Abstract

Indonesia has a slow rate of economic growth, which is accompanied by a high level of regional inequality. In Indonesia, on the other hand, the tax ratio has decreased from year to year. As a result, more research is needed to determine how taxes affect economic growth and regional equity in Indonesia. This study employs two equation models that are processed using the multiple linear regression method on panel data from 34 Indonesian provinces at the years 2016, 2019, and 2021. The findings of this study show that there is a convergence condition in Indonesia, and the existence of taxes as a government role can accelerate the convergence rate by 0.78%, or up to 27 years. This proves that the tax function as a distribution function has been effective, and convergence is expected to form equity or reduce inequality in Indonesia. Taxation, on the other hand, has been shown to have a positive and significant impact on economic growth. This reveals that the tax function has worked effectively as an allocation function, with taxes being allocated for public expenditures that support productivity.

Humans are social creatures so each individual will always interact with one another in meeting their needs. This interaction has a socio-economic impact on other communities. Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri which is located in Mantingan also interacts with the community which has an impact on its surroundings. Therefore, this research wants to find out how to realize the social economy of Islamic boarding schools to the community's economy. The method used in this research is the case study method. The results of the study found that Islamic boarding schools also had an impact on the socio-economic community. The economic impact arising from the interaction between the community and the cottage is to create jobs and generate a desire to open businesses such as lodging, stalls, and laundries to meet the needs of migrants related to the cottage. Apart from that, the social relationship between Pondok and pesantren has more impact on education and the religious community with the dedication carried out by ustadz and ustadzah Gontor at the TPA and MI which were founded by Pondok Gontor. The relationship between Pondok Gontor and the community has also experienced several problems regarding Pondok's land being used by the community. Abstract

Poverty is a problem where no country or region can be free from the threat of poverty. Likewise with Indonesia, of the 34 provinces in which East Java Province is an area that has the largest number of poor people compared to other provinces. Based on the principles of regional autonomy and Keynesian theory, the government's efforts to reduce the number of poor people can be through allocating education expenditures and health expenditures. In this regard, there are several other factors that can affect the level of poverty, including per capita income, population growth and unemployment. Therefore, these five variables will be tested to determine their effect on the number of poor people in East Java. Using the multiple linear regression analysis method with panel data, data will be taken from 38 regencies/cities in East Java Province in 2010-2020. Where this study shows that education expenditures, health expenditures, per capita income, and population growth on the number of poor people have a significant influence. While unemployment has no significant effect on the number of poor people. Thus, the local government can make a series of policies that can overcome the problem of high poverty rates in East Java through these 4 significant variables.

Abstract

The number of Indonesian workers has increased every year and the lack of job opportunities has become a major obstacle to the development of the employment sector in Indonesia. Opportunities to get a job are decreasing, causing unemployment. Using the robust regression analysis method, this research tries to look at the factors that influence the length of time it takes to get a job in Indonesia. The data used comes from the 2019 National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS). The results show that the level of education, effort to find work, and the UMP level have a significant positive effect on the length of time to find a job in Indonesia. Meanwhile, age and job training have a significant negative effect on the length of time to get a job in Indonesia. Therefore, the government and related parties can consider these factors in making decisions, especially to overcome and deal with employment issues regarding unemployment regarding the length of time to get a job or the duration of unemployment.

Abstract

One type of potential tax is income tax. Indonesia has many MSMEs and contributes to 61.97% of national GDP. However, the contribution of MSMEs to the tax sector is not comparable to the tax revenue. The lack of awareness among MSME taxpayers is one of factors for the low level of tax compliance, which has a domino effect on the amount of tax revenue. The Government’s regulation as a response to the problem is through the implementation of PP 23/2018. The Government reduced tax rate from 1% to 0.5% would to make it easier for MSMEs and increase tax compliance. The domino effect will strengthen the role of MSMEs as a biggest source for the Indonesian economy, including increasing tax revenue. The research was conducted in Tangerang City to describe how far the effect of changes in PPh rates has on MSME taxpayer compliance and tax revenue in a city with the title of “Kota Seribu Industri”. The method used is quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study that the reduction in tariffs increases the number of taxpayers, which also has implications for increasing tax compliance. But on the contrary, the realization of tax revenue actually decreased.

Abstract

Economic inequality in East Java Province is always above the national inequality every year. This is driven by the concentration of economic growth (growth pole) in urban areas that have greater economic activity. East Java Province excels in the industrial sector, this can be seen in the GRDP where Industry has the first position investment then in the second position the Transportation, Warehousing, and Communication sector. This is interesting because the transportation sector should be means to facilitate the mobilization of all sectors in East Java. However, the outcome of the relationship between the transportation sector and economic inequality-accessibility between regions has not been widely studied. The existence of socio-economic, endownment, government policies differences in each region have impacts on differences in welfare levels between regions. This type of research is quantitative. This study aims to test and analyze what factors affect economic inequality in East Java Province. This study uses secondary data, this study has a sample of 11 districts and 3 cities located in East Java Province. This study uses the Common Effect Model (CEM) test as the selected research model. The results of this study are the independent variable X (economic growth, Road Length, Road Stability, Ports, Passenger, Electrification Ratio, Labor, and Human Development Index) affect the dependent variable Y (inequality) simultaneously by 74,8% of the R-squared value.
