Abstract

Anemia is a state of iron deficiency, where anemia can affect anyone, including adolescents who are still at an early age. Based on the World Health Organization (WHO) 2010 states that of all adolescents in developing countries the prevalence of anemia in adolescent girls is 53.7%. The results of the Basic Health Research (RISKESDAS) in 2013, showed that the prevalence of anemia in Indonesia was 21.7%. Anemia patients aged 5-14 years were 26.4% and patients aged 15-24 years were 18.4% (Ministry of Health, Republic of Indonesia, 2014). Based on a survey through interviews with counseling teachers at SMPN 02 Bangkalan, 5% of young women tended to leave the first day of menstruation because they felt dizzy and had dysmenorrhea and 13% rested in the UKS room, especially on the first day of menstruation. This shows the tendency of young women to experience dizziness and discomfort caused by the large amount of blood that comes out during menstruation, so the possibility of experiencing anemia is very high. The method used to carry out community service is by collecting data on the number of grade VII adolescents at SMPN 02 Bangkalan. There were 60 female adolescents of grade VII at SMPN 02 Bangkalan, only 24 students who showed signs and symptoms of anemia who participated in the training and early detection of anemia. During the seventh grade teenage girls activity, they were very enthusiastic about the material presented. There were 24 students with the results that 58.3% were not anemic and 41.7% were anemic

Abstract

The growth and development of children has increased rapidly at an early age, from 0 to 5 years. This period is often referred to as the "Golden Age" phase. The golden age is a very important period to pay close attention to the growth and development of children so that they can be detected as early as possible if an abnormality occurs. As early as possible, monitoring of growth and development can be carried out by parents themselves at home and teachers at school, especially at the RA/PAUD level. Therefore, RA/PAUD teachers need to be equipped with basic knowledge and skills regarding early detection of child growth and development. Community service activities carried out are in the form of introducing instruments, procedures for using instruments, and how to interpret the results of the examination for early detection of growth and deviations. The instruments introduced include the WHO Z-score curve to assess growth, as well as the Developmental Pre-screening Questionnaire (KPSP). As many as 10 teachers were taught how to measure a child's growth, and conduct developmental screening with KPSP The results of the activity showed that the teacher of RA Al-Ikhwan enthusiastically welcomed the training on early detection of growth and development. Most of the teachers were able to carry out examinations and interpret the results well. However, the method of conducting interviews and the use of screening tools still needs to be improved.

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is a symptomatic phenomenon including abdominal pain, cramps, and back pain. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and diarrhea can occur as menstrual symptoms (Kusmiran, 2012). The incidence of menstrual pain in the world is very large. On average, more than 50% of women in every country experience menstrual pain. Mentoring for adolescents is carried out every day during the menstrual period until the symptoms of dysmenorrhoea are reduced and subsided. The assistance was continued with the provision of red ginger drink, knowledge about menstruation and reproductive health, treatment of menstrual periods, sharing with family, moderate exercise and others. The mentoring participants were 20 young women with dismenorhoeing at SMA Bangkalan. After several days of mentoring, some teenagers showed improvement in their dysmenorrhea condition until recovery. Teenagers are able to carry out activities and some treatments around menstruation.
