Abstract

Providing education about the importance of financial literacy to students aims to ensure that students are able to manage their money intelligently, such as saving. All financial literacy service activities are adjusted to the type of educational media using methods adapted to several activity stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage of service activities carried out at the Kuala Lumpur Indonesian School. Activities carried out include providing education to students on the priority scale of needs, how to save and asking several questions to determine students' understanding and the evaluation stage of activities.

Abstract

Education is one thing that is very beneficial for every human being. This education can make people become quality individuals who can increase their honor and dignity. Sentul Tutoring Studio is one of several learning studios established in Peninsular Malaysia to provide education to children living around the Sentul area, Kuala Lumpur. Students at Sentul Guidance Studio are undocumented/non-documented children of Indonesian migrant workers. This service aims to provide achievement motivation among the students of Sanggar Guidance Sentul Malaysia. The method used is a participatory method, where this method is carried out in the process of problem solving or decision making which actively involves all parties involved in the process. This service activity involved 35 students from the Sentul Malaysia Guidance Studio. The conclusion of this service is that students can develop achievement motivation and self-confidence in what they want, where in this service the focus is on the ideals that students have.

Abstract

Penyengat Island is an island that has historical and religious tourism destinations. Penyengat Island is an island surrounded by sea and has quite a large population. Ecotourism is part of tourist attractions that utilize the potential of local natural resources, and are developed with environmentally friendly innovation and technology. This activity aims to provide benefits that can be felt directly and indirectly. The stages carried out in tree planting activities consist of socializing the need for a greening movement, preparing tree planting locations and carrying out mangrove seedling planting activities. With tree planting activities, many benefits can be obtained, such as a greener environment, keeping the air clean, protecting the coast from erosion and strong wave attacks, helping to reduce the risk of flooding in coastal areas and planting mangrove trees can prevent abrasion.

Abstract

Culture is one of the national identities that must be preserved and is a characteristic of a country that differentiates it from other countries. One of the cultures in Indonesia is Malay culture. Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) will visit Tanjungpinang, Indonesia with the agenda of carrying out Community Service on Penyengat Island which will be accompanied by lecturers and students from STIE Pembangunan Tanjungpinang. The aim of implementing Community Service is to introduce Malay culture to foreign students, especially Malay culture on Penyengat Island. This activity is carried out in the form of direct outreach. The results obtained from this Community Service activity were introducing Malay culture to overseas students with a series of activities involving lecturers, students and the residents of Penyengat Island.

Abstract

Riau Islands is one of the provinces in Indonesia and has various cultures in it but the most striking is Malay culture and is located on one of the islands, namely Penyengat Island. In addition to having various kinds of Malay cultural historical relics, it also has schools that support children's education on Penyengat Island. One of the schools on Penyengat Island and the object of activity is SMP Negeri 9 Pulau Penyengat. This article will describe the concepts and practices of service learning conducted by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) students and students of KKN Luar Negeri STIE Pembangunan Tanjungpinang at SMP Negeri 9 Pulau Penyengat. This learning service aims to provide knowledge about several learnings such as verbal and non-verbal communication, teamwork, and leadership packaged in games involving students of SMP Negeri 9 Pulau Penyengat. This activity was carried out directly at SMP Negeri 9 Pulau Penyengat. The result of this activity is that students of SMP Negeri 9 Pulau Penyengat understand about verbal communication, non-verbal communication, teamwork and leadership.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has various kinds of customs, tribes and cultures. Many Indonesian citizens work in Malaysia to improve its economy. However, many Indonesian migrant workers have problems in Malaysia, such as being treated inappropriately. The service activities carried out by STIE Pembangunan Tanjungpinang students were 14 students and 2 accompanying lecturers. Service activities were carried out at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI)- Johor Bahru, Malaysia on October 29th, 2023. The method used was participatory. The Indonesian Consulate General is a government agency to protect Indonesian citizens abroad, one of which is the Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Many Indonesian migrant workers become victims of human trafficking. There are also many Indonesian migrant workers who enter Malaysia without complete administrative evidence and without correct procedures or not in accordance with the recommendations of the law.

Abstract

Giant Bee Gallery is one of the galleries that can be visited by tourists in Malacca, Malaysia. Giant Bee was founded in 1978 by Mr Ong Kang Peng. The aim of establishing the Giant Bee Gallery is that apart from selling various types of honey, the Giant Bee Gallery also aims to spread knowledge to visitors about bees and their habitat. This service activity was carried out on October 31 2023 and was attended by a service team of 14 students along with 2 accompanying lecturers. The method of implementing this service activity is carried out through several stages, namely initial and preparatory activities, implementation of activities, and evaluation of activities. The result of this service activity is that the service team was able to learn a lot about bees and beekeeping and buy several delicious and healthy honey products. The types of honey in Giant Bee consist of royal jelly, propolis, bee venom honey, pupa, pollen, bee's wax, trigona honey, super honey, apple vinegar honey. Each of the 9 honeys has its own benefits.

Abstract

This article is the result of community service activities. The focus of this activity is an effort to bridge the learning of Malay Arabic script / jawi / khat at Tijarah Pintar Gallery, Johor Bahru - Malaysia. This model is one of the experiential learning that provides learning experiences in the form of providing services to the community. The hallmark of this model is the learning process that is integrated with field experience and the existence of a reflection process. The method used in this activity is a participatory method by involving partner students to formulate and analyze their writings and campus needs in accordance with the course. The results of the service show that service learning in learning Malay / Jawi / Kha Arabic writing has an impact on mastering better knowledge. This is due to the experience of direct observation at Tijarah Pintar Gallery, Johor Bahru - Malaysia related to the phenomenon that is the focus of the theory. In addition, critical and analytical thinking skills are also more trained through the process of reflection. Another thing that is also well developed, is a caring attitude and sensitivity to problems on campus.

Abstract

Education is a journey filled with uniqueness and complexity, where each student has a unique background. Students' backgrounds include a number of factors that can shape their mindset, values, and abilities in facing educational challenges. Sanggar Belajar Sentul or Sentul Community Learning Center is a formal educational institution under the auspices of the Kuala Lumpur Indonesian School. At the Sentul learning studio, various problems were found, including students' background issues, this was because some of them were children of migrant workers who received little educational attention in their family environment. This service aims to provide knowledge regarding the prevention of bullying among students at Sanggar Guidance Sentul Malaysia. The method used is a participatory method, where this method is carried out in the process of problem solving or decision making which actively involves all parties involved in the process. This service activity involved 35 students from the Sentul Malaysia Guidance Studio. The conclusion of this service is that it can provide benefits and knowledge to them about bullying, and instill in their souls that preventing bullying from an early age will make them better.

Abstract

The Financial Services Authority (OJK), in collaboration with the ministries and Financial Services Institutions, continues to synergize efforts in the "Let's Save" campaign. This initiative is part of the government's commitment to enhance financial literacy among the public and foster a savings culture from an early age. Therefore, financial literacy education is deemed necessary at the early childhood education level, both domestically and internationally. As part of this educational outreach, financial literacy education was provided to students at one of the learning centers, namely sanggar belajar (SB) At Tanzil Ampang Malaysia, under the coordination of the Indonesian School Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The objective of this activity is to increase awareness and understanding among children regarding the significance of early savings, instill good financial habits, and enable them to identify and distinguish between wants and needs. The methodology employed involves lectures on the importance of early savings and interactive question-and-answer sessions. The participants exhibited great enthusiasm throughout the program. This Community Service Program yields benefits for the students, as possessing knowledge of sound financial literacy is expected to encourage a desire for savings intensely within their minds and reflect in their daily behaviour.
