Abstract

Introduction: The Household Health Survey (SKRT), mortality studies, and basic health research from year to year found that diarrhea is still the main cause of under-five mortality in Indonesia. The main cause of death due to diarrhea is improper management both at home and in health facilities. To reduce deaths due to diarrhea, fast and appropriate management is needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of diarrhea in children aged 1-2 years in the inpatient solar room at Leuwiliang Hospital in 2021. Methods: This study used a quantitative research design with the cross-sectional method, while the sample in this study was 60 patients with toddlers aged 1-2 years, who experienced diarrhea in the period August 2021. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. The statistical test used was the chi-square test using SPSS version 18 software. Results: The results of this study showed a relationship between the incidence of diarrhea and with measles immunization factor with an OR value of 15,333 and there was a relationship with complementary feeding with an OR value of 33,333. The relationship with family income also obtained an OR value of 3,365 with a P-value of 0,027. Discussion: The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the measles vaccination, the appropriateness of complementary feeding, and family income to the incidence of diarrhea in children aged 1-2 years in the Matahari room at the Leuwiliang Hospital in 2021. Of the 60 children who did not have recurrent diarrhea, most of them did not get measles immunization (38,3%), did not get complimentary feeding that was not appropriate (41,7%), and came from a family with insufficient income (23,3%).

Abstract

Introduction: Anxiety faced by patients when going to surgery includes fear of pain, fear of physical changes, and fear that the operation will fail and this anxiety can cause delaying or canceling the operation. Anxiety is an emotional response to an assessment that describes a state of worry, anxiety, fear, and restlessness accompanied by various life situations as a disease disorder. In the management of nursing care in preoperative patients who experience anxiety, nursing interventions are needed, one of which is caring. Caring is a behavior or action taken to provide a sense of physical and emotional security to others sincerely. The purpose of caring behavior is to provide physical care by paying attention to emotions while increasing a sense of security by showing concern, feelings of empathy, and love. The nurse's caring attitude towards the client in providing nursing care by caring for the client with sincerity, sincerity, and full of love, both through communication, providing support, and direct action Purpose: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of nurse caring (maintaining belief) given to preoperative appendectomy patients and its effect on reducing anxiety Methods: The research used was quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental) using two groups of subjects with a control group (Nonequivalent Control Group Design). Measurements were carried out before and after treatment. Using a non-randomized pretest and posttest group design approach. The total population was 52 patients and the entire population was sampled (total sampling) and divided into 2 groups of 26 patients each Results: In the group of caring nurses (maintaining belief) there was a decrease in anxiety in patients pre-operative appendectomy from heavy to moderate and from moderate to mild. From the results of the Wilcoxon test that on average there is a difference with a p-value (0,000 <0,05). While in the control group there was a slight decrease in anxiety in appendicectomy pre-operative patients from severe to moderate. From the results of the Wilcoxon test that the average is different from the p-value (0,317 <0,05). Discussion: There is a difference in the average decrease in the anxiety of appendectomy pre-operative patients, both in respondents who do care nurses (maintaining belief) and those who do not, by doing caring nurses (maintaining belief) managed to reduce the anxiety felt by pre-operative appendectomy patients.

Abstract

Introduction: Elderly is a process experienced by humans from the beginning and naturally proceeds which indicates humans have passed through three stages, namely, children, adults, and the elderly. According to the American Society of Hypertension (ASH) hypertension is a progressive collection of cardiovascular symptoms as a result of other complex and interrelated conditions. Ambon bananas contain a lot of fiber so that potassium, magnesium, and calcium contained in Ambon bananas can be well absorbed by the body so that they can lower blood pressure. Kiwi fruit is a fruit that contains vitamin C and potassium to maintain blood pressure conditions and heart health.  Methods: This type of research uses a quasi-experimental research design using a two group’s pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used is random sampling. The sample in this study amounted to 30 elderly respondents with hypertension.  Results: Univariate results showed that in the ambon banana juice group before the intervention, 2 people (13.3%) had mild blood pressure, 13 people (86.7%) had moderate blood pressure, after the intervention, 1 person (6.7%) had normal blood pressure, 13 people (86.7%) had mild blood pressure, 1 person (6.7%) had moderate blood pressure. In the kiwi juice group before the intervention, 15 people (100%) had moderate hypertension, after the intervention 8 people (53.3%) had mild hypertension, and 7 people (46.7%) had mild blood pressure. The results of the Wilcoxon bivariate test in the ambon banana group obtained a p-value 0.001 < 0.05, while in the kiwi fruit group p-value of 0.002 < 0.05 means that there is an effect of consumption of ambon banana juice and kiwi juice on reducing hypertension in the elderly. The Mann-Whitney test yielded a p-value of 0.017 < 0.05, then Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected, this indicates that there is a significant difference between the consumption of ambon banana juice and kiwi juice in reducing hypertension in the elderly.  Discussion: There is a difference between consuming ambon banana juice and kiwi juice in reducing hypertension.

Abstract

Introduction: The Global Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic has changed the lives of people all over the world. The very high transmission rate causes this disease to have a much greater impact than diseases caused by previous coronaviruses, such as SARS and MERS. Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 can occur through direct contact, indirect contact, or close contact with an infected person through secretions such as saliva and respiratory tract secretions or respiratory droplets and aerosol-generating actions. The increase in the number of patients causes the burden on hospitals to provide Personal Protective Equipment to increase and the risk of transmission to officers’ increases. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the use of Personal Protective Equipment cover all and gowns on officers against exposure to COVID-19. Methods: The method used is a quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group The samples of this study were 34 nurses and were divided into 2 groups. Results: Based on the results of the study, the average of each group, namely in the PPE Cover All user group, the rank was 17.50, the same as the average group of PPE Surgical Gown users, with table U of 144.5, Z value of 0.000 and sig p-value of 1,000 > 0,05. Discussion: This mean that are no differences in average antigen swab results for nurses who use Coverall or Surgical Gown, in other words surgical gowns and coveralls have the same effectiveness in protecting officers from COVID-19.
