Abstract

The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative analytical. The descriptive method means that the researcher explains the real conditions of supervision carried out by the principal at SMP Caountry 3 Percut Sei Tuan, while qualitative analysis is used when researching the role of the principal's supervision in supervising teacher performance at  SMP Caountry 3 Percut Sei Tuan. The scope of this research is field research taking place at SMP Caountry 3 Percut Sei Tuan. Data collection techniques use interviews, documentation and observation. Data sources consist of primary data and secondary data. In conducting research, researchers themselves naturally act as research instruments. The data analysis techniques used by researchers are data analysis, data reduction, data interpretation and conclusions. The results of this research are that the implementation of supervisory duties includes elements, personal, material and operational. The performance of teachers at Percut Sei Tuan Public Middle School has demonstrated good performance standards.

Abstract

Perpustakaan merupakan hal yang sangat sering didengar oleh masyarakat termasuk mahasiswa. Minimnya minat membaca saat ini menjadikan tantangan bagi perpustakaan untuk mengembangkan strateginya agar lebih menarik bagi pembacanya. Minat membaca erat kaitannya dengan kemampuan membaca. Artinya, hanya masyarakat yang mempunyai kemampuan membaca tinggi saja yang mampu menerapkan pola budaya membaca sebagai bagian terpenting yang dapat membimbing kehidupannya. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian tersebut, peneliti menemukan beberapa strategi minat baca yang dilakukan perpustakaan untuk meningkatkan minat membaca siswa. Dalam penelitian ini juga ditemukan persentase kuesioner yang diberikan kepada beberapa pengguna dan hasilnya.

Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate teachers' views on the effectiveness of supervision conducted by supervisors in an effort to improve their professional competence at Hikmatul Salridho School in Batang Kuis. The method used in this research is a survey with a qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of teachers representing Hikmatul Salridho school, especially grade 6 teachers. The findings of this study indicate that the teachers have a positive view of the effectiveness of supervision in improving their professional competence at Hikmatul Salridho school. In the implementation of this study, a survey instrument was used to collect data regarding the teachers' views and perceptions of the success of supervision in strengthening and improving their professional competencies. Therefore, it is necessary to have a policy from the education office to carry out supervision to improve professional competence in schools Hikmatul Salridho.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the improvement of students' writing achievement in narrative text using the think-talk-write Strategy at AL-HUSNA boarding school. The subject of this study was students of eight grade Madrasah tingkat stnawiyah Swasta Al-Husna Marindal. It consisted of 32 Students. The study's objective was to improve the students' achievement in writing Narrative text by using the think-talk-write Strategy. This study's research was conducted using the think-talk-write Strategy in Classroom Action Research. The technique of analyzing the data of this research is applied to qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data were taken from diary notes, interview sheets, observation sheets, and documentation. Based on the writing tests, the student's scores kept improving on every test, which could be seen from the improvement of students' mean scores from the pre-test, post-test of cycle I, and post-test of cycle II. The improvement can also be proved by the result of the observation sheet and diary notes, which showed the expression of the students. The quantitative data were taken from the writing test. In the pre-test, the students got up to 65. There were only 2 of 32 students (6,25%). In the post-test of cycle 1, students who got up to 65 were 8 of 32 (25%). It means that there was an improvement of about 18,75%. In the post-test of cycle II, students who got up to 65 were 29 of 32 (90,62%). The improvement was about 65,62%. The total improvement of the student's scores from the pre-test to the post-test of cycle II was 84,37%. In other words, the students got a better score at the next meeting. Based on the findings, the alternative hypothesis was accepted. This means that talking and writing could improve students' achievement in writing narrative text.
