Abstract

Religious adherents usually pay no attention to the evolution of religions. They believe in religion as a matter of taken for granted without considering the historical aspect which in the end becomes his believed religion. Robert Bellah has clarified the historicity of religion and found the evolutional process of religions which are similar to the evolution of human civilization. His research finally ends with the conclusion that religions evolve and develop from the simple entity to the complex one. Bellah has classified religious evolution into five periods. Firstly is the period of Primitive Religion which is then followed by Archaic Religion, Historical religion, Early Modern Religion and comes in the end the period of Modern Religion. Each period has distinct characteristic which is coincident with the phase of human civilization of the time. Having paid attention to Bella’s insight upon religious evolution this paper tries to implement the theory in the context of Indonesia. Some of paper’s invention discloses the different way of religious participation among modern Indonesian Muslims who are no longer dependent on religious institutional interpretation. Abstract

This study attempts to analyze violence against the Ahmadiyya Community in two area, Surabaya East Java and Lombok NTB conducted by the state through the apparatus, both repressive apparatus such as the police and military and ideological apparatus such as MUI, as well as by the public as a form of direct violence. Various kinds of violence experienced by the Ahmadiyya Community in the two areas, namely East Java governor rule in 2011 has made some Ahmadiyya activities Surabaya became choked up and even some into the vacuum, while in Lombok is more pathetic, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has been displaced for seven years after they were expelled from their homes in Gegerung village District Lingsar of West Lombok to Boarding Transito Mataram, NTB. The method used in this study is the method qualitatve research, because research is preface the data collection techniques of observation and interviews conducted in Surabaya and the methods of literature conducted in Lombok. By using the framework of thinking violence theory Johan Galtung, power and knowledge Michael Foucault and the repressive apparatus of the theory and ideological apparatus of Louis Althusser, the study found that the state had committed violence against the Ahmadiyya Community, either directly or indirectly, such as neglect and lack of law enforcement against people who commit violence against the Ahmadiyya Community as experienced by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Lombok, and the MUI fatwa also rules the East Java Governor also encourages the public to direct violence against the Ahmadiyya Community, both in Surabaya and moreover that occurred in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. Abstract

Islam in Indonesia has been running quite unique, from the beginning of Islam so easy and quick to respond, ollowed by the public until after the battle of thought put Islam in the public sphere. So many conceptual contribution is expected to respond to the needs of people from vfarious Islamic thinkers, even by young Muslims. And in this paper, the authors also conducted an in-depth study to search the Islamic identity that can be felt responsive and grounded in the soil of Indonesia. Studies done by dissecting the religious rules, "al-muhafazhah 'ala al-qadim al-Salih al-akhdzu wa bi al-jadid al-ashlah" and produce a pattern of thinking that should Islamization is based on substantial study, contextual, rational, and the earthiness that gave birth to Islamic thought in Indonesia responsive. NU is an organization that seeks to hold the renewal and modernization in all fields. so with that, it is not always referred to as a traditional Islamic organization. Abstract

The article attempts to examine the Islamist group's efforts in the fight for the implementation of Islamic law in the frame issues that tend to be accepted by society in general. Framing the issue in such a manner intended to create broad support for Islamist agenda initiated. This article focuses the discussion on the APP bill case as a clear example of this strategy to frame the issue of Islamist groups to fight for their interests. This study is motivated from the debate among academics about the probability of syariatization of state in post-New Order era. Some people who can be termed as the skeptics, believes that the probability of syariatization is very small, because the power of the Islamists deemed not strong enough to fight for such agenda. On the other hand, there are also other camps that have different perceptions, which can be termed as the optimists. This camp believe that in post-New Order era, Islamist forces are so great and they are slowly transforming Indonesia towards an Islamic state in various ways. The article attempts to come out of the debate while providing an alternative perspective to understand the probability of syariatization of the state. The findings of this article indicate that the probability of the state is highly dependent on how Islamist groups are able to frame the issues that can be accepted and supported by the wide range of people. RUU APP-related cases, the Islamists were able to convince a wide audience about the need of syariatization, through an issue of morality. The use of the discourse of morality by the Islamists were able to bring the support of moderate Muslims such as Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama, even other group like Aliansi Selamatkan Anak Indonesia, which is actually not based on Islamic ideology Kata Kunci: Syariatisasi Negara, Islamis, RUU APP.

Abstract

Tulisan ini merupakan ringkasan penelitian penulis tentang gambaran kehidupan pelaku sektor informal perkotaan yang bergerak di bidang jasa angkutan yakni tukang becak di kota Probolinggo. Potret kehidupan meliputi lingkungan politik, sosial, ekonomi, kesehatan dan pengetahuan serta asset yang dimiliki oleh kalangan pekerja. Selanjutnya, dari asset ini bisa dikembangkan penguatan dalam bentuk kebijakan oleh pemerintah daerah. Kata Kunci: Sektor Informal, Kemiskinan dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari fenomena empiris bahwa ada sebagain masyarakat Ponoroogo tepatnya kalangan warok yang sampai sekarang masih eksis dalam tradisi perilaku ritualnya dalam upaya mempertahankan jati diri ketimuran sekaligus untuk mempertahankan daya mesitik mereka. Munculnya perilaku rirtual ini sebagai respon positif terhadap tantangan global yang semakin menggerus budaya local. Terdapat kemiripan dalam terminology antara warok Ponorogo dengan wara’ (sufi) istilah wara’ yaitu menjauhkan diri dari segala sesuatu yang mengandung subhat (sesuatu yang belum diketahui hukumnya), wara’ adalah status social bagi seorang yang menempuh jalan sufi, status tersebut secara berurutan taubah, wara, zuhud, tawakal, sabar, dan kerelaan, sedangkan warok dalam terminology budaya Ponorogo adalah sebuah nama yang sekaligus symbol dari kelas dan status social yang tinggi di kalangan masyarakat, beberapa ajaran warok yang dijunjung tinggi disebut dengan sembilan kautaman. Untuk mempertahankan daya mistik warok pada tahap awal dimulai dengan mensucikan diri dengan tiga patrap (aktifitas) yaitu sucining suwara, sucininng tenogo, sucining roso. Selajutnya setelah melakukan tiga patrap diatas tahap berikutnya adalah melakukan lakon tirakat dengan mengurangi makan, mengurangi tidur dan mencegah sahwat, bersamaan dengan lakon ini mereka juga harus meninggalkan sirikan (pantangan ) yaitu molimo maling, madat, main, minum, madon dan ditambah dua macam yaitu madani dan mateni. Selajnutnya mereka harus melakukan puasa, ada sembilan macam puasa di kalangan warok yaitu puasa ngrowot, puasa ngidang, puasa mendem, puasa pate geni, puasa mutih, puasa ngalong, puasa ngasrep, puasa ngepel, dan puasa ngebleng. Dalam pespektif teori tindakan Max Weber perilaku diatas bisa diklasifikasikan dalam tindakan rasional berorientasi nilai, tindakan ini terarah pada nilai, bersifat rasional dan mampehitungkan manfaatnya, tetapi tujuan yang hendak dicapai tidak terlalu dipentingkan oleh si pelaku. Pelaku hanya beranggapan bahwa yang paling penting tindakan itu termasuk criteria baik dan benar menurut ukuran dan penilaian masyarakat Kata kunci : Perilaku ritual, Warok
