inevitable. In this process, numerous political processes occur, especially in the transformation of Islamic law within the current national family law as manifested in Marriage Law Number 1 of 1974 and other legislations. It needs to be comprehensively understood regarding the transformation process from classical/conventional Islamic law to the emergence of ijtihad (ijma'), giving birth to the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI). There is a contradiction between idealism and the reality that occurs in the transformation of Islamic law. This research addresses essential questions about how the political process occurs in the transformation to legislation. The method used in this study is literature review with primary sources being books or articles related to Islamic law, political aspects of Islamic family law, transformation and reform of Islamic law, contemporary family law, and other relevant sources as secondary sources. The results of this research prove that there are crucial points in the transformation of Islamic law into national family law related to marriage, divorce, inheritance, and endowment, which still require further integration to review the realities that occur in the field.

Abstract

Every country has an equal right to conduct space exploration, both in the development of science and technology and in the utilization of space resources for the survival needs on Earth. Space is the most challenging region to reach as it requires significant time and costs for exploration. This research aims to assist in the regulation of the 1967 Outer Space Treaty regarding the United States’ efforts to explore and privatize planets and moons. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method based on applicable international laws and treaty articles. The findings indicate that the United States has launched policies supporting the development of private space industries, yet there are legal considerations to be addressed, including the Outer Space Treaty, applicable in the context of privatizing planets and moons. The efforts made by the United States in privatizing planets and moons, in line with the 1967 Outer Space Treaty, raise various legal, ethical, and policy questions. The treaty defines international laws governing the use of outer space, including planets and moons.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the pattern of multicultural communication within a youth organization, namely the National Committee of Indonesian Youth (KNPI) in Gowa Regency. It is divided into two sub-problems: first, how the inter-agency relations become a pattern of multicultural communication within the youth organization KNPI Gowa Regency, and second, the consequences of multicultural communication for unity among youth organizations within KNPI Gowa Regency. This qualitative descriptive research employs a communication and phenomenology approach. Data sources are obtained directly from the Chairman, General Secretary, General Treasurer, and Youth Social Organizations (OKP) including Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (HMI), Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII), Indonesian National Student Movement (GMNI), Catholic Student Association of Indonesia (PMKRI), Catholic Youth, and Chinese Youth. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. Data processing and analysis involve three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research indicate that 1) Inter-agency relations form a multicultural communication pattern in the youth organization KNPI Gowa Regency, namely assimilation between communities (total communication pattern), collaborative (circular communication pattern), and dialogical communication pattern. 2) The consequences of multicultural communication for unity among youth organizations within KNPI Gowa include the creation of tolerance, meaning that the community or members of KNPI Gowa Regency always uphold an attitude of respecting and honoring differences. Additionally, the formation of solidarity among members, helping each other in different conditions to uphold togetherness.
